Rodney & Scott at True Craft Builders were incredibly knowledgeable and professional while being friendly and easy to work with. They completed a bathroom remodel and carved out a laundry room. They also replaced the interior doors, replaced a sliding glass door, and did a substantial amount of copper and ABS plumbing work in our 60+ year-old house. We wanted to convert a window into a patio door so we can have easier access to the backyard. The way our house was setup, in order to get to the backyard you need to go through the garage. We called in 3 different contractors. We only had one requirement, the contractor be licensed, insured, and bonded. Rodney came by, took some measurements, and within a few days prepared a quote for the work. His estimate was very competitive and we picked his company for the job. From the demo, the electrical work, door install, and the painting, everything was professionally done. One thing that really got my attention was how the guys kept things clean. We hired True Craft Builders for a bedroom and bathroom remodel in our 1950s home. Let's just say our house had its fair share of older home surprises and challenges. We were also 6 months pregnant and needed the project completed on schedule in order to have enough time to complete the nursery. Not only was Rodney and his crew extremely professional and skilled, but they finished the project on time and on budget. Communication was great. They were easy to work with and responsive. Water damage in my hall bathroom forced me to update an outdated eyesore. A referral sent me to Rodney at True Craft Builders. Rodney was a great partner to work with because he fully explains the remodeling process. Even a small bathroom requires a lot of detail from picking tile, faucets, bathtubs, shower enclosures etc. It can be overwhelming. Yelp is great already at weeding out mediocre businesses..But with something like picking a contractor, this definitely requires some extra leg work. Before we started our bathroom floor tiling project, we used Yelp to find the top 3 contractors in our area. We then had each of them come in and provide a job estimate. With this process, we found some big variations. Our first 2 contractors were not only late but one of them quoted us an estimate that was over twice our budget! When we met Rodney of True Craft Builders, he was right on-time. He also quickly assessed our project and quoted us a price that was right within our budget. Given this, we decided to go forward with Rodney. Our existing bathroom shower and tub area uses a natural stone from Italy. We wanted the adjacent floor to be tiled with something that would match this. Within a few days, Rodney was able to locate stone tiles that were a perfect match. Given my crazy work schedule, Rodney worked around this and set aside a job date that worked for me. On the day of the project, Rodney and his team showed up again right on-time. They wasted no time and went to work immediately. In just 6 hours, our bathroom floor was perfectly tiled! We could not be more happy with the look and quality of the work. BOTTOM LINE: Really first-rate, high-quality work done with great efficiency and excellent prices. I will definitely be writing more updates since we plan to have True Craft Builders address all our future home improvement projects! read more

Hands down the best contractors out there. I've worked with a lot of contractors, and am truly blown away by their professionalism, QUALITY of work, courtesy, PRICE, respect, service. Rodney was really great at communicating from start to finish. Whenever a change was made, he'd send over a change order that clearly specified what we both agreed. Rodney's entire crew was incredible, their quality of work was a 10. Sean/Chris, specifically, were incredible to work with. Sean always stayed in top of schedule, and made sure things went smoothly. Chris' work speaks wonders, and he also went the extra mile to design a porch for us that we love. We were lucky to find these guys on yelp! We will certainly use this guys again :) read more

Rod Pacheco and his team are fantastic. We worked with them on a large ($170K+) project in redesigning and relocating our kitchen, removing interior walls, putting in new windows, and creating a great room in our home. The very best thing I can say is that he was on time, on schedule, and on budget. He estimated the job would take 7 months, and he closed in out in 8. After the estimating and contract signing period, the project started on time and the 4 week delay was due to permitting administration with the city. During the delay he communicated with us at every step to inform of progress and what the issues were -- we really appreciated that. The budget overages from the initial estimate were due to our choices in upgrading some materials; we never saw changes in pricing due to issues on his end. His crew was fast, smart, offered suggestions when appropriate, and the worksite was immaculate at the end of every day. His subcontractors were as professional as he is. This guy is a serious pro. Polite, creative, sensitive to budget, communicative, and extremely calm (a quality I came to appreciate). He was on site frequently and collaborated very well with our designer. And when any problems came up - not strictly within his responsibility, even - he solved them. read more

Truecraft rocks! We recently used Rod for a significant remodel job that included the inside and exterior of our house. Rod was highly organized, responsive, and always reasonable in his pricing. He also works with great subcontractors and was careful to inspect their work as thoroughly as his own. The project was well managed from start to finish. We only wish we had found him sooner. We used one of the ultra-expensive (and well known) contractors in the East Bay for a previous remodel, and they didn't come close to the quality of the work, overall project management, and value we received from Rod. All I can say is that Truecraft builders were the best contractors I have ever used. They did two jobs for me on my old house and for both the work and the customer service/communication was fantastic. One of the jobs was a kitchen update and finishing off an unfinished area into a den and the other was a significant amount of exterior and water damage repair. The second was during the start of covid and they were incredibly respectful of the protocols and we always felt safe as the worked. Rod who was our main contact gave very honest, clear, and accurate estimates and was constantly in contact throughout the work providing updates almost daily. For me this was so nice as I was never chasing them down for information or updates. On top of all that they work they did for us was top caliber and I would totally use them again and recommend them to anyone in the Bay Area! read more

Plain and simple, Rodney was awesome to work with. We had to have some stairs fixed a rental condo that we own. We don't live in the area, and it's always nerve-wracking for us anytime we have to find a new worker (plumber, electrician, whatever) to fix the condo without meeting face to face. Thankfully, Rodney was a breeze to work with to coordinate with us and our tenants regarding times to look at the damage and go back to make the repairs. Rodney's bid was less than 50% of another bid that we received, AND he came in under the quoted price. The truth is, he could have charged us what he quoted us, and we'd have paid it and never known better - this guy is very honest. We were very happy with the work True Craft Builders did for us this past fall. We had a list of upgrades and tasks around the house that were a bit beyond our capabilities. Our list included bathroom upgrades, installation of exhaust fans (through the roof), electrical and more. Rodney communicated clearly for the few days he was at the house working. Even during the bidding process Rodney and Sean thoroughly went went through the house and provided recommendations on the best approach to fixing the problem. Other contractors just wanted to put a pillar under the cracked beam. A pillar just seemed like a band-aide to me. Rodney and Sean thought we should replace it. We felt there quality and job ownership was excellent. Additionally, they are all nice guys! When the water needed to be turned off we were warned. True Craft Builders are amazing in my book. They are professional, on time, on budget, great price, and respectful of our home. I needed a contractor to fix the walls after our plumber made major holes in them to reroute all the plumbing in our house. Rodney's team did a fantastic job patching, matching the texture of old walls, and making it look as though nothing had ever happened in our house! They were always careful to clean up everything at the end of every day, so we weren't living with dust from the drywall, and they used lots of plastic sheeting to protect the house. After receiving three different bids for a front porch remodel and added gable for my roof, I chose True Craft Builders. Rodney's prices were the most reasonable and I thought he was a really nice guy. I am extremely happy with his (and his crew's) meticulous work and finished product.
