Ribeye with sweet bourbon sauce on the side and fries.
    Neal M.

I took my leaders here for our leadership outing dinner. It was the first time for most of us. This seems to be a long running place in town. The interior is kind of interesting. Bright lights, carpet and some exposed brick. We shared the cheese sticks and spinach dip. Not to be rude but cheese sticks are a serious thing in Columbus and these were fine but probably around 5th best. The dip was ok but didn't seem to have cream, cream cheese or sour cream in it. Mostly cooked down spinach with some cheddar cheese on top. It also wasn't a show stopper. What was the show stopper? The steak! Their ribeyes are cut in a way that most purists would likely scoff at. They cut the fat cap off! So you get more meat than fat. I'm down with this! My medium rare steak had an amazing char on it and was still nice and red. I cannot WAIT to comeback again!

12-13oz Ribeye, asparagus, grilled mushroom & onions

Went to Golden Horn for dinner tonight with my husband and I must say, WOW! We've had our fair share of good steaks back home in Houston, but I've got to say that the steak we had here has got to be one of the bests we've had. The ribeye was so juicy, tender, and full of flavor. The service was pretty good as well. Our server was super sweet and attentive. We loved the casual atmosphere. We will definitely come back, especially since it is only an 8 minute drive from home!

Good service just a little slow. Food was ok. Steaks were good on a scale of 1 to 10 about a 6.5. Relaxed atmosphere.

That grill taste is hard to beat! Clean place that's worth the short drive outside of Starkville or Columbus.

Great steak and seafood friendly service a family restaurant. The only thing that would make it better is a recliner to sit in.

Though the venue is intimate in size, the decor is delightfully charming, creating a wonderfully authentic and inviting atmosphere. I was seated in a cozy, private section that offered the perfect setting for a quiet, relaxed luncheon. The ambiance and overall vibe were simply marvelous. The service was top-tier from start to finish attentive, remarkably gracious, and warm. To accompany my meal, I ordered a classic, crisp Coca-Cola served ice-cold. For my course, I selected the fried catfish accompanied by fries. When the platter arrived, it was an absolute triumph! The catfish was cooked to flawless perfectio crisp, tender, extraordinarily fresh, and seasoned with real mastery. It made for a deeply comforting and completely satisfying meal that exceeded every expectation. Between the pristine preparation, charming atmosphere, and flawless hospitality, The Little Dooey earns absolute full marks from me. The parking can be interesting and the signage is very confusing because it says permit parking...we weren't sure if that was for patrons or not. When you enter the establishment, you are overwhelmed with signage asking you to make sure and close the door and various other signs. With that being said, we did not see the sign that said they were out of all drinks with the exception of tea. It would have been nice to be told that when we ordered a soft drink You order as soon as you walk in and then they bring the food to the table. This is a little overwhelming as you can not see the menu until your turn to place the order and with the line forming behind you, that can be stressful. The food is decent, but nothing spectacular. My son had the pulled pork sandwich with Mac n cheese and enjoyed it. My husband had the 2 piece catfish platter and while he enjoyed it, it wasn't the best he has ever had. He said he would probably try something else if we come back. I had the pulled pork grilled cheese with onion rings and I really enjoyed my meal. There was a good amount of pulled pork with some yummy pimento cheese and it was toasted perfectly. The onion rings had a nice light batter, but were served perfectly crisp. I would definitely order my meal again if we come back and the portion was so large that my husband and I thought we could definitely split it. Overall, not the best meal we had in Starkville, but we would come back if others wanted to give it a try.

It was pretty crowded as expected on a weekend so I decided to just sit at the bar. The place itself was clean, nice, and obviously well kept. Some of the other reviews are what sparked my interest, and I can honestly say that I'm glad I showed up. I told the bartender it was my first time in and told her I was looking for a steak. The one she suggested had a small sweet marinade to it. I'm not really a sweet steak guy but I went with it.... and man was it really good. Cooked to perfection (medium rare) and tasted super fresh. The Mac and cheese was also solid, as was the sweet tea. Now... the chicken noodle soup: I loved it. Big soup here and although this soup was not "brothy" at all, it was thick and creamy, so good. Overall, I can't wait to go back to Starkville if it's on the schedule next spring because if it is, I know where I'll be returning for a meal.
