Bus driver of vehicle 56769 in Las Vegas, NV at approximately 2207 on May 16th nearly caused a car accident involving a compact sedan and a mid-sized pickup truck after bus driver attempted to force themselves into the very right lane while both vehicles were already present. If not for the quick thinking and reaction time of both drivers of the sedan and truck, there would have been a serious collision with all three vehicles. I cannot believe that I hadn't left a review for this company! Yes, the bus is older and there really is no wifi. Yes, some of the busses smell like stale cigarettes. But these are some of the nicest people I've met when I lived in LA. I had a big downturn in my life as our savings were invested in a film project that we have yet to see a profit from. We lost our place because of this bad investment. I was living with friends and working as a background actor, my partner was crashing in a We Work sort of space. As a side income (and I'm not proud of it), I learned how to advantage play slot machines. My car wasn't working well enough to drive out to the casinos in the California desert, so I discovered Alvand while doing a google search. This company provides transportation to and from some of the California casinos. It's mostly older folks who use this service. But I figured, is someone my father's or grandfather's age felt safe riding with them, then I would too. They really do take care of their customers. They always had bottles of water and snacks from an Armenian bakery. One time, I left my car keys on the bus. I was lucky to get a ride to their main bus station. They waited for me and held my keys safe. The casinos we went to always offered a bit of cash play for the casino and one (Fantasy Springs) offered a voucher for lunch! I also learned a few words in the Armenian language. I haven't used their service since before lockdown. I thought about them a lot during lockdown. I hope they are doing ok. I am no longer living in the area, but if you want to take a day trip to Solvang (Chumash casino), just pay the rate to go to the Chumash and then get an Uber or whatever into town. The drive is gorgeous. The buses were always clean too. read more

Alvand has new management in place and so far my interaction with them has been great. They are very professional and know how to manage the staff as well as run the operation in a fair and equitable manner. They provide competitive pay and benefits, sign on and referral bonus is a plus. Our company just acquired a fleet of 18 new busses to run the new Amtrak service and we are doing an excellent job. STAY AWAY.....! ! My parents just got back from a trip with them, the driver has been so rude with people. Took the driver forever to register the passengers by himself. He had no help what so ever. The whole time of hours driving he has not turn the radio or the TV on.Even when the passengers asked him, he had responded rude and told them he won't turn them on. The bus was so dirty, so anyone could barely see the out side. My parents are going to these tours for last twenty years and this has been the worst experience they have ever had. I called and she said they can't do more than 65..... Well if we're doing 70, how did he come up behind us, pass us, and is out of sight??? Reckless. My date and I had a horrible time. We came in and sat in our seats, and a crazy rude & entitled woman told to get up and move. The bus has open seating, so we just ignored her. Then, she flew into a rage and complained to the bus driver. and (shocking moment) the bus driver yelled as us and TOLD US TO GET IN THE BACK OF THE BUS!!! BE AWARE!! If you plan on staying overnight at Chumash and returning home the following day, (even though the website does not inform you) there will be a returning fee of $20.00, even if the bus is not full. I spoke with Alvand's main office and they also mentioned that you are suppose to make reservations as well. Now I have no problems paying the fee (it's still a good value) but they should let us know in advance so we can plan on it. And just an FYI The Roadrunner Shuttle does not charge the returning fee and you do NOT need reservations AND their buses are very comfortable "VOLVO" buses, driven by friendly, safe drivers! read more

My parents were told to shut up numerous times when they wanted to voice their opinions on bus. They have been showing favoritism towards specific races. Armenians are being treated poorly. On Sunday the 28th, I had the worst experience with a tour group ever. I got on the bus with Alvand Group in Encino and they made a stop in Glendale. once we stopped in Glendale to pick up others, Two people came on and wanted to have my seat so they can sit together. they asked me to move and I said I was happy where I was. There were many other spots behind me and in the back of the bus that they could've sat together. Why my seat? They made such a stink that the tour guide got involved and tried to rush me out of my seat. It got to the point where the owner of the company did the same thing. They not only asked me to move to the back of the bus but basically made me feel, as a paying participant, that Inindividually didn't matter. The owner then told me we're not allowed to sit alone unless we payed for two seats. I didn't tell them they couldn't sit next to me I just told him I didn't want to move. I am not Armenian and I felt this harassment had to do with me not being one of them. They wouldn't have talked to another Armenian this way. it was disrespectful and unappreciated. I felt so hurt by the situation that even though I had already paid I still called an Uber home which cost me $100. It took more out of my pocket but in the end I knew I didn't have to deal with them or see them again. I was afraid the situation would have happened again. I am writing here to warn people although I should contact the BBB due to this behavior. I advise anybody who is not Armenian not to take this tour group to any casino or anywhere for that matter. read more

Aweful, horrible tour/transportation company. Biased Tour Guide (Knarig). About 2 years ago, I took one of their one day tours. On the way to our destination, I got drenched with rain water leaking from the ceiling of the bus and since it was full, nothing could be done. They did not even apologize or offer to refund my ticket price or even offer a complementary ride for a future date. I thought things happen so I gave them a 2nd chance. Boy oh boy, I was soooo wrong. This time I even got assualted by one of their other customers as allegedly, I had taken her seat when we were getting ready to return. The tour did not have assigned seats. It was 1st come 1st serve. Unfortunately, the Tour Guide sided with the other customer as it seemed that she was a regular. DO NOT DO THE MISTAKE OF GOING ON TOURS WITH ALVAND JUST BECAUSE THEY ARE REASONABLY PRICED. YOU'LL REGRET IT!!!!! If I have the choice, they are not deserving of even 1 star. read more

This was a terrible tour they waisted an entire day at an outlet mall outside of where we were supposed to go. They also over charged and took us to a 2 star hotel. I would NOT recommended this tour to anyone!!!!!! Also the tour guide yelled at a family for being bad customers because they had complained about bugs in the room and plumming problems in their bathroom. The tour guide also yelled at two elderly women for being a few minutes late to the bus and allowed another man to continue yelling at them disrespectfully. She also collected a manditory $5 tip from every person on the bus for the driver whom.is her husband then proceeded to gamble it all away.... this was at the beginning of the trip. I had two trips to Las Vegas with Alvand Tour. On both trips they had problem with transportation for their clients back home. When I called office to talk to them, the stuff were so irresponsible and they were asking me for solution! We were group of ten people, eventhough, I requested to have rooms close to each other we were acomodated far from each other.. The Hotel was horrible, dirty rooms, bad housekeeping and sewage smell in the hallways. read more

i have been on tour with alvand tour one time and it was a very bad experience .the tour guides name is helen and she was very in-polite rude and mean.the bus smelled. we were notified that the bus had mechanical problems but they were able to fix it, however they made a stop in the middle of nowhere, where the bus broke down, leaving us stranded for 5hours, with nothing to do until they transported a new bus to take us home. we left las vegas at 10 am and did not return until 10pm. the worst part was, that they did not even apologize for the inconvenience, or offer anything to help make the wait more pleasant. the majority of the passengers were older, and had difficulty waiting for the new bus in the desert, however no accommodations were made for them. they even left behind two passengers in las vegas! i would never use this tour again. read more
