After obtaining 3 other bids, my husband and I decided to go with Alure for the expansion of our half bath to a full bath. We figured with such a recognized company as Alure we couldn't go wrong. Little did we know. Our experience with the sales rep was great. He was open to our ideas and our somewhat indecisiveness at times. That was the extent of the great experience. Our project was schedule to be completed in 2 weeks. It took a month to finish. The Project Manager on the job was very rarely on sight doing no supervision and when he did come by he would play with our dog. Days would pass without anyone showing up to work. Second day into the job we had a major leak in our dinning room which was right below the bathroom being worked on, Leak was due to the construction being done. This did not get fixed until after the bathroom was completed - 4 weeks later. Because of careless work done by the plumber, our basement was flooded which costs us $900 to repair - which we had to pay out of our own pocket. We later found out the project manager has purposely not fixed the leak until the end in order to save Alure money by not having them have to return if something went wrong. We had to demand our Project Manager be replace because he was not performing any supervisory functions. We later learned that the same project manager had been kicked off other jobs. My husband and I had been getting the run around as to where some of our materials were. For almost a week we waited for the sink counter top to be delivered. We were told that it takes time because of measurement and what not. Complete crap! If it wasn't going to be completed in 2 weeks, they should have budgeted for that delay. It has been about a month since the work was completed and we are still dealing with this Company, from noises and water coming out of the sink when the toilet is flushed to another leak in the dining room. To add insult to injury I'm constantly getting emails and letters asking for our review and to share our experience. Seriously!!! The project work was not properly managed and the plumbing work performed was not done to professional standard for the amount of money we were charged. We made it very clear - we will never use Allure again or refer them. read more

I had a wonderful experience with Alure doing a bathroom remodel this past December. Rocco was my salesperson and we had a great time designing the bathroom and when we hit a snag we worked out a better option. You pay for what you get with Alure. I needed the convenience of being able to pick out all of the materials at home and in one shot. The work itself was done as promised in 5 days which I could not believe and was done professionally and cleanly. The results were beautiful. Amazing, They were so professional punctual and we had a team of sales (Bob J), project management (Dan S), team leader (Jeff G) who oversaw or actually did most of the work himself with his team. They were great in communicating their schedule and yes there were said they were booked elsewhere but were clear about when they would be back and kept all their promises. Bad experience with Alure. From all the advertising they do we expected more. They definitely have a problem with keeping scheduled appointments. Often no one showed up ( even the first appointment). Their excuses were a "mistake in scheduling" to "we left a message on your voicemail." The exception was the salesman. He was very knowledgeable and showed us all the supplies that would be used for the job. We thought we were in good hands. Wrong! After we signed the contract things went downhill. The project manager was never available to assess the job. Many appointments were rescheduled, then cancelled, then no one showed up. When he finally came he didn't say much and didn't seem to care. The day of the job the contractors came at 8am and gutted the siding. After an hour they left to get supplies that were missing and returned 1 1/2 hours later. The project manager was no where in site. Never got a dumpster ( as stated in the contract). There was debris all over the lawn and flower beds. The project manager finally showed up at 3pm and never even observed the work that was being done. He kept looking at the ground, cleaning up the debris on his cell phone. The contractors were fast and did not do a quality job. Only one of them seemed to be skilled. After the job was done some leftover materials were left in the driveway. We were told they would be picked up early the next morning. After 3 days we had to call to have them picked up. I would never use this company again. Next time I will use a company that has their own staff who are more invested in the job. PS. All these issues were discussed with the salesperson and project manager. Design consultant Joe May was extremely helpful and guided us through each step of the project. The job took 5 days and we couldn't be happier. Alure just finished our garage. We had them strip of the old siding and replace all damaged wood and cut and install a side door entrance. All new siding and leaders and gutters finished off what looks like a brand new garage. We have used Alure in the past to install new windows and replace the roof on the house and garage. We have found the workers to be professional while working quiet and keeping the work area clean. There was never a disruption to our daily routine. We signed up to have 2 bathrooms redone -- they claim 5 days. We knew that wouldn't be the case and figured no more than 10 business days. Our town can be a little slow on permit inspections and we told them that AT CONTRACT SIGNING. They assured us they deal with town inspectors all time. They would complete the main bath one week and start the master 2 weeks later when we returned home from vacation. 8. Monday morning we are waiting for someone to show up -- they still have yet to see the shower door frame. 3 PHONE CALLS later, head of crew calls to say they will be here after lunch in an attitude that I should know that (someone has always been at our house by 8 am!) I am sitting here writing this waiting to see how they are going to finish and solve the mistake they made to our satisifcation. For the amount of money we spent and the hope that both bathrooms would be done in 3 - 31/2 weeks, we are now onto 6 weeks and feel like we are just settling for the job they are doing. Agreeing with Laurie R, very very disappointed and we definitely discourage others from using them 1. They started and demo'd the first bathroom very quickly, got the electrician here and have everything set/. They never called ahead for rough inspections so NO WORK was done in the next 2 days waiting for the inspectors - even though we told them about the slowness. 2. They assured us an entire team would be here and things would move quickly--they had one guy here trying to do everything, and while he was very nice, I can't say he was qualified to do plumbing, drywall, tiling, etc. Where was everyone else??? 3. Getting in touch with the construction crew leader NEVER at our house is impossible. Now it is 2 weeks, the bathroom is far from done and we leave for vacation. Getting back from vacation (when the master is supposed to be started), they need to finish the main bath. Again, just the one guy. 4. They tell you your crew is just for you -- I don"t think so -- they are on other jobs. 5. Main bath is finally finished (minus linen closet shelves that will take another 2 1/2 weeks to get installed) and the sink pipe is leaking into the cabinet. Do they send the plumber? No, jack of all trades guy - who does manage to fix the problem 6. Master bath is started and moves along a little better -- still no final inspections on the main bath. I told them they will have to sit and wait for the inspectors -- I can't be constantly sitting around waiting for them. 7. Almost done with master bath (mind you, no one has been here to get the certified checks that they say you MUST have ready at certain points in the construction - guess they don't want their money that bad). Our one guy that shows up tells us on Friday that many people will be here Saturday to finish up the job. GUESS WHAT??? only he shows up (finally installs the shelves in the first bathroom) .We go out and he is putting up shower doors -- we get home and the whole frame is on crooked! it will have to be ripped out of the tile read more

Alure did my kitchen and bathroom, windows siding and roof. I had to have them come back to fix numerous mistakes, and now I have to replace their "30 year roof" after 13 years. I started having issues with the roof years ago and only got excuses. Now I have leaks and they say that we should share financial responsibility. Stay away from them!!! read more

Buyer Beware! I chose Alure to remodel my bathroom in July 2018 at which time they installed my quartz vanity top on a new vanity cabinet. The quartz top was not cut correctly and did not fit the sinks. I contacted the salesman, project manager and company representative to make them aware of the issue. Emilio the project manager offered me $500 which does not even come close to the cost of the counter top or installation. After dozens of phone call, texts and e-mails initiated by me over the last 7 months, nothing has been done! They are unprofessional and have ignored my requests. I held off writing this review to give me a chance to review the actual product. Now that it's been a month or so, I feel I can accurately review Alure. From the beginning, the salesman was easy to communicate with. He was easily accessible and communicative, which is a huge plus for me. When we got to the paperwork, I didn't have an issue with anything. However, my first knock came when I got a call while on vacation, that they couldn't offer the payment schedule the salesman and I had agreed on, and that they needed additional work to order. I offered to make an additional payment via credit card, but was told they could only accept one. This left either cash or a check, but I was out of state for a week. I got the staff to order the parts and promised I'd run the check over as soon as I came back to New York. Once I was back and the payment went in, I waited the prescribed amount, but found my installation date was pushed back. Suddenly, the week before the updated date, I got a call asking if they could start a few days early, as their schedule suddenly opened. I didn't want to wait any longer and I agreed. The two installers came on time and certainly appeared to be working hard in the heat of early Summer. The windows look good, function properly, and have no damage. However, they left a mess inside most of the rooms and outside. I'm still finding screws outside in my gardens, and one of my friends stepped on debris in one of the bedrooms. The caulking on the outside, while functional, was not as neat as it could have been. In short for TL DR fans: Alure is an okay company. You'll get a decent product and they're okay people to work with, but there is definitely room for improvement. read more

My family had some new custom windows installed, the breezeway closed off to the front of the house and new cedar shake vinyl siding for the front of the house. To start, all the work that was done was amazing and we are very happy. I never expected the team that was here to clean up both inside and outside as much as they did. They were considerate of my son and my dog the entire time they were here. They arrived when they said they would and worked hard the entire time. John Bernaudo was my sales rep. He was attentive to all of our needs and helped us get exactly what we were looking for. That is only part of the story though with our installation. At first, we were not happy as we had to deal with numerous delays. My project manager was Robert Krieger. I didn't hear from him as much as I would have liked in the beginning. This was brought to his attention and from that point forward, it was like night and day. He clearly showed that he has the capacity to listen to people and put them first. I chose Alure because my friend Molly Perrotta Ferro is married to Sal Ferro and gave them my initial trust based on how long I have known her. Both John and Robert proved to me that was just the start and that we will have a long standing relationship with Alure while we continue to rebuild our home from the ground up. I was so shocked to read all the negative reviews for Alure. My experience was the exact opposite. I went for the 5-day bathroom remodel and from Day 1 it was wonderful! It started with the designer, Gregory Griffith who spent 4 hours with me! It seemed like he had a sample of everything in his car and I never had to go to the showroom to pick anything out. His advice was right on and his design ideas were perfect for my one and only bathroom. Once we scheduled the job, I met with Gregory and my Project Manager Emilio Floro. a few weeks before the start. I was getting nervous because remodeling isn't cheap and I was going to cancel it but Gregory and Emilio worked with me to make adjustments that made my budget a little friendlier. Emilio was either there or a phone call away whenever I needed him. The demo team came in and left my hallway cleaner than it was when they came in! The construction crew (my 3 polish men), were polite, accurate and experienced. My tile work was beautiful and the wainscoting perfect. When there was an issue with the electrician and the team, Emilio stepped in , made a few phone calls and it was taken care of. The finish came with the wonderful painter , Phil Fischlein, that they recommended. Phil is a perfectionist and everything came out beautifully. So, my 5 day makeover did take an extra 2 days due to some scheduling issues, but it was worth it. I got other quotes on the work and while Alure was a little bit more, the service they provide is worth it. I felt completely secure in leaving them a key and going to work. I came home to a neat, progressing bathroom and I still stare in wonder at it 2 months later. I would recommend this team to anyone! read more

I've used Alure Home Improvement for 2 bathrooms and a kitchen and I have been extremely satisfied with both the process and the final results. Alure makes the remodel process easy by bringing all the samples directly to your home and guiding you through all the various options. The demolition and rebuild were both managed with the least amount of mess and all three projects started on time and finished within a few days of the estimated completion date. As with any major remodel, there were a few hitches, but they were promptly addressed to our satisfaction by our project manager, Justin B. and our design specialist Billy C. We have also had to call customer service for some minor follow up repairs with one of the bathrooms and that was also handled promptly to our satisfaction free of charge. This maybe an odd review since I haven't had any work done by Alure (yet) but I'm writing this because my neighbor is having a 2nd floor added to there house and we all no as neighbors what that can mean for our quality of life while a project of that size is being done, but I must tell you I have never seen a more professional group of people on a job site. This was the 2nd job that I had them do for me. They did my kitchen, and they did such a great job, we hired them to do the master bath. Once again, from Mike the job supervisor, to the installers that transformed my bathroom, they knocked it out of the park. The job came in on budget and on time and totally exceeded expectations. Alure just finished our 5 day bathroom in 4 days! It came out so beautifully and the whole process was easy and clear. Greg Griffin was our designer and he spent hours with us making sure we were happy with our materials. The materials are all top-notch and I really appreciated that Greg never pointed us in the direction of getting something more expensive simply so the company could make more money. He truly cared that we got what we wanted and he wanted to ensure that our bathroom looked nice, had good resale value, and stayed within our budget. Joe Russo was our production supervisor and he made sure that everything ran smoothly. The guys that worked on the bathroom were so incredibly sweet and amazingly talented. Throughout the week they checked in every time they installed something just to ensure we liked it before they continued. We couldn't be happier!! It's been a day since the bathroom has been done and so far Alure has called us a few times just to make sure that we're happy and that everything is working properly. Use these guys, they're great! Very disappointed in the quality of the work. They were hired by our condo board in Long beach to build new decks right after Sandy. Split spindles, nail holes everywhere, staircases are all unaligned, and the structural strength is questionable. This job was rushed, they didn't even drill holes before putting in screws. Its disgusting to look at. Really sad how they would consider the work they did acceptable. My first time writing a negative review to anyone, but the work was that poor. We waited a long time to have enough money to do this job, and it sucks that it was done the way it was. I take pride in my home, along with all the other residents in the complex, and most if not all are extremely disappointed and trying to figure out how to fix the work that was done. Decks need to be replaced and redone. Hopefully this gets back to the owner of Allure and he does the right thing. read more

Alure recently did a bathroom renovation on my mother's house. The communication between the workers and the job supervisor Justin was pathetic. A 5 day bathroom took 3 weeks and was way over priced. Justin has still not come to do a final walk through. There are holes in her kitchen ceiling that they are "suppose to repair" and they destroyed the wall in the closet of the bedroom next to the bath. Then the bill came and the cost per month is almost double what we were told when they began the job. DO NOT DEAL with these Crooks!!!! read more

I contacted Alure to get an estimate on replacing 2 windows after my home was burglarized. It took only a day or 2 for someone to come out, measure and provide us with an estimate which seemed reasonable. The "Exterior Designer", Vinnie was very personable and seemed on the up and up. Although why that is his title I don't know- all he did was show us a book and tell us what the window would look like. He designed nothing and gave us no real options. He then said we needed to make an appointment for him to come out and sign the contact. Why? Who knows? He was there and we were ready but ok- we went along for the ride. Sorry I did. When he came back the following Monday, Vinnie assured me that because of my situation they would prioritize the request and get someone out to take a final measurement ASAP. First- final measurement? What was wrong with his measurement? The size of the window I will need won't change but...ok, we went along for the ride. He told me the office manager Millie would call me to set up an appointment with Tom the Installer to measure, probably later in in the week. 15 days later - no call. Ok, we signed the contract 12/23- so it was the holidays, etc. But after 15 days I was a little concerned. So I went to their website and sent an email inquiring about the status. This is easier for me since I am not really able to make outbound calls from my job. About 30 mins after sending the email my cell phone starts ringing. I happened to be taking a break so I answered it. It was Millie from Alure. She was beside herself that I had sent an email. (The Horror!!!!). Her exact words to me regarding why it took so long to hear from them was " I just got your folder". I said, what if I hadn't called? Would anyone have called me? Her response? "I just got your folder but I can send Tom out to measure at noon today". Well, my husband and I both work so we have to make time to be home. It happened that he was going to be home the following day for some other work being done but oh no, Tom couldn't come with just a day's notice.(Even though he could be there same day with just 2 hours notice?) When I asked if he could come on the following Saturday you would think I asked if I could take her firstborn child for a human sacrifice- she was all thrown off, Uh um- I have to check with him to see if that's possible and call you back. Ok. Fine. I'll play along. So I wait - and now I'm starting to think about it. I guess I fell hook line and sinker when Vinnie swore up and down to me that Tom lived in my area and would be willing to work with me, just ask! Right. So I wait about an hour and a half and called back when I had an opportunity on my lunch hour- I was anxious to get this taken care of and didn't want to risk my folder being "misplaced". Plus, the more I thought about it, I was a getting upset. 2 weeks with no contact and the excuse with no apology- "I just got your folder". So anyway, I called Millie and asked her if she was able to get me an appointment for Saturday. Her response? "I already called you about this and left you a message on your voicemail-Tom will be there Saturday at 9 am". I said thanks and hung up. BTW- no return phone call was made and I received no voicemail. Maybe she left the voicemail in my folder? Who knows? Later that night I receive a call from Vinnie at my home number. He wanted to make sure that someone had been able to come out and measure. I told him no and explained what happened. His response? The window factories are all closed at this time of year anyway so the almost 3 weeks I had to wait for a final measurement would not really affect me in any way. !!!!!!! what?? So I say, listen that's not really the point. There was no communication and that really wasn't acceptable. Well, he starts with a passive aggressive attitude and begins to LECTURE me about how Alure treats their customers very well and they take pride in that. Well Alure you really have nothing to be proud of so far. BTW, they cashed my check that same day. No waiting 15 days for that! So the ever elusive Tom comes Saturday @ 9 to measure. He was in the house for all of 5 minutes and uttered exactly 2 sentences. "Hi My name is Tom" when he walked in and "Have a nice day" when he walked out. He wasn't exactly rude but not really pleasant either. Plus, why couldn't he have done this before Saturday? No information on what the next step is, when we would be contacted- nothing. My husband and I felt like we were in trouble. The actual person who came to install on 1/30 was RJ, he was very nice and knew what he was doing. The window is nice, a little overpriced I think but that's on me for not shopping around. The other day I got a photocopy of a brochure/warranty info with the order # and install date handwritten on the front which was very bizarre and just looked unprofessional. My family signed on to have our basement redone because of their Owen's basement finishing system. The system is great...for the most part. Here is why they get 1 star: 1. The communication between the sales person, person in charge of the construction, and the construction crew was HORRIBLE. The construction crew would ask us for measurements and specifics when it was all written down by our sales person weeks before. When a change needed to happen or something was done wrong it wasn't properly communicated to the construction crew. 2. The lead construction guy seemed unresponsive to our complaints, we had to go to our sales person who would then talk to thee lead construction guy. 3. Their recommended electrician left our grandmother (elderly lady in her 80s), without electricity in half of her floor of the house for SEVERAL days because he had other things to do. a.) And their recommended plummer charged extremely high prices. We got a different plummer to do ALOT MORE WORK for the same price their plummer offered. 4. We decided, for budget reasons, to do regular dry wall on the inner walls of the basement. Want they don't tell you is that the molding that they put at the top of the walls that have the Owen's Corning system, won't also be at the top of the regular molding so half of the basement upper walls have molding and half don't. THIS COMPANY IS VERY VERY EXPENSIVE, and everything they do seems half assed. 5. The way they framed certain walls, they had to leave some windows/doors without molding. We had a door that had two sides of molding and the third side was missing molding because they don't make a corner piece for this basement finishing system. instead of trying to figure out a way to fix it, they just left it, not telling us anything. When we called them on it, they made excuses instead of going to home depot and figuring out a solution. Also we have a window or two like that as well (LOOKS REALLY CHEAP) 6. We have been after them for several weeks to put the vent in our bathroom, which should have been done in the first place and it still isn't done. 7. They do not finish the walls, meaning painting the walls, which is fine and we knew that going in, however, in places where they "attempted" to plaster it was very half assed. We had to go replaster holes in the drywall. Also in many places they failed to attach moldings properly so they are so loose you could get you finger in between the wall and the molding. 8. There are a few complicated places to fit ceiling squares, so I give it to them it is not easy, but they basically cut out uneven, messy holes around whatever they were trying to get around and left it. So they tried to go around a couple of poles and left uneven circles where you can see in between the ceiling tile and the pole...IT LOOKS LIKE A THIRD GRADE CUT THE CEILING BOARD...sorry to insult third graders. 9. 2 WEEKS CONSTRUCTION....ummm, or not. They tell you they can be done in 2 to 3 weeks tops, impressive right, well that is a lie. We are going on over a month and still waiting for little details to be finished. Our project was delayed by about two weeks because the flooring guys had another project. - Something they will also tell you is that your crew is your crew...no one else's. Apparently that is a lie because our crew was busy on other projects. We chose this company for their basement system, quickness to get things done, and that they were supposed to be trustworthy.
