Charles was great to work with! He was in my home for 3 full days and was on time every day and responsive with our requests. He completed 3 closet remodels (shelving, rods, etc.) he provided me with quotes before starting and sent me invoices almost immediately which is very helpful. Charles responded to my request for a new door quickly and quoted me 250 to replace and paint it. Then called to say he couldn't quite get the new door to fit and would have to replace the door and frame to make it right. After 4 hours a door that doesn't close and sloppy paint I said no thanks, will find someone else to fix it. The price went to just under 500 including an 88$ door. He did agree to 350 for the work. I fell for the old trick of quoting low then 'problems' increase the cost substantially. I gave him 2 stars for 'effort' , I'm guessing this project was beyond his expertise but his sloppy painting was a surprise. read more

He wanted me to sign a contract ... the issue with the contract ... it stated if he broke something or damaged it I would have to use my home owners insurance ???? Also he didn't understand anything about painting and patching ... I just had my room painted and the door frame wasn't filled when I moved in ... I asked him to do that ... he said it wouldn't work and it was crooked and the line where the two door trims meet would still be there (not true) also he wouldn't put the brand of paint he was using on the contract ... which I specifically wanted .. and he verbalized he would use ... the "contract" was open ended ... no set price like all other estimates prices ... he stated that if he finds more issues the price could change (something to that effect) ... didn't specify how many Coats what primer etc ... he wanted a deposit non refundable to "hold my spot" I was told over the phone the day he came to do the estimate he could do it that coming Tuesday ... when he got here he told me he had been booking jobs so it would be 2 weeks ... he was booked (people were calling him ) it was a small Job .. he wanted 1300.00 for ... with no knowledge of vinyl window caulking/sealant ... the house was painted with the wrong kind of caulking it was peeling ... I asked what his prep was .... and for 1300,00 (that was my discount ) approx ... he wasn't going to scrape or clean the walls like other contractors... the prep time he added was for painters tape etc .. regular items ... wanted more to scrape the window caulking off .. Just caulk over it ... he didn't seem like he knew a lot about painting ... said if he took the tv off the if it broke I was responsible? This small novel ... basically ... I had to keep asking him to add things to the "contract" to cover myself ... just I don't trust him ... I had it painted for 750.00 sans the base boards .. I was even willing to let him practice on crown molding ... I'm easy going I did that in my huge house with some painters ... but the non refundable deposit??? That is not ok ! Also I had to ask him to write that the deposit would be deducted from the final price ... about 3 different "contracts" it just ... I don't trust him ended up going with someone else that guarantees their work no deposit until the day of ... for supplies ... it took 4 coats too ... it was bright white over a green ... I knew I felt (I've paid many painters) and never had such a strange experience... I wouldn't trust him .... I think he would have used cheap paint ... not the one I wanted and over priced ... one last note ... I was going to do black baseboards new and all the trim .. so I can see why 2 colours would be more... but his comment on not having to tape off because of the new trim ... it would be "easier" ok,right there ... I knew ... if it's easier because no masking ... why more ? Also I asked if he would paint the baseboards/trim before he installed them (he was uncertain) so if he didn't ... he would have had to tape it off ... I could not get a straight answer ... but he wanted me to sign a contract that didn't state the complete job was sure to tell me Over and over my home Owners had to pay for any damages ? If you hire him make sure you have a detailed contract ... I have a photo of the contract .. just can't post it now ... I was not comfortable with this person ! read more

In July of this year, I hired Call it Done to install a riser on my mother's toilet. Prior to contacting them, we had two other handyman give assessments and say that the toilet or the riser was the wrong size. One of them even told us we needed to either buy a new toilet to fit the riser, or buy a taller toilet, and then they could install. Charles came to my mom's and, after assessing, said no problem. Although it may not have been an easy job, he was able to install the riser using the current toilet, and it's worked beautifully every since. I cannot say enough about how happy my mom and I are months later with the job done by this company. Charles not only saved us a lot of headaches and money on a new purchase, he was on time, very nice, and did a fantastic job. Nice guy, but wouldn't come out to see it first, so I sent measurements and pictures. When he got here he measured it smaller than I had, and increased the estimate from $500 to $800 right out of my budget. But I had already paid a $25 deposit so I had him replace a door instead, the door was sticking and I had to put my shoulder into it to open it.
