My Chicagoan boyfriend and I have been wanting to try this place for months now and we finally did. However, we went on a day when they were incredibly short-staffed and customers were irritated with how long their orders took. But the pizza was worth the wait as it's as close to authentic Chicago deep dish pizza as you'll get in New Mexico. Also, it's veteran-owned and they provide job opportunities for the disabled. I'm happy to support a business with such values. Just know your pizza may take awhile and the projected order time online might be inaccurate but it will be delicious.

This is long gone, but was the only "real Chicago pizza within driving distance.

Being a native Chicageaux-an, I haven't had a real stuffed pizza in NM since Chicago Pizza in Santa Fe closed up 10 years ago, and UNO Pizzaria closed up in Las Cruces. I resigned myself to having to go out-of-state for a decent one. I can honestly say I found my new pizza parlor and the Classic True Chicago is the family's new, go-to. The kids liked the crust on the pepperoni pan pizza as well, but their palates are not as refined as the adults! Service was perfect; pizza came right out and into our hands. Being a veteran as well, the ambiance was right up my alley too. I forgot to ask if they offered a military discount, but I did order online and that wasn't an option.

Ordered 3 Italian beef sandwiches and a pizza to go. Made the mistake of not looking at the order before we left the restaurant. Not only were all three sandwiches burnt to a crisp but there was also hair in pizza. Sucks that they don't care to take pride in their food and were ok with serving terrible food.

Good deep dish. I would have liked more spice, will try their green chile next time. I DoorDashed from a good distance away and it was delivered timely and the food was still warm.

The sunrise burger is still one of hubby's favorites in the city, and the fries are incredible. I tried the High Point Mac & cheese (green chile mac w/steak sliced on top) and yowza. So much flavor, and the steak was perfectly tender. The restaurant has food nailed. And our server was amazing. Unfortunately, th manager did a poor job estimating how busy they'd be on a Friday night, so the two servers were running ragged. The manager pitched in, but they were playing catch up with the silverware and we had to wait for it when the food arrived. Which, no biggie, but it was a fork when I had steak and my husband had a messy burger. So we right away asked for knives. I pointed out my steak, and the manager got snarky with us like she got it. But then she brought us butter knives. When I got up and went to the bar to ask for a steak knife, her attitude was even faker. I don't abide fake when someone's eyes and mouth clearly say they think you're stupid or annoying or both. As a manager, you learn how to school your face and keep people happy or you don't last in management long. Also, if she miscalculated staffing, then it should have been her job to get into the bathrooms and keep them presentable. They weren't. Paper everywhere, and the walls need some serious touch ups. It's hard for people to trust the food safety if the job-food public areas aren't kept clean and well-maintained, you know? We'll be back because the food IS awesome and we always have an enjoyable meal. But they definitely need to turn an eye toward building upkeep and service.

I've been going there ever since. A few years ago, they added a bakery. It is chock full of delicious cookies, eclairs, cannolis, and you can even get a wedding cake there. Most recently, I went with some coworkers for lunch and ordered the Bella Mozzarella sandwich. Beautiful, thick slices of fresh mozzarella, loaded with tomatoes and basil. The bread was super fresh, and the potato salad was very flavorful. My coworker got an eclair on our way out. I just had a bite and it was divine. The older gentleman behind the counter was courteous and friendly. The atmosphere is laid-back, and the side wall is covered in shelves that contain imported pasta and various other products from Italy. There's a freezer case filled with premade meals and meat. If you haven't been there, it's definitely worth a stop

Over the years I keep going back, about once a year: I've had their sandwiches, their pastries, their pies . . . all kinda "meh" and all priced pretty reasonably but not inexpensively. Sandwiches give you a lot of everything . . . except flavor. Pastries are . . . fine. Pies are . . . fine, and kinda small (and not inexpensive, maybe reaching towards pricey); it's the kinda thing you are willing to pay for in order to bring it to a gathering, only to find almost no one bothers to eat it. And so you don't bother. The cookies are pretty good, actually. (And, yes, I know Italian delis - my Italian grandparents brought me to them in New York when I was a child. However, I'm not judging Tully's against these (as in "it's not as good as Back East"), I'm just saying it never really turns my crank.) Today I had a hot chicken, cheese, onion and pepper sandwich, the Carmela. It was a lot of food. But . . . not a lot of flavor. A whole lot of drippy mess in the bottom of my basket, though: water absolutely sopped through the (completely unmemorable tasting) bread loaf and pooled at the bottom of my basket as I ate in. The potato salad served alongside was fine - like what you'd get at Albertson's. The chicken was tender and . . . essentially without flavor, not even salt. There had clearly been a little marinade (I could sense some oregano and maybe garlic in there) but man could this thing have used about five times as much seasoning and then a healthy dose of a vinegar/garlic/oregano dressing on top of it. Bland. Lots of food in that $17 (almost $25 with tip) sandwich, but not a lot of enjoyment. I've had other Tully's sandwiches (both for here and to-go) that were better, but I can't really recall any of them . . . and I _never_ rush back. Like I said, this is a place I think about ("Hey, I'm right nearby; I should try Tully's again!") about once a year . . . and then, meh. To be fair - I believe that I am pretty out in left field on this take: Tully's is popular and always hopping. Get here early unless you want to stand in line. I only had to wait about three minutes to order, but by the time I left at noon this Friday there was a line to order all the way from the counter to the door. In terms of the room, it's a deli. Reasonably well set out with a decent amount of seating set out well, as well as some outside seating that you might want to try when it's not in the nineties. You order at the counter, pay, go get your own fountain drink (they also have some beer and wine, which they will serve you), find a seat and they'll bring it to you. When you're done, you bus it yourself. Pleasant staff - I don't regret tipping, although they don't do much. (As others have mentioned, if you get a cup of water, Tully's generously gives you a decent sized Solo cup - another plus.) It's fine. If you go, at least get yourself some cookies - they're pretty good.

The experience was pretty mixed but the customer service from isaac was good so I maintained a 4 star review because of that. Each of my items was supposed to have guacamole, banana peppers and jalapeños, as well as notes for extra toppings. I didn't get those parts of the meal. In fact I'm glad I called and asked if I could taste some their sauces because if I didn't do that then I wouldn't have gotten any sauce! For example the house sauce and spicy ranch I ordered for the salad didn't arrive. The sauces I ordered with the meal were not delivered and the only ones I received were the extra mixture of sauces that the guy on the phone said he usually would have to charge me for but he would comp it. And it turns out he didn't get the sauces that were supposed to come with the meal and those were the only ones I got anyway. One upsetting part was that if they ran out of stuff they did not try to alert the customer and offer replacement items. I will say this, when I called about this, I got an apology and offer for free items. If I do go back to claim the items I'll let you guys know what the update is like. I think this might be the type of place that you'd want to check your order carefully and only leave once you know you are good to go. I don't recommend doing uber eats from here. I'm being really nice about the review stars because they had a couple sauces that were really good and although the business may not be organized, I think they have really yummy food and the customer service wasn't bad. So that's worth something.

It is definitely out of the way, but worth it to be able to try something new. Albuquerque is obviously not known for its selection of German food but this is it if you're looking for it. They also have a lunch menu with German delicacies and some grocery items that you can pick up to go. I came out of time where I wasn't super hungry and was only there for a sweet treat, but I would definitely like to eventually go back and try some of the savory foods.
