**Very disappointed with the durability and repairability of Gaia flooring**…read more We had Gaia Red Series Torre flooring professionally installed by Lane Hardwood in 2023, and unfortunately, we have been very disappointed with our experience with the product only about three years later. We have experienced significant flooring issues, including damaged/broken planks and, in a separate area near the sink, flooring that is now bulging and cupping. I understand that the causes of these issues may be different, and I am still working to determine exactly what caused each problem. However, the repair process has been particularly frustrating. Because of the interlocking installation system, we were told that individual damaged planks cannot simply be removed and replaced. Instead, large sections of the flooring need to be removed back to the wall in order to access and replace the affected area. As a result, we received repair estimates from Lane Hardwood of approximately **$2,450 for 142 square feet** and **$5,600 for 331 square feet**. I understand that not all types of damage are necessarily covered under a manufacturer's warranty. My concern is that a professionally installed floor that is only about three years old can be so difficult and expensive to repair when localized damage occurs. Gaia presents its flooring as a premium, durable product with a long residential warranty, so I expected better long-term performance and, importantly, better repairability. At this point, based on our experience with both the flooring issues and the repair process, **I would not choose this flooring again.**

They are family-run business (Serhii, his brother and family members do all the work), Serhii is a great communicator and he responded to my detailed questions in writing very clearly while some other contractors don't care to spend that time/effort. Their pricing is also pretty fair. During the project they worked hard and kept the schedule as promised. During the process some unanticipated issues came up and they showed flexibility and willingness to change the scope of the project and schedule accordingly. They are detail oriented. After we had them reinstall all baseboards there was one place we were not quite happy, they came back and fixed it. The end result was beautiful and it had been a great experience working with Serhii and his family crew!
