I was visiting a friend who told me she comes to this restaurant way too frequently - and I understand why! The views from outside and the aesthetic inside are gorgeous. We stopped in for happy hour on a week night and it wasn't too packed. At the bar, we had the bartender surprise us with some mezcal concoctions. All the items on the menu sounded amazing but we ultimately settled on sharing the chilled shrimp and the pan roasted chicken entree. I could not rave about this dish more - it was juicy and flavorful and we absolutely cleared the plate. Other than the food, what made the experience worthwhile was the service! We got to talk with the bartenders and servers who were great. My friend lives right next door and I can't wait to have another excuse to come visit (need to escape the NYC winter!!) to try some more stuff off their menu. read more

Some of the best seafood I've had!! Wow everything just melted in my mouth. We got the fish dip, which at first I was a bit hesitant about but when I tried it I couldn't stop eating it! So we booked the pre-paid waterfront reservation that comes with a glass of champagne and all the things. But unfortunately.. Florida is gonna Florida and it down-poured on our way over there. They moved us to the covered patio location, which was fine but they neglected to tell us that they did not serve food from 4-5pm. We sat at 4pm and we were able to put in one quick appetizer before the kitchen closed. I get why they do this but it would have been nice if they said that on the pre-paid reservation page. We were able to order a couple more things when it opened back up at 5. Anyway, our server was fine but he didn't seem like he wanted to be there very much. The ambiance was pretty cool and I can tell this place would be fun in the summer. It's right on the water and has a view of south beach. Food: Beet Salad with Stracciatella- this was actually pretty good but needed a little bit of acid to balance out the dish imo Smoked fish dip- served with tostones and felt really heavy. Would be nice to have chips or something lighter because they give you a lot of dip. Amara is beautiful. Located on the water with views are gorgeous as their vibes Amara is the perfect spot to enjoy for date night, girls night, or likely any time. The food is by the beloved Chef Michael Schwartz and his Genuine Hospitality team so you know it is going to be on point. We were seated on the rooftop for dinner and started with cocktails and oysters. They have Island Creek, which are my fave. We moved on to dinner where we opted for a seafood tower, yucca bites and an empanada. The seafood tower was glorious. My advice - do not sleep on the yucca bites, they are amazing! While I am not well versed on all things wine, I do know that at any Genuine Hospitality spot I will be sure to have so much delicious wine and cocktails to enjoy thanks to their knowledgeable bev director Amanda Fraga. I mean, I do believe she is the first in Miami to add "quarantine pour" as an option to the menu. Brilliant. I was also really happy to see a Picpoul on the menu. I tried it at another restaurant menu tasting and fell in love with this French white wine. Our server Ansary was so friendly and helpful with suggestions, thanks girl! While the night time views of the Miami skyline were amazing, I cannot wait to come back for brunch or happy hour to soak in these views and vibes during the day. If you follow the restaurant on IG you can see their different specials throughout the week - like $1 oyster days on Tuesdays. You know I'll be back for that, too! In terms of parking - I do not believe there is any street parking on the street where Amara is located. However, they do offer valet for just under $15. It took over a year to make this Paraiso ours. Before COVID hit we had a reservation to do one of our monthly Couples Wine Group tastings, it was canceled, I tried to reschedule it multiple times with always unforeseen situations on our part that prevented it from happening. Throughout the long process, Amanda was easy to reach and accommodating enough to finally make this happen! We arrived last Sunday at 4, valet was easy and fast. We sat outdoors in the upper level. Our server was Sergey, the first few minutes he was a bit caught off guard since we needed so many wine glasses but after chatting a bit he got in the groove and helped us all to have a night to remember. He was so knowledgeable about wine, which was a plus. We ordered almost every available appetizers, my favorite was the Yuca Cheese Puffs and least favorite Grouper Ceviche. As main course I got the Grilled Skirt Steak medium, it came out leaning towards medium rare which for me was a plus! Very tender, full of flavor and fat. One of the best Churrascos I have eaten in recent years. As you can imagine this place has one of the best views in town, terrific service and the food is superior in quality. Pretty hard to beat! Upon arrival I was greeted by a smiling host team. I was apprehensive at first due to not having a reservation on a busy Saturday but they assured me I will be taken care of. After a quick 10 minute wait at the bar and the best drink I've had in Miami made by Butler the bartender, I was alerted my table was ready. As the host walked me to my table I was captivated by the breathtaking view of the Biscayne Bay. I was quickly greeted by Nash who offered me water and assured me my server will be right with me. Soon after, Faran introduced himself to me and told me he'll be serving me tonight. He gave great recommendations and top notch service. The spicy prawns were my favorite and grilled to perfection. I came by for my Yelp BFF Michelle L's continued bday brunch. The downtempo edm brought us back to younger clubbing and pre Rona Halcyon Days and the view is breathtaking, 5 stars! Service was pretty good, from Ramiro at the front accommodating our last minute reservation change, to our waitress checking in on us regularly. Food wise I loved the Huevos ranchero (and that the kitchen carried out my no avocado request) as well as the Nutella French toast. The huevos had the right intensity of heat, and the beans were cooler, gazpacho style. My frozen daiquiri was delicious (2 times) as were the yuca puff appetizer. Although it was promptly substituted (my friend ended up ordering another of my Margarita) she didn't like the Biscayne Breeze. Hers wasn't served with the maraschino on the menu, and the lime flavor was overpowering the other mixers. I sampled her drink, and have to agree in Not Recommending the biscayne breeze drink. Came last Saturday and sat at the bar while we waited for a table but never actually got seated so we ordered some drinks and apps from Butler - our bartender who was very nice and attentive. There was another bartender that never even looked at us but oh well, it was his loss lol. We got the yuca cheese puffs and the short rib empanadas to start. The puffs were bigger than expected, crunchy and doughy in the inside. So good! The empanadas unfortunately were too salty - so I sent it back. I have enjoyed a few great dinners here including a birthday and Super Bowl LIV. Yesterday, just a week after Miami reopening I enjoyed brunch for the first time with my client after a real estate tour of Paraiso Bay. It was a fantastic way to cement the 'New Miami chic' lifestyle that Edgewater affords among the amenities of the condo building to include mere steps to one of the best as well as the only true restaurant on the water downtown. As per usual the service was great, COVID-19 hygiene standards were practiced and Chef Michael Schwartz's always revolving and delighting menu did not disappoint. His Latin-infused interpretations are respective of the culture, inventive and palatable. The Cachapa was delectable and Jalisco themed cocktail with Chinola was so nice I ordered it twice. ;-) Note: I upgraded this to 5 stars as Paraiso Beach Club upstairs is now open to the public. This is a differentiator that elevates the experience options here for patrons and is truly unique in Miami. A+ read more

We tried the fish dip and onion plus cheese empanada. Both bar bites were delicious! Once seated at our dinner table outside, view and ambiance was spectacular. Honestly would go back just for that. Food for dinner was just ok. Nothing out of this world. The Yuca Cheese Puffs are good but they're not cheese puffs, they are like the Brazilian Pao de queijo (in spanish, similar to a pan de bono). Tuna Carpaccio was no lt carpaccio. The thickness of the Tuna was good for nigiri and not thin as you would expect it to be. Avocado was over ripe, had tons of brown dots all over. Fresh Catch was cobia, hubby liked his dish but it was definitely overpriced for the type of fish served. Arroz Verde, I expected something else but it was good overall. The dish is HUGE and two people can eat from it. The star of dinner was the Grilled Cauliflower! Soo soo good. Recommend that, the bar bites and drinks. So based off my experience, might go back for the beautiful view and just a few small bites and drinks. Dinner service was whatever. You can obviously tell the waitress changed her mind about us based off what we ordered. Didn't even bother to sell us dessert, she just brought the check over. read more

The moment you step through the front the door you are hit with what seems like immediate access to the Miami skyline. Nothing I type here can describe it. The outdoor seating is really the only way to go if weather permits and tonight was warm and perfect. The crushed shells on the ground and the patio furniture made this outdoor space so cozy and welcoming. Also, tables were spaced out nicely which is hard to come by lately. I made sure to consider the servers recommendations because usually they're in line with the best the restaurant has to offer. Among our favorites were the Smoked Fish Dip, No-Proof Bullet Proof and my nonalcoholic Piña Colada which came in a fresh coconut (on the rocks, not frozen). IF I were to revisit I would definitely order differently. The yuca cheese puffs were delicious as well, however they were basically akin to Brazilian pan de bono, nice and cheesy. The prawns were a let down making me immediately regret not getting the grouper ceviche which I was debating. The prawns were well seasoned, but were served on a slaw that looks like it came out of a fresh express bag from the grocery. Not worth the $$. The Crispy Brussel Sprouts were anything but. If you decide to try these definitely ask for the sauce on the side. Even reheated at home they're unredeemable. The swordfish was just ok, and the mashed yuca was the consistency of paste..., so yea. Once the fish dip was gone and our drinks were finished we were slowly deflated. The service was good, but two things in particular stood out in a negative way. Once we approached the host stand and gave the name for the reservation, we stood waiting. After a few minutes to a hostess who had not acknowledged us began walking away with two menus in her hand at which point we just looked at each other LOL. The manager, still at the host stand had to ask us to follow the hostess who had not turned around to notice that nobody was following her, bizarre. The second issue was... I believe the server only suggested the prawns to me because they were a little more costly than the ceviche. Not the end of the world and I get it, your check average determines your top most of the time. However, when he approached the table with the card reader to settle the check, he stated that in order the split the bill he would need to add an automatic 20% gratuity. Whether this was his hustle or the restaurants, I didn't appreciate it at all. Aside from the usual outdoor seating issue of an occasional fly, the place was pretty well maintained and the restrooms were super clean, especially for a busy Saturday night. The server was vigilant about clearing and removing crumbs, replacing plates and silverware and refilling water himself. I hope this review helps! read more

Started my 2022 Miami spice dining experience this year at Amara at Paraiso. My friend and I valeted the car for $10 during this not-so-busy Wednesday lunch and chose outdoor sitting as our preference. Even though it is 90° plus in Miami during this hot summer time, I still recommend their outdoor sitting. Particularly the roofed section where the sun doesn't hit as strong as in the outer section closest to the bay. Nice, and shady environment with a beautiful view of Biscayne Bay. Amara is one of the few places in Miami with this gorgeous view. The lunch spice menu is priced at $28 per person with an optional "supplements" section of the menu providing some other options À la cart that can be an enhancement to your spice experience like their Black Truffle Empanadas, or their Raw Bar Platter. I went with a plus one and so we made sure to choose two of each course so that we can share and try different dishes. For our Appetizers we chose both the Watermelon Salad and Shrimp Ceviche. The salad was a refreshing start that welcomed and refreshed our pallet for what was to come. Thai Basil and Mint are just such great ingredients to a fresh salad like this one and compliments the other flavors very well. The Shrimp Ceviche was fresh and so flavor! Next, we ordered half a dozen oysters. For lunch and until 4 PM they have $1 oysters which we could not pass. Island Creek, with a nice semi-deep cup accompanied by a mignonette. They weren't very briny and had a sweet finish. I added some of the chopped veggies and Leche de Tigre sauce from my Ceviche to the oyster, and it was a home-run! The mignonette was also tasty. For our mains we chose the Cobia Fish on a bed of white rice, topped with pickled vegetables and fresh greens atop a green curry sauce that was to die for. We also chose the Choripan with fresh cut french fries. The Choripan and Cobia were both excellent portions for a spice menu. Lastly we had the choice of a Dulce De Leche Flan, and a Brownie, but my friend and I could not resist and ordered two flans. Best choice i made that entire day! Sweet and savory, and so soft with a delicious hazelnut praline topping. I wanted to eat that forever. Overall, our spice experience at Amara was a big win! I strongly recommend everyone visits and enjoys this menu while it is ongoing. Our service was exceptional, and nothing beats their ambiance. read more

My daughter and I came to Florida for a mother daughter vacation . On our last night she chose Amara to eat dinner. We came for the oysters and seafood ! We started with 24 oysters , a shrimp , and a chorizo appetizer along with wine at happy hour . Our waitress was great , but she recommended the short rib , she said it was the best thing on the menu. We are from Montana and raise beef , so I would never order beef at a restaurant , but I went with her recommendation. I'm glad I did ! It was amazing !!!! My daughter had a coconut seafood soup , also amazing. Our food and service was great , we both highly recommend this place.
