Note: we did work with Team K in 2022, so I am really late in writing in this...and the whole world had a lot of turnover in 2022, so this might have changed. The different parts of the business are very different...the damage treatment is a 4 to 5 star operation...the reconstruction is a 2 star, so that's why I'm giving them a 3. They did come out promptly and the owner is very nice. The quality of their work also greatly varies. The job manager said that on a scale of 10, his guys "are 6s and 7s, but the great thing is that always come back and fix up what they might have missed". If you have an emergency leak that needs water damage treated, they are great at that. When it comes to the construction to repair/place (install new floors, trim, etc...there are better and less expensive options around.

My kitchen suffered water damage which lead to asbestos, and my family was without a functioning kitchen for three months. After repeatedly trying to get updates, I had to contact my insurance company for help and was ultimately assigned a new contractor to complete the work. During the project, Restoration 1's crew damaged the water line to my refrigerator, and despite reporting it, it was never repaired. I also objected to Restoration 1 receiving additional payment because of the poor quality of work and lack of service. To my knowledge, the insurance check was cashed without my endorsement, I discovered the check had been desposted without my signature which was required. Overall, this experience caused unnecessary stress for me and my family. I rarely leave negative reviews, but I feel others should know the lack of communication service, and poor customer service, and unresolved issues we experienced. Kathy K

I had a deeply disappointing experience with this company. The project manager changed multiple…read moretimes (3-4 times), causing major communication issues and delays. They just picked up the contaiminated cabinets they left outside today - OVER 3.5 months later. Critical instructions from mold inspectors to remove baseboards were ignored, and they sprayed them instead without informing me, despite my severe mold toxicity, autoimmune issues, and chemical intolerance. Spraying baseboards is ineffective as it only addresses surface mold, leaving spores and roots behind. Proper removal was essential, but they chose to cut corners and did not communicate the change of scope to me. They failed three mold clearance tests, left holes in containment areas, and even claimed the job was complete with visible mold remaining. On top of that, they invoiced me for incomplete work / things that they never did like removal of the dishwasher (I did that). The chemicals they used have now contaminated my home, making it unlivable for me. I am a unique case with MCAS and chemical intolerances. I can't stay in the house without severe allergic reactions - the potent smell has made its way up 2 floors - its all in our clothes, furniture, carpets. There is now so much work to try to save this house and make it liveable. I'm working with another company to fix their mistakes, but the chances of fully resolving the issue are slim according to a remediation consultation that is experts in remediations for highly sensitive people. This experience has been devastating. I strongly caution anyone especially those with mold toxicity or chemical sensitivities to find a different company that will take your unique case into consideration by either following instructions, doing proper research, or following the mold inspectors recommendations (and communicating properly with the client). I would give 1 star but I am adding another because I do appreciate after they made this huge issue, they brought in a hydroxyl machine at no cost. Unfortunately, it did not solve the issue and I am still out of my house 3.5 months later.

In October 2024, I obtained several bids to install James Hardie Plank Lap Smooth Siding and paint…read moremy home, with all contractors promising completion within two weeks. I selected Phil's bid, and work began on December 9, 2024. While the initial quality was acceptable, it declined during the second week as Phil prioritized a large commercial project. Order errors further delayed completion beyond Christmas. Phil resumed work in January, but progress was slow due to limited manpower and missing materials. On January 29, 2025, he completed several sections and agreed to correct issues such as misaligned siding, poor layouts, and incorrect trim (see pictures). He insisted on caulking and painting that week, aiming to finish by February 3. Due to heavy snow and freezing temperatures, I postponed painting until conditions improved. I have not seen Phil since. Over the past year, I have repeatedly contacted Phil via email and text. Although he occasionally promised to schedule the remaining work, he never followed through. The job remains unfinished. I request that by April 15 he either complete the work or refund sufficient funds to hire another contractor. My Responses: I can provide receipts for all the materials and supplies used. The receipts clearly show my credit card for payment. I can provide the materials and supplies list you provided. The lists have many mistakes and omissions, which were the source of the delays. My bank statements show payments of $7,500 on December 10, $7,500 on December 13, $7,500 on December 19, and $5,000 on January 19. Monthly temperature data from January 29 through February shows that February's minimum temperatures never exceeded 40°F. Such conditions are not suitable for caulking or painting.
