We had an appointment in August with Donna, a lovely woman and mother of owner. We spent about an hour with her, customizing our pool house, reviewing options. We were told thar material cost were rising but we would receive a quote within a week. After several attempts to get in touch, we have yet to get any kind of response. TOTAL WASTE OF TIME. In COVID, you'd think people would be more attentive to customer service. This company was the absolute worst. Very very disappointing. read more

I looked online for gazebos on Craigslist and other websites. I found a nice pavilion for sale. But it was out of my price range. Donna told me they have a Gazebo for $1600. It needed nome TLC. I went there to look and offered $1200, she counter offered with $1500 delivered and leveled. I jumped on it and paid that price. Marisa at the counter was very nice and she was down to earth and showed me the Gazebo. The guys who delivered were awesome and leveled it nice. It was sturdy and just needed to be power washed and painted or stained. The roof was moldy because it was cedar shake shingles. Some people like that look. "Hampton's look" they delivered it and I started to paint it with special KILS barn/fence paint that doesn't chip or peel or water get under the paint. I power washed and stained the roof a mahogany brown. Spray painted the finial copper. It came out beautiful and accents my yard perfect. My family loves it. Thank you to ALL here. read more

We had our shed delivered last month and are so happy. We shopped around and found that the sheds built by Long Island Shed Builders had superior craftsmanship and a higher quality of building materials than others we looked at. They use real plywood, not the cheaper waferboard on the walls. The base is better lumber and supported with three 4 x 4 beams at the base, and has a diamond kick plate. It is a good price for a truly well built, quality shed. The delivery was amazing to watch. They came and built a bluestone base, then brought the completed 8 x 12 foot shed into our backyard on a remote controlled machine on wheels. Everyone at Long Island Shed Builders was professional, courteous, did a great job and dealing with them was a wonderful experience. We recommend them highly. I reviewed building my own shed from plans, a kit from Lowes & Home Depot or a pre made shed from or LI shed builders. The kits start cheaper but in the end all options are close in price. The other sheds & kits are made with low grade OSB plywood for most everything. The kits have the 10 ft beam cut to fit the 8 ft x 4 ft foot print then toe nailed together. I made the mistake of not using LI Shed Builders, In the end I ended up purchasing about 1.5K in extra material & replacement material such as shingles, tar paper, drip guard, correct sized support beams, & ground contact materials to build the flooring. I did all the work myself with my daughter & it cost the same for my low quality shed. If I used the LI shed builders, the cost would have been the same & I would have a far better shed. don't wast your time with any other option. They are the best, just look at the sheds at their office. read more

Here's a family business that's friendly and thorough. I went to a number of shed providers in my area and not one was willing to do all that was necessary except for Long Island Shed Builders. I needed the old shed taken down and carted away as well as preparation of the site. The other companies would suggest who to contact but none did the job from start to finish. I also needed the shed built on site. Everyone else charged a large fee to do this. This shed was built like a home. Studs were kiln dried, 16" on center. Headers over the windows and doors make the structure very sturdy. Architectural shingles and complete exterior painting completed the shed. They also installed a piece of diamond plate on the door sill to protect the wood floor from damage caused by machinery being dragged in and out. Everything was top grade. Called them Spoke to someone emailed them photos to move my shed and they never got back. Called about 6 times after trying to get them to give me an estimate. Lady just kept saying they'll get back to me and never did . I give up read more

Receptionist was not patient and rude on the telephone. Her Reasoning was that she was very busy. She displayed poor customer Service.

Unfortunately I did not have a good experience with this business. The most important key element is proper communication between company and client. The final bill was mis-quoted due to a verbal agreement instead of a revised invoice. Final product is beautiful but a few blood spots were left behind. This is unacceptable! read more

I had gone to a couple of other places to look at sheds, but the quality of the materials they used weren't nearly as good as Long Island Shed Builders. Sure the other places were a little cheaper, but so was the quality of the materials they used. Ultimately, when it came down to investing our money, we didn't hesitate on quality so that's why we chose Long Island Shed Builders!!! The men did a fantastic job building our shed on site. Now, let's just say that Donna may not be the most patient, or the easiest woman to deal with. However; Bob, her dad, and also Zac's grandfather, is one of the best. Although he doesn't do much there, he does answer the phone and is a part of the business and is one of the nicest people you'll ever meet. He is attentive and just a very nice man. They do build quality sheds, and they do have reasonable prices, although their people skills may lack in a few areas, their products are top notch. Built to spec, and last. Their work is great. Maybe someone else to answer the phone and help Donna out wouldn't be a bad idea, so she can have a bit more time to herself, as we all need sometimes. That being said, their work is on time, and professional. They do need more people at the desk and maybe someone else who is as knowledgeable as Donna is, that can deal with the customers. Also before placing your shed, be sure to check with your town codes to be absolutely sure about the setbacks, because of you ever need a permit for a pool/garage/addition WHATEVER, the shed needs to be in the right spot and off the property line a certain distance. Do not rely on LI shed builders for this info. Do your due diligence. read more
