They were hard like they were left out to wait for a while. We got the choripan and to be honest it was like a chori burger. Parking can be a little tricky since it's in a residential area so street parking/ride share is your best bet! They do have valet but heard there could be some limitations. We came on a Tuesday for $1 oysters! We got there a little early to take advantage of happy hour as well. We ordered the chorizo, fish dip and yuca cheese puffs! My favorite was the fish dip and I loved that they serve it with tostones. The oysters were fresh and so flavorful! I really enjoyed them! The service was also very quick and friendly! Firstly, I didn't eat here I only had a drink so you can skip this if you're interested in food info. With that in mind I'm giving 5 stars and it's really just based on what I was able to judge. We arrived on a Friday in March at around 6:30. We wanted to do happy hour and the place is big but the bar is small so there was no space to be comfortable and enjoy drinks so we basically said F it and got a table. They wouldn't offer us happy hour prices with service at the table even with this in mind so I certainly wish we were welcomed with more flexibility but we weren't. There were plenty of tables available outside. Outside has a gorgeous view of the Miami skyline and a bridge. It was a nice looking spot for sure. I can't believe that I was about to pay $32 for one coconut drink but here is where I found myself. Well dammit. That coconut drink was gaaaaaaaas. It was delicious. I now want to put cinnamon in all of my piña coladas. But that wasn't the only thing that made it good. It had pebble ice, was silky smooth, fresh and delicious. A "refresh" costs $20 and we almost got one too! They were damn delicious. I would come back and have the same experience again. Pricey but tasty. read more

My manager took a group of us here for a team lunch and it was so good! We arrived at the time of our reservations and they were prompt with getting us seated. As we walked through to be seated the views were amazing of the water. The food was so good. The oysters were fresh. The half seafood tower had so many delicious things to try! For my main I chose from the lunch menu where I could have a salad and entree and dessert. The salad was fresh and the apples they chose brought a sweetness to the salad. The spaghetti was good. My manager had chicken and When I tried a piece it was so most and juicy, nicely cooked! The other people in our party had skirt steak and they said it was cooked well. We went to Amara on a Saturday early evening to celebrate a birthday.The hostess was incredibly courteous to us upon our arrival. Our table was outside with beautiful views of biscayne bay. We ordered the Yuca vheese puffs, which were fresh and delicious; and the himachi tiradito was top-notch, flavor explosion. The guys enjoyed a Bullet old fashioned and the ladies had frozen drinks. The y were each very well made not strong and definitely not weak. Our waitress Tasha was very pleasant. She recommended the burata and told us about the Sunday brunch. We had a great experience. The ambiance: One of the best outdoor dining experiences in Miami. Can't beat the water views and dining under the stars (and the passing airplanes)! Their large outdoor patio can accommodate parties of all sizes. They also have a second floor rooftop bar area for private events. Great spot for photos too. The food: Good beef empanadas and loved my red snapper and my cake dessert. My cocktail in a coconut was certainly worthy of picture, but probably not worth the $32 it cost. I called to make a reservation, having a question about Valentine's Day options. The woman who picked up the phone could not have been ruder. She answered the phone with, "What!" I was kind of taken aback. I said, "Hi, I'm calling about making a reservation for Valentine's Day." She said, "Well, you can do it without me." I was at a loss for words. She then yells, "What! Came here for my bday dinner - definitely recommend for an occasion. We sat outside where the view of the water was lovely. There's a nice little walkway so I took some dope pics there. The short rib empanadas were a great appetizer to share (we got 3). So flavorful and set the tone for our meal. I had the snapper which was AMAZING! It says shareable but I had it just for myself (I shared some of it for them to try) but it was moreso my entree. I took my leftovers home which was good the next day. My friend had the short rib which melted in your mouth but I do think the presentation was lacking especially because it was $5 more than my fish lol those 2 dishes really aren't that comparable. They need to up the presentation of the short rib or add another side to fill up the plate. My mom had the chicken- no complaints there. We shared this sweet potato side which was very interesting. Didn't make well for leftovers due to the cold sauce atop and too filling for one person so I recommend sharing it. The drinks were... ok. Id recommend ordering wine. Came to this place again as it does have good ambiance and good service... This time, the food was much better than other times, hence my 5 star review. As stated, service was very good and ambiance as usual very good as well. Food, the octopus is very good.... the ceviche is of the best in town./ we ordered a green rice that cannot be missed. As for the yuca bread... well this is a good sin and eat them... very good as well. The snapper was cooked perfectly, the ceviche was fresh and full of flavor, and the parrillada and seafood parrillada were mind and everything came out fast and hot. Wow!!! I've always loved this restaurant but I was SHOCKED by how great of a deal this was for Miami Spice. I had the octopus causa to start- octopus was so tender and delicious. I loved it. The Chivira (?) which was a filet mignon sandwich was so delicious, tender, with a sunny side up egg on top. I only ate half. The lamb empanada was the best empanada my table had ever had. Banoffee was SO good - I couldn't stop eating it and I don't even like banana. Cafe con leche pudding was good too, but didn't compare to Banoffee IMO. The surf and truth was great full of opitions. 2 lobster, shrimp, two pieces of fish that the entire fish, two chorizos - big ones! Veggies, corn and skirt steak super good. The coconut flan was nice not too sweet, the latte was soooo good especially with the weather being windy and near the ocean! You sit right on the side of the ocean it's beautiful. Customer service was excellent! Our waiter was so attentive and nice. Tip is included. Tuna carpaccio was not good to me at all as you see in the picture it was a huge piece of tuna was some kind of oil on it that didn't mesh well with it. Under was some cabbage with a aioli really didn't mix well both my friends and I thought it was kind of gross all together with the flavors. Parking was extremely difficult. Vallet was full since 9pm on a Saturday night and around the restaurant there is barely no parking couple street parking but literally nothing. I walked about 4 blocks to get to the restaurant in shady corners and messed up roads. I would see myself coming back they seem to have good brunch and 1$ oysters on Tuesday. Great location with some mixed feelings about the food (and unfortunately very poor service). Almost a 1/2 wait for dessert that was disappointing (olive oil cake was not moist- like a dry cake mix) and less-than-special flan. When I asked how many cobs were in the order $11, i was told 2. Then i piece showed up very charted and cold. When the next piece came, it was warm, fresh from the grille as you would hope. But again a long wait. My waitress kept removing my napkins that i had requested (extra so i don't put silverware directly on the table). They were meant for a purpose!! We live in NYC, and we go to tons of restaurants, but we were so pleasantly surprised by Amara at Paraiso. AMBIENCE The restaurant inside is very high-end and spectacular, but their outdoor terrace is even more fantastic. Their location is in a residential area, and it gives a vibe of a very affluent local spot. The crowd looked like they all just walked out of the magazine's front cover (luckily, we did, too! Hahah)! The outdoor sitting area faces the water, and you just enjoy everything together! Also, the outdoor terrace stands right next to the path walk, and you will see lots of beautiful dogs! FOOD We ordered every appetizer they had and were not disappointed for a second. We had lots of raw fish, and everything was fresh (I had a few bad experiences in Miami). All the dishes had lots of attention in terms of sauce, taste, and visual elements. I will say that whatever you order - you will not go wrong with that. I came here with 6 girls so we decided to try the Amara experience which is served family style (the entire table needs to participate and it is $79 per person). I think it was a perfect way to be able to try the different dishes. It came with 3 appetizer dishes: yuca cheese puffs, smoked fish dip, and the Amara salad. All 3 were absolutely delicious! Then the seafood and meat parrillada was served with this delicious arroz verde which was like a hot stone dish that you mixed together and had the best crispy rice at the bottom! Amara is located in Edgewater with gorgeous waterfront views, but knowing Miami be careful the time of day when you make that reservation to not get rained out. The service team at Amara was great and they were super attentive to our large-ish party. They brought drinks out quickly and were always around if we needed anything. Like any great table - we all shared the dished so I got to try a little of everything. The ceviche was great - not too salty and the fish was very fresh, I personally would have loved some more onions for that extra crunch and sweetness. The short rib empanadas just WOW! The filling is stunning and the meat is so nice and tender and well flavored and the empanada dough is light. Just a really amazing empanada. We also got the seafood parillada and the fish were cooked well but at a steep $170 I can't convince myself that it was worth all that. The arroz verde was great and the veggies were flavorful and was a light and refreshing dish, and the romanesco and egg brought a creaminess to it. The grilled cauliflower was really great, I just wish there was a little more acid to the sauce as it really bordered the line of too sweet. Overall Amara is a stunning restaurant with great views and good food.- with the empanada taking the MVP award.
