The serving sizes here were crazy! Like this was so delicious and affordable. Definitely worth it. I also had buffalo cauliflower for an appetizer that was enough to feed about 4 people. Waitress was super nice and friendly too.

Was promptly greeted when entering and seated quickly. Staff were friendly. Food was fresh. I took off one stare because my chicken was slightly overcooked. They could have easily have gotten a 5. Wife's pork sandwich was perfect. Portions were generous. Some edges were black. Laid back atmosphere fear.

After sitting 30 minutes at the Jug and being ignored, we left to try this place (mind you I drove all the way from Williamsville!). Wow, like night and day with service here! Thank you for salvaging our night! Atmosphere is cozy and friendly. We only had to wait about 5 minutes for a table. In the meantime, we got drinks at the bar and the bartender was fast and personable. Upon being seated, we were given menus that had so many yummy things to try it was hard to pick! The person I was with has already been here and ordered his favorite jerk chicken sandwich (which I sampled and loved). He also got the French onion soup which he also loved. I got the 1/2 roasted Greek chicken entree and it did not disappoint. The chicken was cooked to perfection, a bit crisp and very flavorful on the outside and juicy on the inside. The feta mashed potatoes were awesome, the dressing on the Greek salad was great, so was the little pita pocket it came with. Everyone we came in contact treated us like they knew us and I love that level of service! They even said goodbye from behind the bar on the way out, despite many other patrons being there. We'll be back again next weekend!

Driving around today looking for several places to eat. Had tried a couple others to show up and they were closed. Found this little dive here on Yelp and I am glad I did. If the restaurant hadn't been so cold inside I would have given them a five star rating. The food was amazing and decently priced. The service was excellent. For a dive the restaurant was really clean. This restaurant gives me the hometown feel where all the locals go. When we walked in you could tell many of the locals had shown up to watch the Bills game with their buddies. As far as the food, I ordered the ribeye steak sandwich and it was amazing. Be prepared you are not really eating a sandwich. You are getting a full steak. My wife ordered a chicken chimichanga and loved it. Daughter had chilli and loved it as well. The waitresses was really outstanding. Service 5 Food 5 Ambiance 4 Cleanliness 4 Price $$

The second supper (Day 2, Meal 3) of our Western New York family vacation was Bandana's Bar & Grill. Conveniently located between our second and third destinations of the day, and with good Yelp reviews to boot, we entered the restaurant at 6:10pm with high hopes ... but when we left at 7:50pm, we were pretty universally disappointed. In total, we spent almost exactly 100 minutes at Bandana's, and the one word that best summed up our experience was 'waiting.' First we had to wait for a table. Then we had to wait to place our drink and food orders. Refills? Forget about it! We had to flag down a waitress and ask for refills, then waited forever to get them. Our food orders came out of the kitchen in a fairly reasonable period of time, and our meals both looked and tasted great! However that was completely overshadowed by the slow and disinterested servers. My daughter's order was missing the side listed on the menu, and when we asked our waitress about it, she said she would take care of it, but nothing ever happened. No follow-up like "the kitchen forgot, so they are making it for you now" or "we ran out, what other side would you like to replace it with?" ... instead it was like the waitress just forgot about the problem the instant she stepped away from our table. Once we finished eating, we asked for our bill, and even that took forever, or so we thought, because it took even longer for the waitress to cash us out. Yes, we clearly were not from around here, and we knew that from the way we saw other tables who had come in long after us, handled much more quickly and efficiently before being sent on their merry way. PROS: unique and fun atmosphere, expansive menu, food that ranged from very good to excellent CONS: if you were a local your service was 3-star typical-post-COVID-slow, but everyone else was bascially1-star ignored by the disinterested wait staff Overall I am going to rate Bandana's Bar & Grill as being OK I Guess and say that we might or might not return, but that is solely based on the strength of their kitchen. In reality, I doubt that my wife or any of our three children would be willing to return because the service was so bad.

Brussel sprouts with feta and balsamic ~ daily special, appetizer

This place was near an AirBnB we were staying in and after a long travel day, we didn't want to go far ~ So thankful we tried this gem! This is just a great spot for neighborhood comfort food and much more than the biker bar it looks like. The Brussel sprouts appetizer was the best Brussel sprouts we have ever had! They were roasted perfectly and then tossed with feta, balsamic vinegar, tomatoes and herbs. The portion size was unbelievable ~ plenty for four. This was a daily special so it is not on their regular menu. We also had the French onion soup, another daily special. Again, delicious! The caramelization of the sweet onions topped with the cheese was perfection. We were full from these appetizers but we did order Monday night regular menus options ~ Mac and Cheese with Chicken and Mac and Cheese with Cajun chicken. The sizes of these plates were huge! One serving is plenty for two. However, we enjoyed the leftovers! Spirits ~ there seemed to be plenty of draft options along with mixed beverages. Wine options were okay and their house cab was surprisingly good. Service was excellent. This locally owned place just celebrated their 20th anniversary!

My parents have RAVED about the quality of service and food at this place on multiple occasions so I finally decided to try it out. Our experience started off with walking in and having to wait 10 minutes for a table after making a reservation. Two different staff members had told us two different things and the communication was blatantly awful. After being seated we again waited 30 minutes just to put in our food and drinks and the drinks didn't come for another 10 minutes. At that point we were starving from the sun beating on us while sitting outside. We ordered an appetizer and that came nearly an hour after ordering. And about 5 minutes after that came our dinner. I had ran out of water almost immediately after getting it and my water was not filled up until I was almost done with my whole meal. The food itself was pretty disappointing. I got the island chicken quesadilla and while the flavor was good something about it was off. The tortilla did not go very well with the dish. This dish is also served with banana aioli on the side for dipping but I think for a more bbq based dish that is already a little sweet it adds too much sweetness, ranch would fare better in my opinion. The onion strips were amazing. I loved how crispy and variable the sizes were. My parents swear by the island chicken sandwich and they still love it. Overall decent place but the service is the reason this place is a 2. Being at a restaurant for 2 hours outside in the summer with little water and horrible service is just not how I want to spend a summer evening.

The food and service was amazing! Family of four driving to camp and visit Niagara Falls. I ordered a plate that include Jamaican patty and jerk chicken... fabulous! My son thought the pizza was the best he ever had!! And the warm churros with Nutella finished off our delicious meal back at camp!!

Nestled in the heart of Main Street of Niagara on the Lake, this cafe & wine bar is adorned with stunningly beautiful flowers that you cannot help but stop and take photos of. It drew my husband in to get me to preview their menu. Once he saw that fish & chips was on the menu, he knew there was no way we weren't dining here. And trust me, there are a LOT of choices to eat at Niagara on the Lake. You have the choice of dining either inside or outside. Lucky for us, it was an absolutely perfect day to dine outside underneath an umbrella of a table adjacent to the statue with water where folks were dropping coins with their wishes. The service was welcoming, friendly and attentive. I was surprised at how quickly our food arrived. When it hit the table, it looked delectable and well presented. Any thoughts of the so-so reviews I had read after checking in on Yelp vanished upon our first bites. Our dishes of English Style Fish & Chips and the Grilled New York AAA Striploin were well prepared and indeed delicious. We ate everything on our plates! Note: We didn't order any appetizers or desserts because there are soooooo many food options at Niagara on the Lake that we were sampling a little of everything everywhere in this little heavenly town during our day there. Stop by Shaw Cafe & Wine Bar and you will be glad you did! We are!!

Nice layout. Our server was great. Lots of fun. He didn't write anything down and got it all right. I asked him for a recommendation on an app cuz I wasn't that hungry. He said the feta burchetta. It comes in 4 huge pieces. More than enough to share. Piled high with tomatoes, cheese, onions, and you add your own olive oil and balsamic. It was very good. I ate 2. With a fork cuz it's big and awkward. Everyone else got different things 2 cheese burgers. Both said they were good and a nice chargrilled taste. Mussels and that was a good plateful. Prices were fairly reasonable. Our bill with tip and drinks was around $77 Canadian. So I but that really in the $60 range. I thought the apps were a bit expensive but as mentioned the portion was huge. So you gotta weight that. I'd definitely recommend.

Sadly, we slept in and no restaurants serve breakfast past 10am except Escabeche at the Prince of Wales Hotel and Eggsmart. Since we were looking for local flavour, we headed to Escabeche. The menu out front looked good, a little pricy, but we didn't care; we were so hungry! They took our names and we waited. We waited about 15min and were seated right by the windows in the sunroom. Nice! The another couple was seated at the table behind us at the same time. We ordered our meals as well as some water and coffee. Then we waited........ And waited.... And......the couple seated after us got their food. And they sent it back. They received their corrected meals and then we got ours. A little pet peeve of mine is people seated after me and ordering after me getting their food first. Grrr. I, of course, ordered Eggs Benny. I've had a few Eggs Benedicts in my day, so I'm pretty sure I know what it is. I'd like to think the meat should be under both eggs, but this did not happen for me. Luckily, I took a photo before I dug in. I had started eating when I realized there was no meat on half. I called the server over and told her. She said it's 1 piece of sourdough and 1 large piece of meat with the 2 eggs on top. I showed her the picture and she nodded like that was normal. For $18, I'd like actual Eggs Benny...especially considering there was no side with it. Half a strawberry, 1 slice of bread and 2 eggs seems hardly worth it. I gave them the chance to fix it and they didn't. We ate and then ran out of drinks. No server in sight. The table with the water jug was across the aisle from me, so I got up to fill my glass. Other customers saw me serve myself and they came up to fill their glasses. Not cool. They saw us all filling our glasses and walked around us. This was another chance to do something and they didn't. I will never be back to this place. My recommendation is to get up before 10am and go somewhere that has service, good pricing and actual food.

But by the end of the meal I wished that rather than sweetly seating us, they had turned us away. The service was inexplicably slow. We were there on the late side for lunch (2-ish) and the dining room was empty enough that they were putting other chairs on top of the tables. But it nonetheless took more than thirty minutes to turn out our simple lunches. (Even the two scoops of ice cream that came out at the end took an inexplicably long time.) And what came out wasn't great. My fish sandwich was dry and a little off (I hope that the breaded filet had just spent too long in the freezer); the cassoulet was also mysteriously dry, and pretty bland. I know they were Canadian dollars, but it was still an expensive, slow meal of dry underflavored food, unfortunately confirming all of the stereotypes that us jeans-wearing Americans have of stuffy places like this. At least the dining room was lovely!

He came to Canada after her sister relocated. He originally was a cook, but given his accent, they asked hi. To move to the front! Well done. He was a great server too! Very friendly! We decided to share the sausage rolls and shepherds pie. My husband had two Guinness! I'm not sure where he put it in top of the wine, but glad I was driving. The sausage rolls were very tasty. The mustard that came for dipping was the perfect accompaniment. The shepherd's pie had a dark Guinness gravy that was rich and flavorful. I enjoyed the side of peas and carrots too! Sharing these two was the perfect amount, however we wished we'd got the poutine! It looked amazing, it would've been too much food though. Guess we will need to return!
