Chocolate chip cookie dough

Milwaukee Frozen Custard has been a family go to for years and years. We recently stopped in and where gladdened to see that the welcome and the service were so warm and friendly. Getting such a nice greeting puts a smile on one's face as does yummy frozen custard. Today we had the chocolate chip cookie dough which was smooth and creamy and just the right amount of sweet with a crunch cone. It's really fun to look at the monthly calendar and see what will be coming in the days ahead. The location is very clean with plenty of seating and lots of parking in the big lot right out front.

I'm from Milwaukee and I've been to many frozen custard stands. When I heard about this place I had to give it a try. It's a very basic shop in a strip mall. There are 5 or 6 tables for seating; but minimal atmosphere. I was somewhat disappointed that they only had 2 flavors of custard: chocolate and vanilla. They also had a special flavor of the day; Cherry Garcia. It was vanilla custard mixed with cherries and chocolate flakes. I decided to get a hot fudge sundae with vanilla custard. It was good; but nothing special, and a bit overpriced at $6.85. My husband had the turtle sundae. He said it was good but the caramel sauce hardened and it was difficult to scrape off the serving cup. I probably would have only given Milwaukee Frozen Custard 2 stars; but the service was good. Our order was made super fast. In addition to frozen custard they had many kinds of toppings available, and there were about 4 flavors of Italian ice.

$10 for a 10oz strawberry shake. I know the market isn't good. But damn. And its only vanilla custard and strawberry syrup. Cashier said it was fresh strawberries. I watched him scoop 2 spoons of strawberry syrup. Damn cheating business.

It's interesting to find a Milwaukee Frozen Custard place in Chantilly, and this place has been around for a good number of years. It seems like a local favorite, offering sundaes, cones, dishes with mix-in options, as well as brownies and pies. I usually have their Baby Turtle, which comes with two soft serve flavors of your choice - note that they only have 3 flavors available, which is chocolate, vanilla, and a 'flavor of the day' - when I went recently, it was butter pecan. I opted for vanilla and the butter pecan, which both were fine. The custard does melt quickly, so unless you're a quick consumer, your item will become a melty mess. They seem generous with their toppings, such as the fudge and the caramel, which I appreciated. The prices are more on the steep end, so one may get a slight sticker shock. There are a handful of tables inside as well as outside to enjoy your treat. Plenty of parking in the shared plaza lot. +3 flavors of custard offered daily - chocolate, vanilla, and a flavor of the day +plenty of parking in the shared plaza lot

As a Midwest gal, custard is my jam. So when I discovered this place by my mother in laws in the burbs of VA, I was skeptical. We show up and it's a throwback to Milwaukee, Wisconsin custard! Oh my gosh it was amazing. Really no frills but if you've been to any authentic custard shops, that's exactly how it is. Got a large turtle sundae with vanilla ice cream and shared it with the husband. Really regret sharing as I wanted to order a second. The vanilla doesn't have that artificial flavor you sometimes find and the whip cream tasted homemade. Delish, will be going back! Editing to include costs. With tax and tip I paid about $8. Yes on the higher end but I can only imagine post COVID and inflation they had to raise prices? Willing to pay for quality and I did not feel ripped off.

TL;DR: Silky Custard, lots of topping options and variations (sundaes, concretes, cones), different flavor of the day This place has been here for as long as I can remember, it's crazy that I haven't written a review yet. Frozen desserts is one of my favorite things ever. Ice cream, Froyo, Custard, Gelato, Etc. I love this place! The texture of the frozen custard is SO good. It's nice and soft, full of flavor, and you can customize it as you wish. They have flavor of the day custards, so take a look at their calendar to see what they offer that day. When you first walk in, the space definitely looks outdated, but that doesn't matter. I think this place is a small family owned business, usually see 1 or 2 people working at the most, so be patient, as there is a line sometimes, but they work pretty fast! My favorite things there so far: ~Concretes (5/5): basically like a Mcflurry or a blizzard with your choice of custard flavor, but omg last time we went, my husband got an Oreo concrete with vanilla custard, and it was SO GOOD. My favorite is Butterfinger with chocolate custard. ~Brownie Sundae (4/5): Very rich and decadent. The brownie was so yummy and warm, especially against the cold custard. ~Hot Fudge Sundae (5/5): How can you go wrong with a classic? Always satisfies my cravings.

Had always been one of my favorite place to get soft serve ice creams in the summer. Lots of options for toppings. Not too crowded. I usuallly get a kids size. A la Mode ice cream were the best. Warm Brownie, cold ice cream, perfect for summer days! Service were great, fast and quick!

At first I was a bit thrown off by the simplicity - they only offer three flavors each day: chocolate & vanilla (always) and a specialty flavor - butterfingers the day I went. Got the small butterfinger to share with my family. It was a bit on the pricey side. $5 for a small size, but so yummy! My husband said we can go back anytime.

(Once I had to order a second one during the same visit when a visit with a friend was stretching longer than planned!) I love watching them carefully make each drink fresh, and you can tell the employees really take the preparation and service seriously! The matcha ice cream has also been good when I've gotten it, although some of the rotating combos are better than others. There's plenty of seating, and there are even extra tables and chairs in the center to set up when it gets busier. It's definitely worth a visit here whether you are looking for a beverage or a sweet treat!

Quick service and I had no issues with staff. Got the Midori Lychee drink and tried samples of the Matcha and Ube flavored soft serve. The Ube was sweet and yummy while the Matcha was less sweet than I expected, but still sweet and decent. I won't lie, I liked matcha soft serve at another spot better than this place, but it hits the craving. The Lychee drink was refreshing and good. Loved the vibrant green colors in their drinks even after being mixed. Overall, good and not bad but I think I had higher expectations of the taste given this place is raved about on social media for this being a top tier matcha spot. It's decent, but not the best matcha drinks I've had.

The service was quick, I would say that if you get two scoops, ask them to put your fav one first bc they always put more of that flavor. NO COMMUNICATION AND NO CUSTOM CAKE!!! Horrible customer…read moreservice in terms of ordering online and communicating live with the customer. Custom cakes require 24 hours notice. I placed a detailed custom cake order Friday early evening, for a Sunday late afternoon pick-up. Email confirmation was received. No phone call, text or email from the store on Saturday, which I thought was perfectly fine. The same lack of communication on Sunday. Figuring no news is good news, I arrived at the store on Sunday for pick-up and there was NO CAKE. They received the order, as the young boy showed me the printed out receipt. He told me he called his manager on Saturday to tell them there wasn't a baker to make the cake, and... that was it. The young boy offered a pre-made cake sitting in their freezer, and though it was at least something offered, it would not account for the generous tip I had applied to the custom cake order. Also, there were no flavors available that were even close to what was paid for. The young boy said I could request a refund online, and I verified should something go wrong that I can call the store to have a refund processed, and the answer is yes. We will see how that goes... Where this is a typical ice cream shop and easy to get on the go sundaes, they are the absolute worst with custom cake requests. The lack of communication floors me!! The manager or no one on the staff thought to pick up the phone to let me know AND process a full refund right then and there?! We all are much better going to Wegmans, Costco or BJ's for a specialized cake. Dont waste your time because they don't care about yours. Saturday and Sunday could have been spent securing another cake elsewhere.
