DO NOT recommend - CROSS-COUNTRY MOVE TOOK OVER 1MONTH They are unresponsive and are looking to only take money from you. I was told I would have a personal coordinator throughout my move that was the first lie. After Heather the "personal coordinator" collected money from me via Zelle she was unreachable. Such bad customer service - I'm really disappointed. They also said that the amount can easily be lowered after booking - this is NOT true. Once you paid you initial deposit the INITIAL DEPOSIT is NON-REFUNDABLE. What a business. Hey haven't done anything for you and lock you in these contracts - odd. Once the DISPATCH TEAM arrived they said the AMOUNT CAN NOT be lowered due to inventory / contract, but only be HIGHER. Weird. DO NOT RECOMMEND. read more

STAY AWAY. These people are low life criminals. They picked up my two-bedroom apartment on 12/10/20. Tacked on an additional $1500 for boxes and having to walk an extra ten feet ( I will NOT pay it) then told me I had to "tip" the crew. It's been four days. I'm now in South Carolina and everything I own is still in California. Each time I call for an update, I either get no response or a lame excuse. Yesterday I was informed that my belongings are still in storage in California! They should have been on a truck and more than halfway here by now. They do not return calls either. It's Christmas and all my daughter's gifts are somewhere in California. I was assured that the truck would be here by Christmas. I reported them to the federal dept of transportation. read more

I don't normally write Yelp review, but I feel compelled to steer other consumers away from this company. They initially told me that typical time to deliver my furnishings was 10-14 days. It took much longer. The fine print on the contract stipulated that they must deliver within 30 business days, or approximately six weeks. My fault for failing to read the fine print. They took four days longer than that. By contract, they owe me $30.00 for every day over that, but they have denied that claim arbitrarily; no reason given. During the time they stored my items, it was damaged by rodents. There were holes in upholstery, shredded books, A chair destroyed. The source of the damage is not in doubt- I found rat feces in several places. I provided pics and the required documentation. They have yet to settle my claim, and it has been two months. Had they provided that minimal compensation their own contract stipulates, I would consider the issue settled, despite the problems. Unfortunately, they appear to be a company that has to be forced by legal threat to act responsible. A report has been filed with the Better Business Bureau. read more

Always moving, how much do I hate thee? Let me count the ways. I never booked with always moving. On my moving day, they showed up and said they were contracted by Safeway Movers. When they found out we had to be out of the house in two days, always moving decided things like large boxes and wardrobe boxes were not part of the contract and they upped the cost by $2,000. What were we supposed to do? After everything was packed they drove away. They said it would take a maximum of 10 days to drive it from California to New England but the contract allowed 20 "just in case". After 10 days we called dispatch and spoke to Barbara (she is also the customer service rep). Barbara is an evil disgusting human being who takes pleasure is being a rude miserable cur. After 20 days came and went she said they have 20 business days to get our delivery to our home. When 20 business days came and went and we called she said we should feel lucky because our stuff has left California. She said she couldn't tell me where our stuff was because it was a theft issue (as if I was going to fly to whatever state the truck was in to steal) After 40 days and no delivery, I started digging. Found out the office in Mt Kisco, NY where there DOT license is listed is not real. There is an office building there but according to the building management, Always Moving stopped paying rent and no longer gets mail there. I found their listed owner Tito, who claims to be "warehouse manager" is the front man for the real owner Mateo in Florida. Also found out that Always Moving is going out of business soon and will reopen under another name. Mateo is under federal investigation for wire fraud. Anyway after 50 days always moving finally delivered after a consumer report investigation was opened in NY. Bottom line, the company is criminal do not use. This company is the worst. I was "sold" how great they were by their slick saleswoman Heather (and by Move Buddha whom I will also be contacting) who promised to be my contact throughout and after the cross country move (NJ-CA). She disappeared the minute I gave my deposit. We could not get in touch with anyone to deliver our stuff once we were in CA. We called and left over 20 messages. Finally someone called us back on a Friday at 2 pt and told us they could deliver at 8am the next day but we had to have ~ $4k in cash. After explaining that we needed more time to get that kind of cash, they said our delivery would need to be rescheduled. Long story short, we finally got our stuff delivered today (2 months later) and they charged us an additional $630 redelivery fee (they never attempted to deliver). This company is a fraud and run by amateurs. Do not use them. I will be filing with the Better Business Bureau, among other agencies to w sure others do not go through what we did. They literally held our belongings hostage until we agreed to pay the extra fee. read more

They are great at negotiating, then your move comes and they are late, don't honor the contract and charge you extra on the spot if you want your items. The string of bad reviews unbelievable. DO NOT USE. I could not agree more with the reviews below. This company should not be in business all the day is break your stuff and rob you of money. First I was connected with Chris Johnson (Safeway movers)who literally screwed up everything from start and then once he had me deposit legit hung up on me and stopped answering my calls. Not only did he write all my boxes down as one size... he promised me things that did not happen or I had to be charged for. He also told me that the sooner my items would get picked up the sooner they would get to me. It was a Chicago to San Diego move. Then when I called always moving after my stuff got picked up they told me all my things were sitting in a storage unit somewhere for almost 2 weeks!!! WHAT. You try to call dispatch to find out where your truck is. THEY HAVE NO IDEA! The drivers don't even check in with the company. How is that even possible? JEREMY IS THE WORST. Over promises under delivers. This company charges a long carry fee. 100 feet is free and every additional 50 feet is 70 dollars. WHO CHARGES THIS??? Because they bought a huge truck it couldn't fit into the loading dock so they CHARGED me for the feet starting from where they parked the truck. Why is that the clients issue? My building had a loading dock with an elevator near by. Why should the customer me charged because the movers bought to big of a truck. Didn't provide the right information to coordinate the move, which I found the hard way. Do not explain terms about additional costs for using a smaller truck. Broke a lot of my furniture during the move, and will not process my claim after 6 months. BEWARE!! Do NOT use this company, they are absolute SCAMMERS! They will try to SCAM you out of thousands of dollars!!! This is long, but please read it and consider using literally anyone else for your move, I beg you. We used a different company and got a quote from them and they ended up outsourcing our move to Always Moving Inc. Had we known what would occur with this joke of a company we would have loaded a UHAUL ourselves and saved thousands. My husband and I had been planning our cross-country move for months. Verified our inventory list several times and made sure not a single item was unaccounted for. When Always Moving Inc. arrives, one of the guys gets out of the truck and URINATES outside in our complex!!!! There are children that live there and this man is exposing himself in the middle of a public, common area to urinate into a bush!!!! WTF, I immediately was disgusted. Then they walk in our house, take one look around and try to tell me that we were "way underquoted" and want us to pay them $2,500 additional on the spot in cash or personal check. So incredibly shady, so I called the original company, Proud American Vanlines, who quoted me and I asked them what items were not included on the inventory list to justify the $2,500 increase in price. He first tried to convince us our couch was "oversized" (it absolutely is not and even if it was, that alone doesnt warrant a $2,500 price increase). Needless to say, he couldn't find anything additional that wasn't on the list, and on the original quote. At this point they had already arrived 8 hours and one day late, and we still had a 10 hour drive ahead of us, so we very reluctantly let them start loading after telling them we absolutely are not paying them a dime more than what we were quoted. They were furious when we didnt fall for their scam and I wrote in an addendum on the paperwork they had us sign. They even tried to tell us all our stuff wouldn't fit and as soon as my husband went out with a tape measure it miraculously fit, because they were lying and trying to scam us to make extra cash under the table at our expense. I can't imagine the number of people that this company has scammed this way! It's absolutely deplorable!!! You can absolutely tell that the manager onsite Tito was trying to teach one of the other crew members how to setup the scam and lay the foundation to try to get us to panic and pay them extra in cash. I immediately called the original moving broker, Proud American Vanlines, and opened up a formal complaint case against this carrier and they started an internal investigation. Our items are currently in storage and I have been guaranteed that this carrier will have no further contact with our items. Do not use this company! We have been in the military for over 22 years and this by far is the WORST move experience. They are a complete scam and do not care! The company does NOT logistically run efficiently and overcharge for the service they provide. They do not answer your phone calls or call you back. We had 1 full and a 1/4 full 26' box trucks of household goods and are being charged $14,243.00 for a 963 mile move (we also packed all of our own boxes-we only had them pack approximately 10 boxes). Small breakable items they packed also broke. They cannot tell you where your goods are at and they do not deliver on the date you provide. The company claims they have 21-30 days after the preferred drop off date to deliver - this is not discussed up front. They delivered 1 truck full of goods and the driver did not bring anyone to download - he asked us if we had friends that could assist. We also put in the notes we needed empty and full weight slips - the driver did not provide, he had to drive to a weigh station to get full weight but would not give us empty weight ticket. After waiting 4 hours for him to return - the two gentlemen they hired at the last minute waited 3 hours (thankfully) and downloaded the truck. BOTTOM LINE DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY, THEY OVERCHARGE AND CONTINUE TO TACK ON CHARGES. THEY WERE SUBCONTRACTED OUT BY AMERICAN NATIONAL MOVING. read more

I don't recommend this business! its a nightmare use at your own peril: the moving consultant called Eric Scott fed us a slew of lies regarding storage and delivery then they ignored our calls once we paid. Our things took close to 3 months from CA to VA in contrast to what they had initially told us. Then there was a Heather customer service very condescending and arrogant over the phone. As as if that wasn't enough they contracted a two man business to deliver our things in VA (this was supposed to be 8-10 man power job) took close to 8 hrs and broke our things and we lost our new vacuum. Couldn't get any one over the phone after that. What a nightmare, irresponsible, no integrity, greedy no concern whatsoever for the client. DO NOT HIRE!! read more

After the first truck was loaded, they charged us over $9000 extra. They did not unpack upon arrival, as was part of the contract; we received no refund for this. As we opened our boxes ourselves, we found non-existent attention to correct packing, with flattened lampshades, damaged items, and broken dishes. Every piece of wooden furniture we own is damaged; one piece had to go to the dump, as it could not be repaired. They refused to discuss compensation; they offered less than $100. Gave 1 star because 0 is not offered as an option. I used this company because I made the mistake of using a "moving broker" (Allpro Moving in Florida) and they set this unfortunate match up. Move was from Memphis, TN to Seattle, WA. Trouble began when they arrived and immediatley started "padding" the quote: redefining box sizes, selling me $200 rolls of tape, etc. It continued with me waiting two months over the "21 day" delivery time. 11 weeks of waiting for my stuff, of being put on hold for at least an accumulated week of piped music, of being sold fairy tales like "we didn't do your move, someone stole out stationery", and being tossed back and forth between them and the "broker", Allpro. When the stuff finally arrived (picked up in August, delivered in November) four boxes were missing, others were crushed, plastic totes delivered in smitherines, and a number of furniture pieces bearing large gashes an missing chunks of wood. I got a similar runaround filing my claim. ("we didn't do your move, someone used our stationery", "you didn't file the claim", "you REfiled the claim so we can't process it"... Just to cite a few choice responses). In February they "assigned" a representative to send me periodic "we will make this right, I am on the case" notifications. And.... And then they just broke all contact and stopped responding to me. They have not compensated me for the extra long wait, they have not reimbursed me for the stolen boxes, they have not offered any sort of compensation from the damaged items, and don't even mention any consideration for anything I had to purchase so that I can function while I wait nearly three months for my stuff. Horrible company. They damaged most all of my furniture, stole several items and have now ghosted me. I have sent numerous emails with 50 pictures of the damage but no response to my claim. It has been over 2 months since I first contacted them about the damage and stolen items. Numerous calls have gone unanswered and now their phones state that they are not set up for calls! Wow, reading the other reviews is really sobering, I just wish we had read these prior to our move........HORRIFIC nightmare of a move. Identical scenarios that others have described. Double the cost that was "promised" and 4 extra weeks to deliver. One of the many cancellations was during our 13 hour drive and resulted in a 5 night stay in a DC hotel. This is a travesty and financially crippling for my student daughter. I will not let this situation go without some fight but please do not ever consider using this company. Always Moving is a horrible company. Our movers were supposed to arrive between 8 and 11 am. They arrived at 4 pm. We had no idea when we would receive our furniture. Finally they called (on a Tuesday( to say it would arrive the next day on a Wednesday. We waiting around at our empty house all day Wednesday and they did not show until Thursday. Finally, they damaged a bookshelf badly. We filed a claim and were told we would receive the funds. It has been 7 months and we never received our money. We are constantly given the run around when we call. Do not book!!! They made our move so stressful. read more

Hands down worst moving experience I've ever had. I've moved frequently in state out of state and internationally and NEVER had to endure the lack of professionalism and overt disregard for customer satisfaction. They didn't take all our furniture in first go and took 5 days to pick up the remainder. They didn't deliver the full load and took a week to deliver the remainder despite charging us an additional $850 to guarantee a 4 day delivery window. They charged another $150 waiting fee because we had to get a money order out after they'd arrived at the property despite the fact that we had a 4 hour journey to get to the property and they only told us they were arriving that day 2 hours before arrival. Their processes are not transparent and the customer is completely at their mercy. The guys who delivered didn't want to put furniture into specific rooms or carry things upstairs. They threatened to leave several times because the job was too hard. My husband promised them a large tip to persuade them to stay but he and I had to help with much of the heavy lifting. DO NOT HIRE THIS COMPANY. This company is absolutely terrible and also extremely deceitful. They give you no information about how your stuff needs to be packed so they can sell you their own upcharged packing materials. They promised the drivers and unloaders would be the same people due to COVID, and that they don't outsource - both lies. They charge you based on the space your stuff is estimated to take up, not how much it actually takes up, so you end up paying for at least 100 cubic feet more. They also don't tell you that the drop off is made by a giant tractor trailer despite the pickup being made with a much smaller vehicle so that way you have to pay a $500 charge for a shuttle for your items from the original truck. We ended up being charged a full $3k more than we were initially quoted. AND, when they break your furniture, they'll have you submit a claim waiver, and mysteriously the customer service representatives who were available to talk any time prior will not answer over 10 phone calls made at all different parts of the working day over the course of an entire month after your move is done. They will disappear without a trace and no one will respond. Huge ripoff, biggest mistake. Worst company ever.
