Lane removed carpeting and installed hardwood floors in our 3 bedrooms. They were stained to match the existing wood floors. They look very nice. We experienced poor communication from the start. We had to initiate timing, scheduling, process, etc information. If I were not experienced with remodeling and project management I wonder how we would have known anything. Just as an example, Brad actually called us 2 days before the project was to start to tell us they wanted to start a day early. All the planning that went into preparing our home (emptying all bedrooms and closets and moving out of our house) needed to shift. Ha. Fortunately, he had actually already asked us a couple weeks earlier-he had forgotten! Communication did not improve. Then there was the mess they left. Our driveway was badly stained, trash was left in our yard, and handprints from floor-stain hands were left everywhere. When we brought this to Brad's attention (supported by photos) and asked what was spilled so we would know how to clean it up, he deflected and was insulting to us. Denying and then trying to blame it on other contractors (there were not any), our landscapers (not) and was combative. We scrubbed the stain ourself and paid for a professional pressure wash of driveway, yet the stains remain. We finally got tired of Brad, paid the second half of bill ($11K) and washed our hands of them. read more

I had a guy come out to give us an estimate on hardwood floor repair. It started out on the wrong foot with the person saying that he has been to this house earlier this year and he was very upset that we didn't go with lane hardwood floors. He refused to give us a quote saying how it was a waste of his time and asked to pay him $100 to even give us a quote. I have never experienced this type of service and I was very confused on why the person was very upset, rude, and unprofessional about giving us an estimate. As soon as we told the person we had other quotes so that we can see what other company offer, he immediately changed his behavior and told us to go with the other company. Honestly I never write reviews but this was unacceptable behavior from a company like this and if I could I would give them 0 stars. read more

Lane finished a difficult edge of my 20+-year-old condo floor beautifully and promptly, following two years of frustration with a disappointing general contractor. It was a tiny job that others didn't want - and in a condo building, where some don't like to work. Lane milled pieces onsite to fit, since the original material was no longer available. They wove in the new planks seamlessly. Their price was fair; Brad (the salesman/estimator) was diligent, and Nathan (the installer) was pleasant, knowledgeable, and did a wonderful job cleaning up after himself. I couldn't be more pleased, and I highly recommend them. They're now my go-to company for floors. read more

They were incredible helpful and spent a few hours with us, explaining the pros and cons of a variety of flooring types! This review is so long overdue. We had our oak floors installed 2 years ago, and I am still as in love with them as I was when they were installed. We are constantly getting compliments on how beautiful they are. Brad was wonderful to work with, and walked me through everything. We were in the middle of an extensive remodel, with what turned out to be a dud of a contractor. I hired Lane on my own, and so glad I did. They were the only reliable ones on the job, always on time, worked quickly, and very knowledgable. Brad was my support when things with my contractor went sideways. Lane Hardwood Floors deserves 10 stars! Jeff, the owner, came to our home and gave us a competitive quote for refinishing out hardwood floors. He also provided information about getting our concrete laundry room floor leveled for another type of flooring product and referred us to another quality company for the leveling work. We have maple wood floors that had not been refinished for 22 years. When the wood was new 22 years ago, the installer at that time tried to stain it and it looked terrible. So, we had the stain stripped off by that installer and just had it sealed, etc., but were never happy with how it yellowed as it aged. We had been cautioned by other hardwood floor companies that maple wood is very hard to stain. Jeff and Nathan explained to us that stained maple would look a bit blotchy so that we knew what to expect. It was helpful that they had a sample in their store to look at as well. Let me just say that, yes, maple is hard to stain and it was challenging for the Lane team. However, they guarantee their work 100% and they lived up to that promise 100%. They worked on our floor until it met our satisfaction. In addition, the wear and tear in some places was quite severe. Nathan and his team were able to obliterate gouges that we thought would have been impossible to remove. Nathan is prompt, reliable, meticulous, thorough and a great communicator. We have nothing but the highest regard for Jeff, Brad (the office manager who handled all our inquiries) and Nathan. You would not regret working with this company. They are entirely customer focused. read more

When we bought our house in December, we discovered stained, red oak floors beneath the carpet. (Boooo stains. Hooray oak!) Brad from Lane Hardwood Floors checked them out and went over our options - water or Swedish finish? replace sections if they don't get sanded out? start Monday or Wednesday?. A week and a few thousand (reasonable) dollars later, our house looked incredible. The smell of the Swedish finish literally made me cry, but once it aired out, it was totally worth it. A month and a half later, the floors still look awesome, despite our pup's tendency to sprint and slide all over our the house. This was our first "big" house project, and it was 100% worth it. The folks at Lane were prompt, communicated well, and if there was a situation that could go more than one way, they called to let us make the decision instead of them. Plus, they showed us samples of the different finishes on our floor which ended up changing our original decision for the better. Oh, and one extra perk! When one of the employees showed up on the first day, our truck was dead. He saw us trying to deal with it, and he used his former-mechanic expertise to help us start it up. Nice floors and a functioning truck? H yes, Lane. Every employee we talked to was pleasant and helpful, and they made our floors look fabulous. Use these guys! read more

I was was refinishing my own hardwood floors and stopped at Lane to see if they sold wood putty. I drive past the store almost daily but had no idea if they sold supplies, or were just a showroom for their installs. I figured it was worth stopping in to ask - I'd rather give a company like that my money than a HD or Lowes. When I walked in the one salesperson was on the phone but immediately acknowledged me, smiled, and gave me a "one minute" sign with his finger.....not a problem I thought. He seemed polite and genuine with the customer on the phone. When he finished the phone conversation he got me what I needed and even threw in some free advise. At one point he had to go dig through one of the vans to get some materials to better explain his "how-to" lesson. The salesman was working alone, his phone kept ringing, yet he still gave me his undivided attention and didn't rush me....even though it was only a $25 sale. For that I give them 5 stars and would recommend them to others! read more

If there were a higher rating than 5 stars Lane Hardwood Floors would get it. From the estimate to the final bill they did everything right. My husband and I had hardwood floors that had been covered by wall to wall carpeting for many years. Once we uncovered them we found some boards that had to be replaced but essentially they were mostly old growth red oak and had the potential to be beautiful. On the first day of the project, Mike from Lane explained what they would be doing, kept us up to date along the way and finished on time and within what I thought was a very reasonable budget. He arrived on time every morning and kept the site clean. In the midst of the project Jeff Lane came out and talked to us about some decisions we had to make and gave us options and estimates. Thanks to Lane Hardwood Floors for a job well done. I love my new floors!!! read more

These guys are incredibly professional and know what they are talking about. I have a room that needs to get sanded/finished and was in a time crunch; the GM came out to my place same-day to try to squeeze me in the next day and had a fair price for the work. What was impressive, besides the professionalism in the bidding process, was the amount of knowledge. We had Lane Hardwood Floors out twice to do work at our home. Once in 2014 for 1500 sq feet of floors plus 18 stairs. The work they did was great. They showed up on schedule and their work was performed at the estimated cost. We also had them out a few weeks ago to add hardwoods in our upstairs hallway. Another job we are happy to have them do. The work turned out great. There where a few minor billing issues but Brad quickly took care of the issues. Our only grip is on each job the person delivering the wood a few weeks before would show up without warning. We had to give out our door code to someone we didn't know to let them in since we where out of town. Other than that the work they do is excellent. read more

We have had our floors done two other times and this is by far the best. They kept things extremely clean while working and left it very clean at the conclusion. If I could give negative stars to Lane Hardwood Floors I would. I should have known after the crew arrived smelling of dope but we went ahead. During the course of the refinishing our floors they pulled a toilet (expected), ruptured the supply line (not expected), turned off the WATER HEATER(why?who knows?), turned the water heater back on and then it basically exploded in our garage. Two calls to plumbers (two bills to us). Upon return to the house after the required time away)there was stain on walls (upper walls), stain high up on trim (these are not small areas of baseboard), tape stained into the hardwood and stain on, wait for it, our tiled marble entry too. Now I'm facing a large painting bill and no idea how to clean the tile. So expect not only Lane's bill but bills from plumbers and painters too. We've received no acknowledgment of these extra costs or offers to reimburse even part. Do not hire this company. read more

While the core of their business is installation and refinishing, they we're extremely nice, knowledgeable and helpful. They provided some very useful tips and didn't try and up sell me on things I didn't need. I plan to use these guys on future projects. I was in the proces of purchasing a home and had some concerns about the quality of the floors and called Lane to come out and do an estimate. Assuming I was going to get some jacked up estimate I was pleasantly surprised when the Lane representative (I believe it was one of the owners) complimented the finish work that our floors had and explained the issues we were seeing were par for the course with this certain material. These guys were very diligent and creative in working our relatively small job with a crazy tight schedule into their work flow. We had a great experience previously when they refinished the floors throughout our house so we went back to them for another wood floor project. They really worked with us to make it happen, including expediting the shipment of the materials needed for the job. This is no better company to use in the Puget Sound area. At the end of 2015, we had a major remodel to do on our house, and decided to get multiple bids for someone to do our floors. Jeff and company were more than helpful at helping decide which floors were in our best option but he also was great at listening to our desires - making them the easy choice. We did our research, as everyone seems to do these days on the Internet, but both Brad and Jeff gave us their honest opinion about finishes, flooring types and stains. They brought samples to give us a real-life experience of the floor that would fit our home. We had to leave town for a family vacation and they were very accommodating and did their best to work around our schedule. From the stairs to the kitchen to the hallways, their work was amazing and I would recommend to anyone. Found Lane Hardwood Floors through the World Wide Web. It has parking available off street which is convenient and they have a lovely showroom which has lots of flooring to look at. It is very pleasant and it is easy to view lots of options including lots of solid hardwood flooring. I was interested in solid hardwood floors. Sales person asked....." why not engineered floors?" I said I did not want engineered flooring. He asked for my reasons. AND then he told me my reasoning was faulty ; engineered floors are a better buy in an overall comprehensive way. read more

I have had to revise my formerly positive review about Lane Hardwood Floors. While the floors looked GREAT upon completion, within 6 months, only the boards thatLane Hardwoods replaced separated and bowed showing the subfloor in the gaps. I contacted Lane Hardwoods and they came out and filled the gaps, which didn't look perfect and didn't solve the bowing, but was acceptable. The following winter the filling popped out and Lane advised me that it was due to the cold and so-called "movement in my floors" that was not their responsibility, they would fill it again as a courtesy but after that, not their problem. After many back and forths, it became clear that Lane Hardwoods was NOT going to honor it's guarantee of satisfaction, that instead their approach is to blame my floors/house for what looks like shoddy workmanship (nevermind that the ONLY area that looks bad is the area where Lane replaced the wood). So here I am, many, many thousands of dollars spent and a floor with one section, redone by Lane, that looks really crappy. Their ultimate position is... too bad for you. Hardly a guarantee of satisfaction. Condescending, too, in that it's obvious something is wrong with just the place they redid, not the entire house or floor. I will not use them again nor will I recommend them. They might do engineered floors just fine, but based on how they handled this botched genuine hardwood job, I can't in good faith recommend them for anything. If something goes wrong with their work, you're on your own. read more

Lane Hardwoods did a beautiful job of installing the hardwood floor in my kitchen, but when you open the refrigerator door you can see a gap where the second finish stops. They are telling me that it is a shadow, but it really is an uneven finish. If I were to replace the refrigerator it could really show. I hired Eide Construction to do the floor and they contracted with Lane Hardwoods. Neither company has been cooperative in setting the matter. Lane says I would need to move everything out of the kitchen and they would sand and re-finish the floor again. He says this, knowing it is way too much over-kill and hopes I will go away. I have heard nothing from Eide Construction and it was over a $5000 job for a tiny kitchen. I am being blown off and I am disappointed in their customer service and follow up. read more
