What a range of reviews they have. I'll add this short one. I had a slider that let storms into the ceiling of my bedroom below. Previous contractors failed to repair it diligently. The rain has not yet come this season but AMAC was the only vendor that ran a hose and deluged the slider after making a patch. The deluge did not enter the bedroom. My fingers are crossed. Since they were in the house already and since my bedroom was tore up to get at the inside of the ceiling and with the curtains all open the carpet really showed its age and I had been considering having a wood floor put in so in for a penny in for a pound and I requested a quote and it was reasonable. They asked if I'd like to procure the materials so as to save the markup and I have a stout ride so spent a day at all the Lumber Liquidators in the Bay Area for as none seem to have everything you need in stock at the same location and 1,000 pounds of floor schlepped from the garage to my living space what a workout and I was ready for them and happy I saved 500 clams of markup. Because of certain details the job took twice as long as I expected. I just gave them my keys and got used to wondering where my bed would be tonight as they moved it from one place to another each day. Baudelia, the service rep who put up with my incessant whining was awesome and as soon as she realized I needed constant updates she gave them without having to be asked. And. Even though the job took longer than they anticipated they honored their original estimate no questions asked. The men in my house over the summer months were courteous, diligent and friendly. Their work when it was finished gave my space a much needed upgrade. Even now two months after they finished when I walk down the stairs they did into the room they did I smile. I wouldn't even give them 1 star. Had a flood downstairs. Amac was recommended by property manager. Another contractor had to come in and repair their "repairs "! I hope I have enough letters to share the horrific job Amac did. They laid hardwood in the wrong direction after being told which way to lay it. Amac laid it over a nut so there was a lump in the middle of the floor. Rather than paint the baseboards prior to installing they put them on and then painted them without any painter's tape so Amac left the over-paint on the walls. Amac left cords from an old landline on top of the flooring in walkway. I could go on and on... The entire job was AWFUL. read more

We had a weird situation in our covered patio that needed to be dealt with before we could install new flooring. AMAC were quick to respond, did an outstanding job, (even built custom shims to level the floor!), and consistently went above and beyond to deliver outstanding work. Recommend by our 30 year + carpet company. House call was made to estimate and bid. We accepted the bid and scheduled the job. We experienced a minor scheduling challenge . However, the crew did an outstanding job on our first carpet cleaning of our new carpet. We were very surprised and happy that they were able to clean and remove a stain. Will definitely use again . I wouldn't recommend using this company. Something flew out of one of their work trucks and smashed my windshield. I tried several times ovwr 2 weeks to be fairly compensated for the damages ($208 for replacement windshield installation), but was ignored by owner. They are claiming no responsibility and replied "thank you and sorry for the inconvenience". If this company will not take responsibility for their actions, they'd be just as careless with your property. Buyer beware! read more

Looks like these guys sort of do it all. This company was,recommended to me by my insurance agent to fix or replace a section of my fence. The owner ? was very good about answering my calls and following up for the estimate. However, it was obvious after getting a quote to replace 60' of fencing, he didn't want the job. He promised to quote for, a repair and replacement, but I only received a replacement quote for nearly $4000! Mind you, the fence is a simple redwood fence with lattice panels attached. The warning signs from the owner/estimator were the fact he told my neighbor, he'd include some replacement boards for other sections of fence for free, in the job. There are only a few, but my neighbor obviously didn't want to share in the coast of repairing sections of fence he didn't share! I can't blame him and felt Amac should know better. My fence shares with four different neighbors. The other warning signs were a couple of unprofessional comments from the owner, such as overly stating what a nice neighborhood we lived in, as if he felt I had plenty of $$ to spend on his highly inflated quote! He also mentioned our insurance agent's father, asking me if I knew who he was, then stating he was a"big shot." Exactly what he was saying wasn't clear, but I do where this person lives and felt the reference was about his wealth. While I'm sure it may be true, the comment was unprofessional and again made as if money was no object to him or perhaps the gentleman's friend's or acquaintances. This is why I'm rating AMAC with a two star review and felt potential customers should know how this company thinks. If he didn't want the job, he should have just ball parked an estimate and not wasted anyone's time... I also find it very odd that the other reviews here are from folks in other states thousands of miles from here. I'm sure they could be property owners, but there are too many and induce suspicion... I am posting today because I am still finding shoddy work after hiring this company 3 years ago. We were TOTALLY RIPPED OFF!! 1) Wrong Linoleum placed then just covered with the correct one. 2) Garbage Disposal Overflow not correctly installed. 3) Seams in carpet between rooms. 4)Over the stove microwave installed incorrectly (vent not set up AT ALL then duct taped. 5,6,7,8,9, etc. I could keep going... Plus it was OVERPRICED! We recently did a whole remodel and had such a pleasurable experience with competent workers. I think AMAC hires from the front of Home Depot. We got the quote and then never saw him again until it was time for payment. Tip for the owner : Stop writing your own reviews. read more

When a sewage pipe burst underneath our house and raw, foul smelling sewage made the house unbearable to be in, AMAC Construction was the company we trusted to get it out. They did a fantastic job. Not only did they have an innovative way of removing the contaminated material, but they did it accurately, quickly and professionally. The workers were very careful with the removal operation, cleaned up and took care of everything. The repair of the pipe was done by Belfast Plumbing (see my review of them, they were great too). The estimate was fair and we would definitely use them again - though I hope we never have a sewage pipe break again. If this is what you're facing, you can trust these guys to make the whole problem go away. read more

Having a fire in your home SUCKS. Working with Amac, however, doesn't. Andy and his team made cleaning up and rebuilding as positive as an experience as it could possibly be. From giving an up front "exactimate" (an estimate that is guaranteed on price- which, btw, was less than another contractor's estimate by over 10K), to finishing ON TIME, working with Amac was a pleasure. In fact, my loft looks better than it ever has. The contractors on the team went above and beyond to make sure their work was perfect and even fixed things that weren't damaged due to the fire. AMAC construction helped me get a rental house ready to sell and I would highly recommend them for any other project. This house was really rough, so much so that realtors would get really weird looks on their faces when I would bring them there to interview. Tyler and Jose helped me find the best solutions for the various problems in that house. I had no idea who I could turn to for several of those problems, but after going through with Tyler and discussing my concerns he provided solutions I was completely unaware of. Having worked with contractors in the past that, do not show up when they say they will, do not do they work agreed upon, and or have huge upward spikes in cost, it was such a relief to not deal with any of those problems with AMAC. AMAC gets no stars. RUN FOR YOUR LIFE! They are the absolute worst company to do business with! The father Ed McCoulough to this group of royal fu#$%*& was the one who tried to do me. Thank God for my attorney. I won this case. AMAC still owes me $2000.00 and I am still considering pulling their license. It's the same old story. They took forever so much so that the housing market changed and I was barely able to sell the 2 houses next door to each other when they finished their work. They painted same walls as many as six times to keep themselves working. Some days they showed up and some days they didn't and did not call. I kept asking for a updated amount and was consistently put off, saying he was working on it. I smelled a rat and decided to pay what I thought I owed. My payment to their office happen bump heads with Ed McCoulough's legal action to attach a lein to my property. They still had not sent me a statement. I immediately asked to be faxed the amount they said I owed them. The amount of the repairs according to McCoulough's office was $4000.00 less than the payment I sent them. McCoulough refuse to remove the lein because he wanted double the amount he billed me because he knew that I was selling the property and finally had a tentative buyer. The mortage service said they were obligated by law to pay the lein amount to McCoulough upon closing. I had to pay multiple times the amount of the lein to a service to protect my money until an attorney could sort this mess out. The attorney I chose happened to be working on other cases involving AMAC. THANK GOD! I won the case. read more
