The food is good but a bit pricey. You would think that with a new Pizza 9 just a block away that they'd try to be competitive. The lady who answers the phone who claims to be the owner is an absolute drag. You can tell that she hates her life. She was rude, very abrasive for me just asking what came on a sub and her voice and tone were that of someone who doesn't want to be inconvenienced by doing her job. She has a horrible attitude problem. Then when I go to pick up the order she asked to see my i.d. which is hilarious. I told her I didn't have it and she said oh so your driving around without a license. Like what fuggin business it is of her's. I just didn't see the point of showing my ID (which I had btw) to pay for a $17.00 that didn't have any alcohol. I'm guessing its a a power dynamic for this miserable woman. Best pizza in the South Valley. This place has been around for years, and the quality has never changed- even when they moved to a new location. You can get the biggest pizza you've ever seen (I think it's a 26 inch or something crazy) to feed everyone at a party, or a personal sized pizza to feed yourself. The food is good but I've had better at their other locations, though I have to say the calzone is a little "loose" and skinny regardless of which location. Of course they are known for their large pizzas which have the "loose" kind of dough as well and being a pizza employee myself I know the same dough is used for everything, most people don't get that. If you want a tighter dough I'd go to Pizza 9 though you won't get as big of a portion. The only pizzeria in town that can match their size and outmatch their thickness would be Saggios/Fastino's. I would still argue Amadeo's is a better fit than Dions if you want good, real Pizza. One good thing I can say about a Amadeo's as a chain is that their pizza is the closest to true Italian pizza. This isn't your New York or Chicago style pizza so keep that in mind going in. This isn't your Pizza Hut either, this is like a true take out experience. I'm sure some locations deliver but I wouldn't count on great service. Especially from this chain. There's a female worker here, older who is especially gruff and short. I understand it's hard being on your feet all day, every day, but come on! This is customer service and if the customer hasn't been rude to you, you ought to be nice and grateful for their service especially considering this is a local city chain. Recommendations for new comers: Start with a 14 inch pizza which is their smaller size but large at most places such as pizza 9, they don't measure in diameter they measure across so their 14 inch might be different than what you're used to, keep that in mind. I wouldn't get wings or anything like that. If you're eating by yourself I would recommend a calzone eaten with a fork and knife and a chicken Caesar salad. For dessert their cinnamon twists (which are much more like cinnamon balls or doughnut holes) are probably the best in town, honestly but you'll need to share or expect left overs from that alone. There honestly are not many options at Amadeo's which is why their menu is mostly just different lunch combos of the same "one or two" pizza slice. read more

The food is great but I'm not sure about the day staff. This is the third time I have went during the day and been treated like a jerk. Its a different person every time but only in the day so I've come to the conclusion from my own anecdotal experience that the day staff has a bug up their you know whats. But the food is great enough to carry the location. The location itself is in a weird place though, you gotta hope to the pizza gods that traffic is slow or sparse so you can actually get in without complications or causing an accident. It is generally clean but drinks are way too expensive. At least the to go cups are big and last all day. I would recommend going at dinner to avoid the day staff, they seem to have their own little clique that takes over the lunch circuit and if you're not part of that group, your not welcome. That isn't to say they are mean, just rude and a bit disarming. That's just my personal opinion though. Other than that everything else is done right and assuming the place isn't packed, parking is good enough. I love their calzones more than the pizza but the pizza is fantastic. Its more of the upstate new York style, long and skinny but still deep dish. They are not stingy when it comes to extra sauce and their toppings seem organic.
