Stopped in to get my coffee fix and had a great time. Small shop but quality is fantastic. Got an Alpha(steampunk) cup of their reserve coffee. The barista explained the alpha process and the Ethiopian reserve bean to me very well. Great experience. Not a lot of room to sit and chill inside but this is seaside so grab a cup of coffee and go outside to enjoy the weather. Observations: they have a large assortment of teas and have nitro cold brew coffee on tap which are both fantastic. read more

EXCELLENCE!!! That is the word to describe my amazing experience at Amavida during vacation. What a surprise find. The coffee, Peruvian Light Roast, was an amazing morning refresh. We ordered breakfast reluctantly expecting to get the typical bland cardboard tasting food you get at Panera and Starbucks. When I opened my carry out box at the picnic table I was very impressed with the attention to details. The avocado toast was fresh and generously portioned. The sesame and caraway seed sprinkle with the pickled onions was a really nice and beautiful touch. My goodness, the BREAD!!! The wonderfully toasted bread under both the almond butter banana and avocado toast was high quality and crunchy and soft. The best surprise for a person who likes a little heat was the ramekin of crushed red pepper for avocado and amber honey for the almond butter. Everyone was friendly and we felt safe during such an uncertain time. My sole suggestion would be to clean the exterior dusty door frame on top of the door on a regular basis and windows. I know with the salt and sand that is a constant struggle. read more

Very good coffee. I had a white chocolate mocha and my husband had his regular quad shot mocha. The people working seemed very nice and friendly. They were curious where we were from. Very informative about the area. The area....a variety cute little shops outside. A row of food trucks to satisfy your cravings. It was a very nice little area in Seaside Florida. I only wished it hadn't been raining most of the time we were there. I would loved to have walked around. read more

Coffee: some of the best I've ever had. They won some kind of Roaster of the Year award, and it shows. Latin Food: top-notch. We got a couple of things among us - 2 "taquitos" (they're really tacos), an Arepa, and a Torta. They're all excellent, and all $9.95. Pro-tip is, the torta is the most food for the money. But either way, it is hands-down the best food in Seaside. read more

Stopped here while we were visiting the little town as the entire family needed an afternoon pick-me-up. We tried quite a few of their coffees- from cold brew, to vanilla latte, to drip, and even an iced americano. All in all, it was good coffee but not great. Their was not extra Jazz for me and nothing really stood out. I would stop by again when I am in need of some caffeine, but I would not go out of my way. Stopped in this little shop for tea. They had a nice selection. I decided on coconut oolong tea. The fragrant was delicious. The wait was not long and the decor was nice with nice art hung on the wall. I asked the barista where they get their oolong tea. Her response was... I believe oolong tea comes from china or Taiwan. ??? Really?? I said, yes. I understand that. Who makes this tea. She told me the brand. The 3 baristas at the shop could not stop looking at me and were not pleasant at all. I smiled and tried to be friendly but felt the stares were due to the fact I was maybe the one Asian there amongst the thousands of white people there. I certainly did not feel welcome here nor will I come back. The tea was nice but the service was not. read more

While on vacation in Seaside, we made a morning habit of getting our bikes, riding to the downtown area and stopping at Amavida for a beverage and breakfast. Featuring organic-earth friendly- chakra calming - oneness inducing coffee (at least that is what I gathered from reading various literature) and teas for your breakfast. Ok, for me, I like a good smooth cup of joe, the regular stuff that they serve as part of the daily morning service. While their special blends looked great, I was very happy with my standard fare. For me the highlight was the breakfast options. Scones (wife loved the savory ones), sandwiches and pastries. All very tasty and well made. The shop is small, so be prepared for a line. Still, get your stuff, then grab a table and sit out front and watch the world go by. Also, don't forget to breathe - it is, after all, Seaside. Enjoy. read more

I worked in Seaside last summer, and Amavida quickly became a go-to place when I was looking for a caffeine fix or a light lunch. The coffee is great, and the chai tea became a part of my daily routine. Most of the food is decent, but the chicken salad sandwich is amazing; I could probably live off those (and I think there was a week where I did.) The people who work there are great, and they often have live music performing outside. It's the best place in Seaside to go to for a pick-me-up. read more

This is by far the best Coffeeshop in town. It's a B corporation and follows ethical business practices in addition to creating a friendly vibe & great coffee! Only downside of this location was the fact that there's a tshirt store sharing the space in what I assume is a way to bring the rent down. I'm guessing it's probably hard for a business like Amavida to stay afloat in town while the rents must be rising astronomically. Wish them the best of luck for the future! This is the coffee shop on the central "square" in Seaside. I'm not much of a coffee drinker, but it was chilly and threatening rain, so when a friend wanted herbal tea, I agreed to join her. They've got a pretty long list of teas. I chose the tumeric ginger herbal tea thinking it would be zesty and full of anti-inflammatories needed post race. Sure, it's hard to mess up stocking tea and heating water, but I was impressed with the double cups and how they put the edge of the tea bag in between them to hold it in place for the steeping. That and when I researched the Rishi tea that they were selling on the shelves, I came to find out that it's an iced tea and one bag is designed to make 1 quart. So I was getting super concentrated tea, and I loved it. The coffee smelled good, too. read more

A couple years ago we went here and had terrible espresso. .. . .tasted fermented, of all things. BUT today we went back and had a totally different experience. My wife got the small sized latte with an extra shot, but little did we know that it normally comes with 2 shots, so hers was a triple. It was excellent, excellent. I got just an espresso with a dab of soy. It too was fabulous. I'd say the best or second-best espresso I've ever had. They do make their espresso by hand - not in a super-automatic like at Starbucks - so I suppose the quality can vary from visit to visit, but ours was top-notch today. My decaf Americano was excellent with the delicious crema, in a cappuccino cup and served with a real spoon. I asked for the 8oz with two shots. It was so nice to see a place offer 8 oz servings. The staff made up the order correctly but they were more involved with their own conversations than with the customers. This particular shop has only bar-type of seating along with outside table and chairs. Not a comfortable chatting atmosphere but certainly a handy place to get a drink to take to the shopping area or the beach. I considered getting some beans but their selection was limited. Amavida, a local coffee shop, also sells Latin American food at its Seaside location- go figure, right? Prices are more affordable than many restaurants in the area and the food here is simple, straightforward and good. You know what you're getting, and it's not an overpriced Niçoise salad that's more of an appetizer than an entrée. Good Mexican food is hard to find on 30a, especially if you don't want to, or can't, venture out to highway 98 to the Mexican mercaditos and restaurants. The Amavida in Seaside hired a Hispanic woman to cook some authentic dishes to go along with their coffee and pastry options. Watch out, she makes a mean red sauce that will leave you in tears if you eat too much of it! You can sit inside at the air-conditioned bar or brave the sweltering heat and sit at one of the outdoor tables. From left to right, we ordered the P1 El Gallo Mexican Chicken Burrito $8.95, A1 La Reina Chunky Chicken with Avocado Salad Arepa $7.95, and the E1 El Boriqua Picadillo Beef (Spiced Beef), Carrots, and Potatoes Empanada $6.95. All portions were hefty enough for lunch and tasty enough to return. The burrito and arepa were simple but good. I would have liked the arepa to be seasoned more, but that's typically the nature of arepas. The empanada was a stand out- a thin, fried outer shell generously filled with seasoned beef and vegetables served with a tangy green salsa. If you love empanadas as much as I do, I would absolutely return to the Seaside location to grab a simple lunch or hot snack. Oh right, and the coffee... I can't really comment on their coffee drinks and pastries since our sole reason for going into Amavida was their Mexican food but maybe next time I'll actually order a beverage! read more

There's this lady in the back that makes the most amazing chicken avocado arepas (chicken and avocado between two corn pancake tortilla bun things) which makes for a really good lunch. Amavida roasts their own fair trade coffee and the baristas know their stuff. If you like the burnt bean taste of Starbucks coffee espresso, you won't get that flavor profile here. It's a small space and so indoor seating is limited but there is enough room to plop down with your laptop and check some emails. read more

I love Amavida, their iced coffees are amazing for the summer and their warm mochas are perfect in the winter. For a cup of water it is $.50 but that's reasonable for discouraging people to waste plastic cups. I talked to their barista about this and apparently they aren't charging for the water but the cup because it's a waste for water, they kindly said that if I had a bottle to fill it would be free. Their pastries are fantastic!! 10/10! read more

This is definitely above average coffee in an excellent location. The milk for their cortado was served too hot a couple times but perfect the other couple of times so there is a little bit of inconsistency depending on who's on the machine. I've had nothing other than the coffee here so I cannot comment on the rest. The location is to die for. Textbook definition of tourist trap but still very, very beautiful and well worth visiting and walking around. read more

Espresso was great prices fair/pricey but after I made a purchase I asked for a water and was told it would be a 55 cejt charge? Are you kidding me? I spend $5 in your store and I can't get some water, absurd. Couldn't believe it when she told I have been to many coffee shops and I work in one never have I ever heard of charging people for water. I am so glad I chose this place to come to for my morning coffee. The customer service couldn't be friendlier and the coffee selection is fantastic. The inside...it has some seating but not too much inside. There are several places outside to sit. They have free wifi as well. I noticed they have a rack of newspapers for everyone to read which is very nice. The grub.... i tried the Ethiopian that they were offering and I am considering getting some for my home. It is quality coffee and I wish I Could bring one of these to birmingham. I didn't try any but their pastry case looks incredible. They are all about fresh,natural,and quality products here. Great location in the heart of seaside with a small and somewhat congested interior but they do offer outdoor seating. Boisterous atmosphere so not the best spot for studying or reading. I visited with a group of girls and we ordered a variety of beverages: Green Tea, Soy Latte and Iced White Mocha, all of which were sadly underwhelming. One of my favorite coffee shops. Service is friendly and fast. Great location on the beach side of Seaside. Perfect place to ride your bike to and drink your coffee on the beach. Bike racks are right in front of the coffee shop. Nice touch is there are kid size cups and they will make the hot Chocolate at kid temperature which will not burn their mouths. I also like that they have skim milk on the stir and cream bar so you don't have to ask for it. read more

We were recently in Amavida Coffee shop while staying at our friends home in Seaside. We went there Monday morning. We ordered two iced coffees. One regular and one decaf. One regular milk and one nonfat. I took one taste and thought it the worst coffee I ever had. I even went back to the counter and asked if the date on the milk had expired, thinking that was the problem ( besides the coffee tasting bitter and watery, really not good coffee). I was told it was fine. I walked out of store and tried it again and threw it in the trash. My friend who I was with took a taste of hers and She threw hers away also. I would not go back. We waited ten minutes for the worst beverage and it cost us ten bucks. I would avoid this coffee shop. Spend your money elsewhere. read more
