I took my vehicle to Checkers because it was leaking fluid (and had been for quite a while). Izzy replaced my water pump and the car is no longer leaking fluid and my heater and a/c is working again. The cost was less then he had quoted, which I was pleased with. He also installed windshield wipers for my vehicle which did not just pop up like a normal wipers should. This gas station is located at the corner of McKee and Toyon. I like the prices and the people that work here. The pumps are not super fast but they also are not as slow as some of the over-priced premium-named gas stations. There is a small store if you need to purchase some snacks and they also do some auto repair but I have not utilized those services. This is my go-to neighborhood gas station. It's hard to find a good honest body shop place. I started to hear some weird cycling noises in my car while driving. Took it to this spot near my house. I called before hand to see if they were busy and he said to bring in on in. Met with the mechanic there who I believe was the owner, he said it was the front wheel baring that needed to be replaced. The owner is extremely honest. Straight up told me that i dont have to do a bunch of things other mechanics said I need to. He took off the cover under the car and fixeda broken latch and wouldnt take money for it. Very knowledgeable on electrical and mechanical stuff in cars. He is very educated when it comes to cars. Called asking for an estimate. He proceeded to rudely tell me, "This isn't O'reillys, this is checkers Auto" because he misheard me and thought I was asking how much a part was. There are nicer, more professional ways he could have went about this. Very helpful and sincere, after he checked my car he told me the brake pad replacement I asked for is no needed but I insist that brake is not working efficiently so he took a test drive and told me that there's nothing wrong with my car it is because the weight of the car just took more time to stop. read more

These people are the best and very friendly and helpful. I tore off the side-view mirror to my BMW because I'm an idiot (hit another car with it doing 30mph). Got a quote from Cerrone's European in Redwood City. They quoted me for $1,200!! Uh... no. A co-worker referred me to Izet (that's probably not how you spell his name haha) and he straight up told me to buy the part on eBay myself since it'll be cheaper that way and he'll just charge me for the labor to put it on. I did exactly that and the whole repair (parts+labor) ended up costing me just over $300. Got an oil change while it was in there, too (which was also pretty cheap... a BMW dealer would have cost me $100 or more). Definitely coming back to this guy again before anyone else. Oh and while you're waiting for your car make sure you grab a meatball sandwich from Antipasto's across the street. read more

I've had Izzet be the only mechanic to work on my truck. He's honest and cheaper than everywhere else for most repairs. I've sent all my friends and family there and they agree. This place is a ripoff the gas prices are always $0.15 higher then other gas stations near by. The are higher the Shell or Rotten Robbie's right up Piedmont rd. Both new gas stations also. Even chevron prices are lower if not the same price. Seems like they are ripping off the neighborhood!!! I would rather drive another 2 minutes then being takin advantage of by this neighborhood gas station!! What a shame greedy owners!! If I could give Izzet 10 stars I would. You cannot find a better, more honest and competent mechanic. I first met him at his previous station which was close to my home. He relocated and even though it was not as convenient I sought him out. When you find a professional of his caliber you hold on to that. I have full faith and confidence that when he tells me something it is correct. I have even had him talk me out of a fix I thought was needed and turns out he was right, on more than one occasion. I was never told to return with proof that the bill was real. Yes you called the police at my request but the elder gentleman requested that you hang up the phone and he would handle it as you lost control of the situation and you were very rude about it. I was never offered the chance to receive $20 worth of gas if I had proof and yes I returned with my mother 15 mins later because I had to make a stop at her house told her what happened and she was equally as upset about it. I would've argued the first time about it but I had two small babies in the car. I have made it a point to Never return to your business and highly suggest you check your facts.
