Walk past all the Knick knacks and country gifts and you'll find a tiny gem of a bakery the back. It's small, deceiving in a good way, as the treats are really good. I didn't get pics, tho I had the pecan brownie and grabbed some blueberry pastries. Both were were wicked good! Brownie was moist but good crisp on the outside. The pastures stayed overnight for breakfast. God taste, not overly sweet, worth the grab.

When I picked it up, it did not look like my inspiration pictures. There were purple flowers on the sides with pink one (no purple in the inspiration pic), no pearls, no vintage lattice work-just pipped the flowers on the sides with green stems (no stems in the pic) and the top writing. I was disappointed. I asked them to include blue flowers to balance out that it felt a little too girly, and they went back and added them which made it look better. I am not sure if the inspo pics got lost in the shuffle or if too much creative lee-way was taken but either way, I felt a little let down but was not going to let it ruin my day. However, on the drive home I still felt like it was pretty, but just not what I had in mind. I decided to call Bittersweet which is local to us and ask if they could add a few elements like the lattice and pearls. Faith was so kind on the phone and told me to bring it in being also clear that they aren't gluten free. I understood, but since we don't have true allergies I told her I was comfortable with them fixing it. It would not medically harm anyone if there was cross contamination. When I got there I showed her the original picture and sent it to her personal phone. Later I went to pick it up after taking my little to lunch, it came out it and was FANTASTIC! They added all the elements it was missing that I wanted and loved. It still doesn't exactly match my pictures but it looks SO cute now and I am very very happy! When I went to pay, she told me to just go enjoy my cake and that they were happy to help. THIS is how you win business, friends!! ANYTIME, I am ordering goodies, back to school treats for teachers, holiday yummies or cakes that aren't for my GF kids, I will be getting them from Bittersweet!!!! Thank you, Faith!!!

She apologized and agreed to fully refund the cake. She did not offer any solutions for the day of the event. She gave me stories on why she couldn't pay the money back immediately, and because I had used her previously, I tried to give her the benefit of the doubt and offered several options to resolve. but kept giving me excuses about the refund, and after a while just stopped responding. I find it hard to believe that someone would take money paid for a service, not provide the service and then completely disappear.

I will say that I was not really greeted and the girl seemed to feel a little uncomfortable behind the counter. maybe she was standing in for somebody I'm not sure. She was not really friendly, but that's OK, I was friendly. I chose a Sundae cupcake, which was adorable, but unfortunately fell over on the way home due to my driving!
