The employee taking our order lacks customer service skills with no personality. The buzzer given to us never went off...when I went to the order pick up area, there were people standing outside waiting on food that never arrived. When I was asked about my order, the employee said they messed up my order which was buzzed to another customer and didn't offer an apology...just a "here you go" and went back inside. Food was cold and portion size is a joke for the price you pay. I would have been better off buying from the food trucks across the street. read more

Really great lunch today in Seaside! It was a little confusing to find where to actually sit --there aren't any interior tables --but we finally figured it out and sat on the backside (outside) at the bar. They had large cooler fans blowing, which was really helpful. We had a grouper sandwich, which was excellent (but pricey). We also had blackened shrimp tacos --kind of wish there had been more shrimp but they tasted great. My friend had a mocktail and I had a French 75 --both delicious. All of that totaled $85ish? Pricey for lunch but it's Seaside --so expected. read more

I came here for the lunch the first of our 4 day trip, and ordered my first ever lobster melt. It was the best sandwich I've ever had. I came back and ended up getting the same sandwich for 3 of my 4 lunches. Each time I went around 10-11 a.m. and probably only had a 10-15 minute wait. Bar service is pretty good. My only complaint would be the price, but I don't mind spending a little more on good food on vacation. read more

The one thing they can improve though is the pricing of the lobster melt It costed 30 dollars, plus the cost of gumbo, and it didn't even have much lobster inside the sandwich, they need to lower the prices on food. Cute little shack on the water front with great views and great drinks. We had dinner here one night and it was good but nothing spectacular. IMO, a little overpriced. Blackened shrimp (protein plate) was exactly what you expect - I just didn't like it was drowning in butter when I got it. Gumbo was flavorful but more soupy than packed with all the stuff you want (rice, shrimp, sausage, etc). Jonathan got the grouper sandwich and said "it was an 8/10, would get it again". We also got the Trio baked oysters- the chorizo monthly special one was both of our favorites! Honestly drinks and bartenders really stand out at this place. The claim of having the best key lime pie is false. There is no lime flavor and half of it is whip cream. The graham cracker crust is also extremely thick and tastes burnt. So we ate at The Shrimp Shack twice during our week stay at 30A. The first visit was great - best blackened shrimp I've had and my son said his lobster roll was "life changing." We ordered out the second night, which was an adventure. We used the website toast, worked great. Tried to park to pick it up (we're 30A noobs and will never try that again). Drove back to where we were staying 3/4 mile away. To ensure hot shrimp was delivered to my family, I ran in sandals there and back. Only to come back and realize it was the wrong order. We went back to trade the 1.5 lbs of shrimp they gave us for lobster rolls and more blackened shrimp. The wrong order game is always a gamble, but not only did they fix it, they also gave us free key lime pie, great service! The drinks were great as well. Went here for lunch after a long bike ride and the location and food delivered! We had lobster rolls, shrimp tacos, gumbo and some great local draft beer. Although I find Seaside overly crowded most of the year, I cannot stop myself from going here, as the food overrides the lack of parking or the business.
