It may not be polished on the outside but the inside of Beauty Mark felt bright, clean, and comfortable. There is a ton of natural light that makes the ambiance really nice. The bathrooms is a single room, but very clean. Since this spot isn't usually a nail salon, I was the only one getting my nails done in their waiting room area. There was ample space for me, my nail artist + all her supplies, and my stuff. They played local/ Hawaiian music at a nice volume, loud enough to hear but at a volume where you can talk freely without an issue of hearing the other person. However, as I get older, I know I need to take better care of my skin but I don't have the patience. Last year, I decided to microblade my brows because I didn't want the tattooed look like my sister (sorry, Kalei). However, it didn't last long despite my brows getting touched-up twice shortly after. I still had to apply brow shadow. Since last September 2016, I started Crossfit and in July of this year, I began powerlifting. Some days, I don't care if I have makeup and some days I'm coming in straight from the office to train with my mascara (WATER-PROOF) smearing under my eyes, which I wanted to something about it (yes, I'm vain). This is where CJ comes in. I remembered her from the 2017 Crossfit Open and noticed that she is a makeup artist because she helped one of the ladies at Arkaios Crossfit with her makeup for a bodybuilding competition! I started stalking her stylist page on IG and her personal account because I admired her makeup and lash extensions (that's another review in the making). I saw her post on where she got her lashes done and booked an appointment. While I was making an appointment for my lashes, I inquired with the gal if she did powder brow tattooing and she recommended me to CJ! Talk about fate. CJ is one of the brow specialist at Beauty Mark. She also does makeup as well too. I texted CJ shortly after and she was able to squeeze me in the beginning of December. Beauty Mark Honolulu located in the McCully area on South King Street is easy to find. If you're familiar where Pineapple Patio, Beauty Mark is across the street in a building on the 2nd floor. Don't let the appearance of the building alarm you (its circa 1970ish, I think) because once you enter the salon, it's like you're in another world like the beauty salon of Narnia. It's relaxing, clean and the vibe is friendly where you are immediately at ease. For each of their services, they'll have you fill out a form to provide information on yourself as well as consenting to doing the procedures. With CJ, I chose to do the powder brow tattoo because in my opinion from the picture I've seen as well as searched online, it's a softer look of a regular tattooed eyebrows. CJ will work with you on your eyebrows until you're satisfied with the recommendations as well. She'll go over with you what she will do before and during the procedure. She will also take a before and after photo of your brows. NOTE: The procedure itself wasn't painful. Overall, a great experience because of CJ. If you're interested in powder brow, I highly recommend CJ at Beauty Mark Honolulu.

Her space is quiet and soothing and impeccably decorated. Tami quickly cleaned up and tinted my brows - I'm fair/blonde/blue-eyed so the color is always a bit tricky - too dark and I'm Clara Delevingne - too light and I'm, well, invisible brow woman. And I wear contacts so my attempts at "grooming" my brows is actually laughable. I've now got "brow style and color" that looks great all the time! I was so pleased with her brow work that I returned for the lash tint/perm - that's right - I went all out! It was definitely a new experience - lash perming! - who knew? But the end result is AMAZING. I've now got some dark long lashes, great brows and am really hoping she can tattoo my lips (just kidding - I think - is that a thing too?!)! I can now put my hair up and roll out the door in less than five minutes. I'm scheduling my ongoing standing appointments now!

After doing some research I learned about plasma treatment which is an alternative to injections which I wanted to avoid. Megan was very professional and knowledgeable during the consultation. She answered all my questions and drew on a set of brow measurements to see exactly which areas were sparse. The actual procedure was fairly painless though certainly kind of weird to have someone with needles near your eyes. Luckily she was quick and efficient. Afterwards my brows looked so thick and full! After a few days it peels like a sunburn and gets a little flaky. You have to baby them a lot - no sun, no soaking in water, keep it clean. After they peeled it almost looked like it fell out in places. Megan reassured me that they would come back darker in a few weeks when fully healed. Now that it has been 2 months I can really see a difference. I have yet to go to my touch up, but honestly I'm pretty satisfied as they are. Thank you so much Megan! Highly recommended!
