First time in after decades of chain coffee shops. Food choices were varied and included hot and cold, sweet and savory, and gluten free options. Coffee profile (cold brew for me) was much more complex than typical run of the mill chain coffee, and the house made caramel syrup was amazing. Service was attentive and friendly but a bit slow - only one person working but it's a family owned small business and not unreasonable. The decor and furniture are bright and rustic. There's a family friendly corner with a few toys and high chairs and a group of moms with toddlers were enjoying their time. Not a place to let the kids run amok, but I certainly wasn't seeing that. There's also a cozy seating area with a couch and comfy chairs. The total cost was a little more than I expected but I honestly didn't look at prices ahead of time so that's on me. Good coffee, nice person making it. Older gentleman who seems to be a regualr was loud and negative. Nobody wants to try to enjoy their coffee w a side of agita... Bagel was ok and they don't put the cream cheese on for ya , so you have to stop and unwrap and get a knife and spread the cream cheese, and there isn't enigh of it.. Not a good experience for me. Absolutely love that there is a new coffeeshop in Southbury; much needed! Right on Main Street, there is a cute coffeeshop with a range of coffee available as well as amazing syrups that can be added in. They have other beverages as well and offer a small selection of pastries and bagels. Highly recommend!! We love the space and cant wait to see what else they do! read more

This new spot in town just opened days before Christmas! AM Coffee & Co features Kash & Liv house-made syrups as well as local Bagelman Bagels (GF options) and Uncle Matts pastries. They offer milk alternatives, bulk bagels to go and a variety of swag (plus a cute little book library). Lots of parking available out front, seating (tables for two), couches/chairs available to dine in. Definitely worth a stop in and its conveniently located off of I-84 when passing through. read more

I was seeing all the social media and was excited to get a quality local coffee shop in town. I was so disappointed. I'm not saying the coffee was bad. It just wasn't outstanding like a local coffee shop should be. I ordered a latte with oat milk, and a bagel with cream cheese. I thought it was really tacky for a local coffee shop to throw the bagel in a bag with a little plastic tub of cream cheese and a plastic knife! I can get that at Dunkin' Donuts. The coffee game needs to get stepped up. I recommend the owners take a drive up to Salisbury and check out Sweet Matthews. This is the type of coffee shop. Our town is looking for. We already have Starbucks and Dunkin' Donuts. This isn't any better for more$$$. I absolutely wouldn't mind paying more money for a nice artisan cup of coffee. My friend and I were so impressed at our coffees from Sweet Matthews that we actually took a photo from a couple of weeks ago. This is what Southbury is looking for. I also did not appreciate having to go through the step of deciding whether or not I was going to leave a tip for the person to hand me a bagel in a bag and a cup of coffee. There are services that our tip worthy, and you are welcome to put a little container on the counter, but handing a bag and a cup of coffee is not 15 to 20% tip worthy. read more
