She helped me set up two MyMoney checking accounts for my daughters and took the time to explain all the benefits in a way that was clear and reassuring. It felt good knowing everything was set up properly for their future. What really stood out was her personality , she was so funny, friendly, and welcoming from start to finish. An update on this issue. Altura found out that it was a fraud and that my daughter did not have any codes that she was accused of sending to someone else. It was a legitimate case of identity theft, and we are still left with an amount that was still there, impacting my daughter's banking history. Manager Karen was never reprimanded for her displayed poor attitude. We are still fighting for the rest of the amount, and my daughter lost her hard-earned money because this bank was not able to help us. read more

I applied for a loan for a property that I had in escrow. They required $10k up front to them (not escrow). Then they denied my loan and kept my $10,000! I am a Senior Citizen and feel like they may have targeted me thinking I'd just let it go. By the way, I did go to another reputable bank and got the loan, and closed the purchase. James Perez was patient, efficient & rapid with effective, communicative customer service. He was at the front check in & called me in before I could even take a seat. The sitting area was clean & spaced nicely. It was 20 minutes before closing on a Friday & this gentleman was SO calm & collected & so ready to assist! He is the reason for the review. Customer service always means the most & will keep loyal patrons. When my 4 almost teenagers are ready to open their first checking account I will make sure we set appointments with James! I went in for a new debit card since Altura has increased their security in fraud warning systems. Text warning alert is part of the impeccable preventative card fraud service they offer. Horrible customer service from Jezzy and Jennifer her manager, I went it with a scheduled appointment to potentially open a business account as they have been my personal bank for over 15 years. Jezzy had no clue how to answer our questions and seemed to already be in a bad mood the moment we sat at her station. Jezzy stood at Jennifer's office asking the questions we had about particular forms and jennifer just googled it. Then once Jezzy came back I asked would it be easier for us to speak to your manager directly since it was a lot of information she related she said no sat down. I've come in to this brand multiple times and I have never been treated so poorly. Jennifer as a manager you should have come out of your office, this would have been a great yeavhing moment for your employee rather than sit and sip on your coffee. Do not get a loan with Altura they will state that they have the right to take out funds whenever there is money is your account. They will do so without notice. The supervisors and workers in the loan department are unprofessional sarcastic rude and do not care what so ever. I've been a member for 12 years, they did not care about my circumstance and are money hungry and left my account in the negatives just to get a payment out. read more

This credit Union sucks and unfortunately this review is to the whole organization and not just a location. 4 reasons why you should not bank here. 1. When me and my husband first joined he had a great credit score but lacked credit history. They said he could get one of their credit building cards that is prepaid and then they denied it to him. They do not help you with your credit. 2. The overdraft fees are ridiculous. Unfortunately one of our accounts fell short because of our budgeting (yes I know that's our fault) but this CU has no option for notifications letting you know about account balances to help with this. So instead of us being notified we were charged $29 over draft fees repeatedly. Which leads me to number 3. 3. The app absolutely sucks. When you open it it gives you a quick look at your accounts which says it includes all pending transactions and it definitely does not. The amounts shown there are completely wrong and were actually never right for us. With no notification options I'd give the app alone 0 stars. 4. Lastly the customer service phone hours are ridiculous. Monday through Friday business hours and a few hours on Saturday. Need help after hours? Too bad. Coming from Navy Federal Credit Union I can't believe how crappy this bank is. I recently pulled all of my money out of here and went back to Navy Fed and I suggest you find somewhere else to bank, as well. A great credit union takes care of their patrons by offering credit building options and actually giving them to you. They have 24 hour customer service hours where you get a live person on the phone to help you any time you call. Their app notifies you if your account falls below a certain preset amount and they have overdraft protection. Meaning they give you a certain amount you can overdraft to cover you just in case without charging you a fee. In Navy Federal's case it's a courtesy $500 that automatically gets repaid by your next direct deposit without ever charging you an overdraft fee. (And by the way, Altura offers overdraft protection but will still charge you the fee to use it). Please consider backing else where. read more

My elderly dad is a long-time account holder at Altura. He broke his hip last year and has had tough time recovering but he still manages his finances and likes to do business in person at the credit union. I drive him when I can and make sure he gets inside safely. Once inside, staff always greet him and, seeing that he uses a walker, they make sure that there's a chair for him to sit in, either at the teller window or at one of the banking services desks. On our 3 most recent visits, we've been helped by Tiffany who has been super-accommodating and patient as he [slowly] conducts whatever business that day, normal banking stuff usually, but she's had to help him with resetting his online password each time. This rating is not for this location specifically. It's more for their loan department and auto expert services. DO NOT GO THROUGH AUTO EXPERT if you want to purchase a car sooner than later. They take forever!. I was being helped by jimmy from auto expert. For that whole month I felt like I kept bugging him and texting him with no response back because he wouldn't communicate with me at all. I just kept being left wondering what the status was on the car search. I tried to give him a last chance by trying him again showing him a car I liked with the dealership he said he did work with. And nothing! I ended up going through the dealership told them I was already approved with altura. And guess what? The dealership was able to approve me for more than altura was willing. I've been a member since 2011, and never bothered having loans with them till recently, what a disappointment. read more

I've banked with Altura ever since I was 16 (now 25) they don't have any hidden fees and are just great! I tried another major bank once and never again. If you're looking for a credit union, look no further. You can also withdrawal money without a service fee from 7/11 stores. Which come in handy if you're needing cash but there's not Altura around. Everyone has always been helpful when I go inside the branch and as well on the phone. As mentioned in another review about the wait time. They really don't have that many customer service reps, but I've only ever waited maximum of five minutes and at least my questions are always resolved. They have great deals for refinancing as well. Hope someone benefits from this and gives them a try, I'm a lifer. read more

Horrible! Anytime I try to call to speak to a representative, I am on at least a 45 minute hold. They now have stupid jokes and "fun-facts" to keep you occupied while you are on hold. To add to the frustration, the automated system offers the option for a callback, but the feature does not work! Also it says "Why wait? If you enter your account number you can access our automated billing system." Oh really? Because when I do that, the system tells me it is unable to and puts me back on hold to wait for a representative. Their branches are also always completely packed and you can expect a 20 minute wait just to deposit a check! They cannot setup recurring payments, and their web interface seems to be from 1998. I don't see them being in business much longer. read more
