We had a party of 8 for a Birthday Celebration. Some of us got there before the rest of the party and gather at the bar. Cusqueña Beers and Amazonia Cocktails to start. Both very good, The bartender very nice. We were seated and Sergei was our waiter. Appetizers: Chorizo, Fish Dip, Yucas, Cauliflower. All tasty and delicious. The Sommelier came and we pick our wine El Enemigo, Bonarda from Mendoza Argentina. Smooth drinking red wine. Then 45 minutes went by and the food was not arriving. My cousin's dinner came: Cauliflower & Green Salad, but not ours. He finished eating and we were still waiting for our food: Mixed Parrillada, 24oz Rib Eye, 12oz NY Strip, Green Rice(Crispy Rice with Veggies pot) After complaining, they told us the kitchen was having some issues. Finally, some time later the food arrived. The food was tasty, well seasoned the meats. We enjoyed it. They gave us Coffee & Dessert on the House. The Desserts were Flan, Corn Pancake with Fruits, and a Merengue Bomb that we shared. They were ok. Coffee -Decaf Americano, Espresso, Green Tea. Then came the icing on the cake. Known as a brunch snob who has eaten their way through the city, I can tell you with 100% certainty that this is the only restaurant in the US with great food, service, and amazing scenery. Chef Ivan Barros has taken the menu and quality to the next level. If you don't believe me, watch when he won the most famous cooking show in Italy, or try the breakfast burrito for yourself. Book a table while you can, before everyone and their mother finds out just how transcendental this dining experience is or it blows up on tiktok. Every time I leave here I am so full it hurts because I need to have it all. This place is always crawling with celebrities, but too bad I can't take my eyes off the yuca cheese puffs. These heavenly golden pillows are my death row meal. Tied with the English muffin (completely underrated), and I want the fresh homemade jam injected in my veins. Fair warning only a set number is made every day to ensure you're only getting the best and it's not nice to gatekeep. You could eat anything on the menu day or night and not be disappointed. My only critique is that I wish the Kites over Bay cocktail could be served in a gallon-sized bag with a straw. It might be a hot take because there are so many great cocktails (and bottomless rosé), but it's just that good. As a regular at Amara, the staff treated me like family since my first visit. They truly go above and beyond to make sure you're taken care of. Every restaurant associated with the Genuine Hospitality group is a hit. Had been told this place is worth going, so I ventured on a Saturday afternoon. A beautiful location in Edgewater, on the waterfront, we didn't have a reservation but we were told to wait at the bar. In the meantime we ordered a drink, I had a Sauvignon Blanc delicious, they opened a new bottle. And my sister ordered a Mocktail which she loved, quite refreshing. We had decided upon the short ribs empanadas, but they were not good, too salty so returned it they took it off the bill. Staff was friendly especially Butler one of the bartenders. Also ordered the cheese puffs, which were delicious and fresh. There were so many other things to try, and they have great happy hour specials. Will try that next time. I went to Amara at Paraiso during my vacation in Miami. My bestie, Apple S. and I wanted to continue hanging out, so we came here for some drinks. Amara is located next to the water and has some impressive views. I also do love how its decorated on the inside and there is an outside seating area if you want to enjoy the view. Service is good, but then again there were only a couple of patrons while we were there. We both ordered some alcohol and spent a few hours just talking and laughing. This is one of the restaurants that I recommend whenever folks from out of town visit Miami. Amara has it all - amazing food, deliciously crafted cocktails, gorgeous setting with amazing views of the bay, and top notch service to boot! Their happy hour is also excellent and seasonally, on Tuesdays, they offer $1 oysters all day! The menu is vast and hits a variety of price points. Indoor or outdoor, there are 2 floors of cozy but chic decor and plenty of space and seating for large parties or intimate date nights. Valet parking is available but I usually park on the street a couple of blocks away. read more

What a fantastic restaurant! I was pleasantly surprised with the whole experience. The food, ambiance, and service exceeded my expectations. We came for Miami spice lunch (great deal) and sat on the back patio. Our server was very nice and helpful. I had the lamb empanada to start which was by far my favorite food item. So flavorful and the pastry dough was light. It came with pickled veggies yum! For my main I had the grilled cobia which was very good, especially the chimichurri sauce on top but wasn't my favorite thing. I also tried my friend's "chivito sandwich" which was like a burger and super good !!!! And I also tried their octopus causa which was also great. You definitely can't go wrong with any of these options. We also ordered the ceviche to try and it was mid. Not bad but not great either, just lacking a bit, or maybe compared to the other items just didn't stand out. We went for the Sunday brunch buffet and it was pretty underwhelming. The buffet is new, so hopefully it will improve soon. I hope management takes a look at some of the items below, and fixes them. First, it was extremely hot where we were seated. No fun to eat while sweating. Apparently the AC was a bit weak? Not sure, but it's peak summer in Miami and work is needed on the fans and ACs that they have. Second, at least where we were seated, there were flies everywhere. This is not acceptable in any restaurant, let alone a higher-end one. Third, at least about half of the items were mediocre. Either, they were too cold, bland, too salty, or the flavors were off and unbalanced. There was one meh cut of meat. The ceviche was the one of the worst I've had in my life. The deviled eggs were quite sour. Serious work is needed on your heat lamps etc., the difference between an actual high-end buffet (think Vegas) and here is night and day. A lot of the items don't pop, bolder flavors are needed. Fourth, this costs $89/person, without taxes and gratuity. For that price, one would expect some premium items. There were none. Menu online says "Lobster Roll, Octopus & Crab", none of which were there. There was imitation crab, a bunch of shrimp, and a tasteless salt baked salmon which was awfully dry and lean. Finally, and this is a small thing, but coffee is not included in the buffet, you have to pay extra. That's just cheap, and suggests to me that there is no consideration about the customer here. The place is lovely, so pretty, and the service is fantastic. Some of the items were quite nice, the croissant, the oysters, anchovies, several salads, a few others. But in terms of overall food quality, forget high-end Vegas buffets, this is not even comparable to places like POC or Gyu-Kaku, which cost much lesser. read more

While in Miami, Amara at Paraiso was one of the nicer restaurants my husband and I dined at. Amara at Paraiso is dog friendly, which was very important to us, as we were traveling with our dog. When we arrived, we were brought to a table overlooking the water. It had a really nice view. To be able to go on a romantic date that looks like this, and have your dog is next to you, is awesome. Unfortunately, that was pretty much all Amara has got going for them. For the prices you're paying for, at a place like this, the food was just okay. Definitely not James Beard award winning. We started out with a ceviche which was all right, nothing to write home about. For our entrees, my husband and I shared the grilled red snapper and the Arroz Verde. The grilled red snapper was well prepared, but there was nothing original about the flavors. The Arroz Verde, one of the best dishes of the house according to our server, tasted like a very bland Bibimbap. The dessert, a tres leches cake was very middle of the road. The food here is nothing special. We definitely would not have come here if it wasn't dog friendly. read more

Had a beautiful brunch w/ some coworkers at Amara. As a first timer, I was blown away by the incredible waterfront location and great detail of both the interior and exterior of the restaurant. Though we throughly enjoyed the location and the service, we were a bit disappointed with the food. We found it to be quite average. The French toast (pictured) was a bit undercooked and the guava sauce was waaayyy to sweet. The reason for my 4-star review is because many of the items were out and they have very limited items left. But the items I and my party ordered was cooked to perfection. Delicious, flavorful, and fresh (: The parking here is an issue because there's only street parking and gets filled up pretty quickly.. I suggest paying the valet which is $10 on the weekdays and $15 on the weekends I believe. First time at Amara and I have to say that the location is beautiful, you are in the middle of the city but you feel like you are at a beach club ... the inside decorations are so beautiful. Our server Kyle was very nice. I would have expected something more from the food though ... we had five different starters and all of them came with the same seasoning ( pico de gallo ) which unfortunately gave a flat taste to everything, on top of that everything was fried ( even the empanadas ) on a positive note The desserts were absolutely amazing we had the olive oil cake and the pavlova. I was excited to try Amara, and I will say that the food was good, and the ambiance was lovely. However, I was extremely disappointed when I received the bill. I ordered an espresso martini and asked the server to make it with belvedere vodka. I was never informed that this simple request would result in a $48 charge for one cocktail. When I questioned the price, the server explained it was due to the choice of vodka. While I understand premium spirits come at a higher cost, $48 for a single drink is absolutely outrageous. I've traveled to many countries and dined at high-end establishments, and I have never, ever paid $48 for a single cocktail. It's honestly absurd and feels like a complete rip-off. And I just want to make it very clear, I'm not a tourist, I live in Miami and know what expensive is and this is just ridiculous. read more

I'd love to give Amara five stars. Based on food alone, it would definitely be worth splurging for a fancy night out. But there were some serious issues with our experience, leaving us with a less-than-stellar night. First, when we showed up on time for our reservation, we were seated at the bar while our table was "being prepared." Okay. After bringing a bottle of water, the server at the bar area proceeded to forget about us. So we had exactly zero drinks while waiting roughly twenty minutes for our table. Then, once we were seated at our table, more shenanigans -- not one, but two of the entrees we tried to order were not available. Both times, the server had to go to put in our order, then come back to the table and tell us to try again. Where's the communication between the back and front of house? Why not adjust menus, or tell servers what's not available at the start of the night? That seems more logical than subjecting patrons to entree bingo. Between the need to reorder several times, and the infrequent visits from the server (perhaps not his fault, they may have been understaffed), it took FOREVER to finally get to something resembling a cohesive dining experience. As I noted, the food itself was really good overall (especially the arroz verde!), but all of these hiccups showed me that, if you're looking for a nice dinner, Amara is a gamble. If you can't count on a restaurant to have all, or even most of it's dishes available, is it really worth the $100+ per person? Amara should really iron out these issues! read more

We have been to Amara twice since moving to the Edgewater area in Miami. It's such a nice place to take an easy stroll to and enjoy a nice dinner out - the prices are more on the snazzy-night-out end so we came the second time to celebrate a special occassion. We sat outside on a beautiful night with amazing views of the bay. The service and food were 5 stars! We decided to split several appetizers and an entree among our group of 5. There is some street parking but you will need to valet and it's not too expensive especially if splitting the valet. They have a great rose backdrop that you can take some cute photos in front of. The restaurant is great for all ages. It has a beautiful 2nd floor for parties with both floors having unobstructed views of the water line. Brunch menu definitely had the best and most options available. We were a small group of three and shared all the plates we ordered. 1. The yuca cheesy balls are a must. It is a cross between a pan de bono and pao de queijo. It wasn't too cheesy but fluffy at the same time with a bit of a crunch on the outside. 2. Fish dip was pretty good and came with tostones and I am not a fish lover and would have again. It reminded me of a dip with a hit of ceviche vibe. 3. Queso fundido was so steamy that after the 4th spoon to get cheese it was still steaming. Definitely ask for more tortillas to eat the cheese. 4. Crab tostada hard to share with 3 but was a nice intermediary. It was refreshing and is loaded with avocado. 5. French toast - there are no words to truly describe. It was delicious and you need to try for yourself. 6. The last one we tried was a burger and I know what you're thinking. A burger but trust me this was delicious and so were the fries that came with them. Between that and the drinks, which one is served in a coconut you will be full and satisfied. Had the opportunity of celebrating my boyfriend's birthday at Amara and sincerely it could not have been more special and memorable. The restaurant itself is extremely beautiful, clean, organized, pleasant to the eye even with the music being just perfect and the employees being warm and welcoming from beginning to end of the service. We started our evening with some customized header menu's that said "happy birthday" with my boyfriend's name on it and that alone was the motive of a big laugh and smile which really did bury itself in my heart forever so thank you Amara for providing a core memory. They truly did felt and tasted like an aphrodisiac we truly didn't want to finish them but all food things... after the oysters we had their octopus which was a perfect mix of sweet & salty JUST THE OCTOPUS alone, the lettuce is a nice plus but definitely not necessary trust me when I tell you that this one you'll want to eat alone it's also a fun concept the way it's plated. Next we had their prawns which came with three different sauces on the side; pico de gallo, red pepper oil and I believe chimichurri? (We were having champagne clearly I was doing my best to stay focused) which were amazing and we didn't even use the sauces because the prawns were just that girl, perfect charr and cooked perfectly a touch of lemon just in case but anything else is just extra. Then we had their short rib with gnocchi and little onions (again, champagne) which was also very tasty and the short rib didn't even need the fork it literally melt at the touch of it, the gnocchi I am not a big fan of but the one served at Amara is suprisinglu good and has a texture that feels different to the taste (in a good way).
