Nice atmosphere, great service, and pasta was delicious. Italian cream cake (not pictured) was also very tasty.

After parking with total ease outside, I stepped into a wonderfully inviting atmosphere that impressed me immediately. The decor is executed with great style, featuring a charming bar area alongside sophisticated, private dining tables. I opted to be seated at a lovely private table for a quiet, serene meal. The service was an absolute delight attentive, gracious, and utterly professional. My server, a delightful young woman named Sarah, took wonderful care of me and noted their quite impressive wine selection. To begin, I ordered an Espresso Martini, which was mixed to sheer perfection a delightful boost and more than enough to set a splendid tone for a Sunday afternoon. For my main course, I selected the Shrimp Gamberetti. The dish was a complete triumph, remarkably generous with high quality shrimp, beautifully seasoned, and served piping hot. From the stunning decor and pristine ambiance to the exceptional cuisine and flawless service from Sarah, this visit was worth every moment. Full marks I shall most certainly return whenever business brings me back through the area!

A couple of other large parties had the same idea and I was glad we made advance reservations. Staff was attentive throughout. The bread service was a very good Italian type bread loaf slices with olive oil. I would have liked some Italian seasoning to add to it to make it even better. For appetizers my daughter insisted on the Fried Mozzarella Ravioli and I wanted to try the Arancini. Both were excellent! My wife and I decided to split the Seafood Linguini and each got a salad. I chose the Caesar side salad and she wanted the Italian side salad. I was wanting to try their gnocchi but that was the 1 item on the menu the server said that they did not have. (Unfortunately I didn't't find out until after I tried to order and had my mind set on it) There was a good amount of seafood but 1 more shrimp would have made it much easier to split evenly. Even sharing we were full especially knowing we had cake waiting for us back at the condo. Everyone else seemed to enjoy their choices as well. I can see why Taste is the go to choice for my daughter and her husband when they want to celebrate.

For us Bama fans, the afternoon turned out far better than what the football team put on the field a few days earlier. The basketball team showed up ready to play and made up for that New Year's Day disappointment. But let's be honest--we were really here for Italian food, and DePalma's was happy to oblige. It had been over a year since we last stepped inside this establishment, not because of any past experiences, but simply because this place stays busy. On a typical weekend, folks are packed in here like cordwood, and the sidewalk outside looks like someone kicked over an ant farm. That said, there's a reason for the crowd--DePalma's consistently delivers good Italian eats. The old building still carries plenty of character, with wine bottles lining the walls and the nostalgic bar where an old pharmacy once served Coke and a smile. These days, instead of sodas and prescriptions, they're rolling dough and making pasta behind that same bar, and I'd say that's a pretty solid upgrade. We started with the stuffed mushrooms, which were outstanding. When we finished, the plate was so clean you could've put it back in the cabinet--only a few grains of salt remained as evidence they were ever there. For my meal, I ordered the pine nut-crusted salmon along with a Caesar salad. It was my first time having their salmon, and it definitely won't be my last. The dish was excellent--well-prepared, flavorful, and proof that stepping outside your usual order at DePalma's can pay off. I've eaten here many times over the years and can honestly say I've never had a bad experience. Great food, great service, and great company--even the Kentucky fans who made the trip down to watch their beloved Cats get smacked around on the hardwood. All in all, DePalma's remains a Tuscaloosa staple for a reason. Crowded? Usually. Worth it? Absolutely.

Glad we found it, because no one was disappointed. If you've never been here, don't be a noob like me and go sit down. Pick up a menu and go order at the bar like all the normal people that have been here before. If you can't decide what to get, I have a pretty good suggestion: Garlic knots are awesome. You should get those for a starter. The marinara is a tad runny for my liking, but don't let that dissuade you. I'd eat them with no sauce. After you get a taste of some of those delicious garlic knots, go ahead and put some wings in your belly next. The order you should do that in by deliciousness (that I have tried) is: Hot Honey BBQ, Hot, Jamaican Jerk. The wings all have a nice crisp, which I Iike. The Honey BBQ and Hot I thought had exceptionally good flavors. Jamaican Jerk was decent, but not my favorite ever. Then for pizza, I just got everyonr a large Rock and Roll pizza to share. I already forgot all what was on it, but everyone else on here recommended it, now I will do the same. Just look at the menu, make sure the ingredients on it will not kill you, then order it. Large is16"/ or about 12 fairly large slices. Our first visit here was successful. It will definitely be added into the Columbus rotation.
