This place right here! Amazing!?Man oh man! I found out about it through a family member that came across an associate! They had mini cupcakes. Two different kinds. I had to try both. Chocolate Cupcake with a mint frosting and a Lemon Cupcake with a lemon frosting. They were fabulous. The cupcake was moist and full of flavor. It actually tasted like chocolate and lemon. Whoa. Okay so the frosting I'm not sure how they make but it's really good too. Sometime frosting can be too much and we disregard. Not these ones! It's light fluffy and tasty. Amazing cakes is a good local bakery. Their ordering process (through Facebook messenger) is super easy - type your request through the chat. And I'm sure they have easy workarounds for those that don't have messenger. The owners are accommodating for the most part. We ordered a 3 tier cake, 2 dozen cupcakes, and a dozen cookies for my daughters 3rd birthday. The cookies were delicious (shortbread we think). The cake in the cupcakes and cake was delicious - light and fluffy, exactly what I expect from a cake. The frosting is where they lost a star in my vote. During my search for a bakery for our celebration, I realized most bakeries (if not all cause I have yet to find one that doesn't) in this area use American buttercream, which is a big letdown. American buttercream is so overly sweet. Way too much. When I first contact amazing cakes via phone, I asked if I could request meringue buttercream instead of American. She was hesitant at first, but said yes. But when I switched over to contact them through fb messenger, I believe I began chatting with someone else because they told me no. I was sad, but they promised their buttercream was delicious. I even came into the bakery to try out some cupcakes beforehand. And I was right - their frosting is tooo sweet. Sugar overload. We ended up throwing half the frosting away. I communicated to their staff, which she commented they appreciated the feedback because the owners were trying to adjust the recipe so it wasn't so sweet. Still to sweet. Instead of adjusting an American buttercream recipe which will always be too sweet, they should really try offering meringue buttercream as an option. Even if it were at a higher cost, I know I'd pay it cause it's worth it. Everything else other than the frosting was great. read more

But they are expensive and dry and after trying a few times, throughout different times of the day, I figured that's just how they are and I personally think Nanas Tiny Cakes just about 2 miles away or Simply Sweets by Jen in downtown Vancouver are much more moist and consistent, also reasonably priced. read more
