Love this food truck. Some great flavor on the dishes I tried. I cannot wait to come back and try more!

This food truck came to our neighborhood pool as part of our swim team and community bonding…read more My daughter devoured their fries after her time at the pool. I ordered the curry crab legs with the side of mac and cheese, and the oxtail with the side of rice and lentils. Both dishes were amazing. The curry sauce for the crab was tasty and flavorful. The crab legs were steamed well and perfect when dipped in that luxurious sauce. The oxtail was fall off the bone tender and paired perfectly with that flavorful rice and lentils. We would definitely order from this food truck again. Service was kind and hospitable. Food came out at a reasonable time, especially with so many orders at the same time!

This food truck came to our building today. Since we never have had food from Trinidad and Tobago,…read morewe decided to give them a try. We knew that food from that region can be spicy and we knew that we would like to start with something tame. After looking at their menu board, I decided to go with fried chicken wings with a side of potato salad. My husband ordered pineapple chicken with a side of rice and peas. The people who work the truck are friendly and gladly answered any questions we had. It didn't take long to get our food. When we got the food upstairs, instead of getting fried chicken wings, I ended up with fried chicken tenders. Also, we were both surprised to see that each dinner comes with a small, undressed salad which consists of iceberg lettuce, red onions and a slice of tomato. They give out some sauces/dressings and I chose the one that wasn't spicy. As it was described to us, it was supposed to be "tingly". Okay...well...it was a thin sauce with a little bit of kick to it. I put it on my salad and it worked well with it. I found the chicken tenders to be on the dry side but certainly edible. My husband's pineapple chicken consisted of fried chicken tenders with a pineapple sauce that was simultaneously sweet and spicy. He enjoyed the sauce, and, thus the chicken. The potato salad had sweet undertones to it and had some peas and corn in it. I enjoyed this unconventional version. My husband liked the rice and peas, even though it was on the dry side. The peas were actually pigeon peas, which we both liked. My husband was pleasantly surprised by the food and said if this truck comes by again, he would gladly order from them. I, too, agree but now know to add the pineapple sauce to my chicken.

I never see food trucks near where I work and live (Reston) so when I found out about this guy I…read morehad to give it a try. My co-workers and I tried the bratwurst and currywurst with mixed reviews. The brat was good, as was the currywurst however one complaint was that it was not saucy enough. One person did not like the red cabbage, but the sauerkraut and potato salad both got high marks. One thing we all agreed on: the kaiser roll was pretty dry and not really edible unless you gave it a good pre-soak first. Again, this is where some extra sauce on the currywurst would have come in handy. The guy running the truck was super nice and greeted me with a friendly heckle when I took his picture "without permission." $9 is about average for lunch in this area and I enjoyed trying something different.

Worst sausages I can recall eating. Ever have a bbq and forget a couple sausages on the grill,…read moreonly to find them hours later; little black wrinkled and dried out cylinders. That's what bratwurst king sold us today at old ox brewery. I can't believe they sold it to us and I can't believe I paid for them. Should have known when I ordered and the sausages were immediately plated. Definitely not cooked to order and we were the only ones in line. They looked like they were probably sitting on the griddle all morning. That being said, the potato salad was really good and the red cabbage was pretty good. Wish they would have given us more of those and ate the sausages themselves. I'm sorry for the 1 star, but the king needs to know if he serves up that burnt garbage he deserves it.

This past weekend, I had one of those meals that lingers with you long after the last bite--halwa,…read morepuri, Punjabi murg chole, all coming together in a way that felt both familiar and completely new at Charcoal Chicken. The puri arrived hot and perfectly puffed--golden, light, and crunchy on the outside, yet soft enough to soak up every bit of flavor. Then came the Punjabi murg chole, and that's where the magic really happened. The chicken was tender and deeply seasoned, not overpowering, but rich with warmth and spice. Paired with the chickpeas, it created a hearty, comforting balance--earthy, savory, and incredibly satisfying. We all know halwa puri with chole is a classic. It's nostalgic, it's comforting, it's expected. But adding Punjabi-style chicken into the mix? That took the entire experience to another level. The chicken didn't compete with the chole--it elevated it. Every bite with puri felt intentional, layered, and indulgent. This wasn't just breakfast or brunch--it was a vibe. A bold twist on tradition that felt rooted yet exciting. If halwa puri is comfort food, then halwa puri with Punjabi murg chole is comfort food that decided to show up dressed sharp and confident. A combination I didn't know I needed--but now won't forget.

Really good, but next time I want to try some different items…read more I ordered the Garlic naan 6/10 not much flavor and the Briyani butter chicken. Although good, I really love saucy rice so I might have to try the Butter chicken independently. I'm also going to try a more standard briyani like the goat one. Overall, I will definitely give this spot another try. We ordered a to go meal. It took around 10-15 mins to prepare. A very casual looking spot.
