I thought I did my homework before opening my account here a couple months ago, but I have been disappointed at every turn since. First, they couldn't transfer money from my old credit union unless I drove to a different branch 20 miles away. Then, I was denied when trying to add my debit card to Apple Pay because their automated system was down. When I called the office during banking hours, she said one of my answers about myself was wrong and that I would need to take time off work to drive to the branch in person if I want to use my debit card. Now, my 1.15% interest rate reverted to 0.1% because I didn't use my debit card 10 times last month. Also, their mobile check deposit has failed in 2 of 3 attempts. read more

Paid off my car with this credit union about a year ago. Never received my title to my car. Have called them numerous times and they always say the same thing to me we already sent it and the address was changed. I understand this, they also inform me to go to the dmv because they are not my lenders anymore (never will they Answer me when I say why can't you just send me another title because you were my lenders) that's exactly what the dmv told me when I informed them. I go in person today and employee brings who I think might be manage over to read me a generic email from there support that was sent to me and both people tell me the same thing .. go back to the dmv. No body will acknowledge or take accountability for them loosing my title to my car. I need my title because I cant sell my car until I receive this. Altura Credit Union - Put $25 in "Savings" when I opened the account. Checked it today and this is what I see. - Banks & Credit Unions Near Me - Riverside, California

This credit Union sucks and unfortunately this review is to the whole organization and not just a location. 4 reasons why you should not bank here. 1. When me and my husband first joined he had a great credit score but lacked credit history. They said he could get one of their credit building cards that is prepaid and then they denied it to him. They do not help you with your credit. 2. The overdraft fees are ridiculous. Unfortunately one of our accounts fell short because of our budgeting (yes I know that's our fault) but this CU has no option for notifications letting you know about account balances to help with this. So instead of us being notified we were charged $29 over draft fees repeatedly. Which leads me to number 3. 3. The app absolutely sucks. When you open it it gives you a quick look at your accounts which says it includes all pending transactions and it definitely does not. The amounts shown there are completely wrong and were actually never right for us. With no notification options I'd give the app alone 0 stars. 4. Lastly the customer service phone hours are ridiculous. Monday through Friday business hours and a few hours on Saturday. Need help after hours? Too bad. Coming from Navy Federal Credit Union I can't believe how crappy this bank is. I recently pulled all of my money out of here and went back to Navy Fed and I suggest you find somewhere else to bank, as well. A great credit union takes care of their patrons by offering credit building options and actually giving them to you. They have 24 hour customer service hours where you get a live person on the phone to help you any time you call. Their app notifies you if your account falls below a certain preset amount and they have overdraft protection. Meaning they give you a certain amount you can overdraft to cover you just in case without charging you a fee. In Navy Federal's case it's a courtesy $500 that automatically gets repaid by your next direct deposit without ever charging you an overdraft fee. (And by the way, Altura offers overdraft protection but will still charge you the fee to use it). Please consider backing else where. read more

Been a member for over 10 years, Graduated high school and immediately opened an account with altura everything had been solid until they blocked my debit for suspicious transactions which makes sense but then the transactions still went through the next day. Also i asked for an expedited card to be sent to me. 2 days was the ETA. Im currently on day number 5 still waiting. Oh and heres the cherry on top. When i brought it up again they said they resubmitted a request for an expedited card. So they just block cards whenever they feel like it. And then leave ya out to dry. In todays time you need access to your money. And theres no way mine should be held hostage for an issue on their end. Cant even work with me to verify that alerts are being sent. GO BANK SOMEWHERE ELSE THAT HAS CUSTOMER SERVICE THAT IS WILLING TO HELP YOU. The lies of the few outweigh the integrity of the majority. So yeah go to chase, wells fargo, bank of america, anywhere that has better customer service and integrity. read more

Spent 3 hours at Riverside Honda trying to buy a 2016 Honda Civic. After negotiating a lease the paperwork came back with a residual $2,800 higher than quoted! That obviously was not going to fly. We contacted Francois at Altura Credit Union Auto Expert the very next day and put together a much better deal and with no hassle. Sale price from Riverside Honda: $22,985. Sale price from Altura: $18,450. That is a DIFFERENCE OF $4,535 IN OUR POCKET AND WE GOT THE MONTHLY PURCHASE PAYMENT WE NEEDED (1.79%). The reason I would not recommend this business I recently got a PPP now on personal loan for my business they didn't say anything about having an account I have business card and also have business license, one young lady was in the county assessor's office with me I didn't know at that time that we bank at the same Credit Union I did, and yes we got back at the same time yes they gave her her money to her I'm quite sure because she was a Latino and I'm black in America that bank is racist I wouldn't advise anybody to bank at that bank they pick and choose who they want to give the loans do and that's not right because I qualified before any of this happened. The lady was so rude. I called prior to ask what I needed to open a checking account and the lady over the phone told me the requirements. I told the lady on the phone that I had just move back in with my parents so I had no bills under my name going to that address. The lady said that was fine to bring my mother and she can write a statement stating I live with her and then sign it. So I go to the bank this morning and the lady that help me I mean didn't help me was so rude said I needed proof of address I told her I didn't have it but they said my mom could sign something and the lady straight out said no, I need a bill. Then I said I have my bank statement she said no can't use that either cause you can change the address on it. (Which is dumb cause you can change the address on anything.) then I should her something I got from the post office conforming my change of address, still said no. It was like she didn't want to help me at all. The whole time she had attitude. Wouldn't take a bank statement but said I could use a credit card bill. I have NEVER experienced bad service at any locations EXCEPT the canyon springs locations. As soon as I approached the tellers window Betty Taizan had the worst attitude. The type of attitude that makes you feel little and dumb, yep rolled eyes and smacked lips kind of attitude. It was about not being able to do my transaction because of my expired drivers license even when I'm a customer. Betty had a bad attitude and seemed like she didn't even want to be there. I asked for a manager and here comes Mark Douglas FSR supervisor, An unprofessional supervisor that tells me "unless you want me to go live with you and lose my job"!!!! No." . I understand about policies and procedures but I also know exceptions can be made to customers, especially when I had my debit card, I didn't want money I just wanted to make a deposit! Their really needs to be another way to verify a customer. Ask last deposit, let me Show you the app. I could even swipe my card and put in my pin!
