They don't even prep the nails before putting on the acrylic they left my cuttles hanging. The lady who did my nails station was very un sanitary. I called Sunday morning at 11am for an appt, they scheduled me for 1pm that afternoon. At 11:30 am I got a message from Mimi saying they needed me to reschedule the appt. When I called me back they said I had been late and they were waiting around for me and got nasty on the phone. I told them I have never been there. I would have been a new customer. I said they showed me they were not the right place for me and that I would move on and hung up. Worst service ever. Got yelled at as a new customer that had never been there. read more

I was shocked to see how low the reviews were for Amazing Nail. I'm an avid manicure girl and when I moved to the area about 6 months ago, I tried a few places. None of the nail places I went to had great gel, it came off after a week. Once I found this place, I haven't gone anywhere else. I go every two weeks or three depending how long I can wait and have never had a bad experience. Everyone is so nice and helpful with colors (it takes me way too long to decide). They have so many color options and their prices are very reasonable. It's $30 with just a gel manicure or $33 if they have to remove the gel first before doing the gel manicure. read more

If I could give 0 stars I would. Usually I only rate people who do a great job, but this was by far the worst overpriced manicure I've ever had. I got a gel manicure, and there's dark spots, bubbles, uneven filing. I didn't have time for her to fix it and it took an hour and a half for a gel. It was terrible. Also the color selection was atrocious. No OPI dip colors, and colors don't match the swatches. I wanted to get my eyebrows done too but it was such a bad experiences, I didn't want them touching my face. I will never go back. read more

I haven't personally received service at this salon, yet my teens have over several occasions for acrylic nails. Location is very convenient, but after witnessing them hand over their money for such poor quality work I've instructed them no more. Staff is very friendly, as I've popped in while my teen's were there & my daughter even left her wallet once that I had to pick up. Pricing is very reasonable too, but doesn't matter much when your acrylics are uneven & paint all over your cuticles/fingers. It's highly unlikely that the same tech provided all services, so I believe it's safe to say high quality work won't be found here. read more

Nothing about this place is amazing. They're rude, service is horrible, nail techs need to go back to school to really learn how to do nails properly & they have no respect for people's time. I've been coming here for almost six years and I don't trust anyone else with manicures/pedicures or eyebrow waxes. Jacqueline is the best for eyebrows, and I've had great experiences with everyone here for nails, especially Linda. They're also super hygenic because they give you your own file/buffer and keep it for you in a box with your name on it and you get to re-use it every time you come. They also offer you snacks and drinks and there are plenty of magazines to read. I've been to other places that are more expensive and have had to have the re-do my nails or eyebrows before leaving because they missed parts or there were chips/bubbles. I've had nails last here for 2 weeks, but my most recent, a french manicure only lasted a few days (my own pickiness). Last time I told them that my nails always flake and I hate it, and they buffed down my nails to smooth them out! I would go here for the mani-pedi combo, and don't get french. Their acrylic nails are great though! I stopped getting them out of personal taste. read more

They do have up the plexiglass though which is a plus! Hours have changed lately too, they close at 6pm so heads up for that. Be careful with this nail salon. First off there's nothing spa to it. Went in for an acrylic fill. The price posted was $20 when it came time to pay the lady charged me $22 because I used more than one color nail polish. Nowhere on their price sheet does it state an extra charge. When the lady was filing down my nails two of them were really long and they were not the same length as the nails on the other hand. however because she was in a rush she ended up filing down my middle finger so small that I then had to ask her to go and do the rest so that they were around the same size. After I washed my hands before she was going to paint them I waited for the usual lotion and mini massager my hands and didn't get anything. When I asked about it they said that it was only for gel manicures. I've been getting my nails done for over 20 years and have never heard that. Again for a place that's supposed to be a nail salon / Spa I don't recommend it as far as customer service goes. I made my disappointment in their service now and she couldn't be bothered with trying to fix anything or making sure that the client was Happy. What a nightmare. I got powder dip nails here and went back in a few weeks later to have them removed. The whole reason I chose powder was because I had heard they were gentler on your nail and less damaging. The technician proceeded to literally pry the nails off, which was painful and completely destroyed my natural nails in the process. She did a half-hearted job of a regular manicure afterwards after commenting multiple times on how I should do a more expensive gel manicure, and then left two of my nails uneven and smudged. WARNING: VIOLENT EMPLOYEE!!! I went with my girlfriend so that she could get a full set. Everything started off ok. The man who was doing her nails seemed nice enough but when he finished it was a terrible job. The paint was all over and very very bubbly. We were not sure if this was because of the polish or because of him. We simply asked that we pick a new color and have someone else redo it. As were looking at new colors, the man became very hostile. Throwing things around including a chair and getting very loud shouting "F___ You!" over and over all while approaching us in a very threatening matter. It got to the point were the other staff had to hold him back and escort him to the back of the salon. He then proceeded to come out again and did the same thing. They finally pushed him into the back again. I would avoid this place at all costs if this man is still employed there. He was a shorter man with many tattoos. We didn't get his name because we felt so uncomfortable that we just wanted to get out there. Everyone else was very kind and apologized for his actions and offered to redo her nails but obviously we said no and left. PLEASE! For your safety, do go there if this man is still employed. At any professional establishment, he would have been fired on the spot for harassing customers the way he did. read more

This little lady has been there for I do not know how long. I've had 2 other nail technician and did not have any real successful connection. They said third times a charm right? Oh yes were my intuition correct! Mimi was friendly, nice (although English might be little iffy) she knew how to always keep a smile. Her precise work has me and my girls coming back for more! We went as part of a bridal party this month, and the manicure was bad- my nails have bubbles all over them and cuticles look messy. My pedicure also smudged that evening from being too thick and gloppy. Several of us had rude comments directed at us, and it was a constant battle to say no to pushy sales tactics. They even made 1 of us wait for a while when the bride had taken the time to make appointments to avoid that. I used to go here all the time with my girl friends but I decided they aren't worth my money. The technicians are really unprofessional. My first (and only) pedicure was at this place, and the water was so hot but she didn't change the temperature until the third time I announced it. Then she made fun of my feet with the technician working next to me. It was dreadful especially since I've had problems with my feet since I was young. It takes a lot for me to write a bad review.... I work in customer service and try to be kind to others in similar industries, but I was not treated kindly here. This place is the worst. My sweet husband bought me a gift card here so I could get a mani/pedi before delivering our baby. When I got there I very clearly asked if they would charge me to remove gel nail polish (twice) I was told no (twice) only to then be charged for it. I really don't mind paying for it- I just really don't appreciate dishonesty. The manager insisted I was confused and misunderstood but it was pretty clear to me I had been lied to and then talked down to about it. Finally, my gel manicure lasted less than 24 hours and the nail tech got nail polish all over my skin. I don't even want to go back to see if they will fix it. They were so rude to me that I'd rather just boycott the very conveniently located salon and tell all my friends to stay away. Never ever going back ever and neither should you. Where should I start. Ok here: I would give 0 stars but that's not an option. Also, please know that I am neither hypersensitive nor easily offended. I don't care if people are curt or not personable. I do draw the line at being bullied and injured. I left with two large burn marks on my face where wax was slathered and a bloody cuticle--and this after being told sternly to push back my own cuticles daily before asking for a manicure here, being pushed to accept further services three times (politely declining each time) and then an attempted bullying to tip more than my usual 20%. They used the same two strips to wax my entire face, and the same paper towel to dry up the blood from aforementioned cuticle and for the duration of the manicure. Yes, they double dip, no I didn't see any sterilization. I was also reprimanded for delaying the manicurists' lunch break. Finally, when I insisted they provide me with extra ointment after butchering my skin, I was dismissed. Was I stupid to stay after the first few eff-ups? Absolutely. But as difficult as a good nail salon is to find in Centreville, I hope others take my advice and stay far away. read more

This place is terrible... I used to be a nail tech. The lady I saw was too much in a hurry and jolted my legs around to finish as quickly as possible to get to the next client first. I had an express pedicure and was done in 15-20 minutes. The leg massage was a joke.( 1 minute tops on each leg). Sorry if I sound rude but I wasn't relaxed during my pedicure.. I went with my mom for girl time and I was siting there for a good 10 minutes drying before my mom was actually finished at the right pace. I have been using Amazing Nails for over 13 years. I have seen this Spa, grow, expand up to 20 manicurists. Unfortunately because of owner illness, local competition, and increasing rent, this small business owner has been struggling over the past 5 years. I still use this spa exclusively for my nails, love my manicurist, Jennifer. She is the best. The service is great, everyone is happy to see you and they don't rush you out. I went in for the first time, excited because it was highly recommended. My friend and I called ahead and were told we would be seen. We ended up waiting for 20 minutes. I was in there for three hours TOTAL for a pedicure and full set. The pedicure went fine, however the woman who did wanted to use sea salt at a $5 extra charge, which I've never been charged for that at ANY salon I've been to. She spent no less than 20 min on my full set and charged an extra $5 for the shape. They weren't even and she left acrylic under the nails in globs. She also pressured me to do gel and when I told her I didn't want gel she blobbed nail polish on them. She walked me to dry them and I politely asked her to fix them because they were splotchy. She was rude and blobbed more nail polish on them. These photos are after she "fixed them" it was actually worse before she "fixed" them. I had to ask 3 different people to have it fixed but the women were too busy looking for more clients to work on. The workers here focus on money, not quality. When asked for a refund, the women who did my nails proceeded to scream at me in front of the entire salon, saying I was charged the correct price for her work. I wouldn't recommend it to anyone or return. I still want a refund for this horrible work. I had to go to another salon to have them fixed. Save yourself the $68 and go to someone who takes time to correctly do their job and acts professional. read more

I was here recently for a shellac manicure and pedicure. This was my first time and I had Mimi working on my nails. Let's start with the pedicure. Mimi asked if I wanted a spa pedicure. I told her I wanted a basis pedicure, meaning the most low maintenance and cheapest. She did a few things that I am not used to having done in a basis pedicure, but I know every place is different, so I didn't question it. Everything was great until she started to paint my nails. I have small toenails, and Mimi took it upon herself to paint on my SKIN, I guess to make my toenails appear larger? I have had lots of pedicures and have never had anyone do this. I had to ask her to remove the polish from my skin and point out each spot where it needed removed. I finally had to tell her 'ONLY paint on my nails'. It was very odd. Then, when I went to pay, I was charged $38 for a 'basis' pedicure! I think she went ahead and did the next level up, the spa pedicure, and charged me for that. I also got a shellac manicure. I had to tell her to touch up the corners of my nails so that the entire nail was painted. I felt like I was teaching someone how to paint nails. Also, on my way home, I noticed that my nails were basically stuck to my skin because she did such a poor job of painting and keeping the polish on my nail. I was charged $35 for this manicure, and it was nothing special. It also started peeling 5 days after getting it, when every other shellac manicure I've ever had has lasted 2 weeks. I was charged $73 total, plus I had to tip, which I really didn't want to and shouldn't have. Mimi seemed to be in a huge hurry the whole time and was very sloopy and careless. I thought about my experience for a few days, then decided to call and complain. The manager said I could come back in that week (which was not at all convenient for me) and have Mimi redo my manicure. Why the heck would I want the same lady who screwed it up the first time to redo it?! So, I have decided to put this behind me, never go there again, and warn others. read more

*updated 2017* Ask For Tina She is there almost everyday a week, sits in back. I and my mom has my nails done many times here in last 3 years with her and they last very long ( about 3 weeks ). She is a great, gentle and NEVER EVER RUSHING through and get her job DONE, no mater how long it takes. Especially, She is very good at making french manicures. She is not really good at English but she knows what I wants and gets her jobs done perfectly. She does not have a lousy voice but always smile at customers. So I walk in at 4:30pm on a weekday and start to say "Hi, I'm here for..." and I get interrupted with "Write your name down and have a seat." Umm...okay. There was nobody sitting in the pedicure area at all. So I write my name and have a seat. Then, from a distance, the man says "What you want?" I say, "A pedicure." He says "pick a color". So I start to browse through the colors. All of the nail polish colors have probably been sitting on that rack for at least three years, but I find a color any way. I look at the man assuming he's going to tell me which pedicure chair to sit in, but instead he says "Take a seat". I start to get annoyed. Finally a nice lady comes and shows me which pedicure chair to sit in. Luckily the chairs are in great condition, with all the massage functions properly working. The lady was very nice and gave me the "spa" pedicure. For $39, I think the spa pedicure should have lasted 45 minutes to an hour, but it was only about 30 minutes. The lady that did my pedicure was actually very nice. It's unfortunate, however, that as a customer you're not greeted very warmly. Another *huge* draw back is that when I went to pay, there was some small print that said tips aren't allowed to be charged on credit cards. So, needless to say, the girl was pretty pissed when I left no tip...but I don't carry cash...so that's not my problem. Overall, I probably won't go again. I decided I needed some "ME time" and wanted to get a pedicure. I decided I would try this place out due to the fact that it is so close to home. I went late on a Friday night and the place only had one other customer. Cindy came and was very friendly and asked what I liked to have done. I told them what I wanted and she was very nice and accommodating. I brought in my own color because I wanted to try it out and she recommended another color that was on the shelf. The color choices were not impressive and looked like they hadn't been restocked in a hot minute . What the other Yelper said about this is so true. BRING YOUR OWN NAIL POLISH!!!'. Now Cindy was very talkative and was always asking if I was comfortable. Once I was done with my pedicure I decided to get a hot wax treatment and I wasn't too impressed. It was a messy experience, wax was all over the place --not my cup of tea but it could be yours. Ive been to other places that have done it much differently and I would prefer the less messier of the two. Overall, it was a decent experience and my toes look fine. I am giving them 3 stars because they were very friendly. I will go again and give you an update of whether this is a yay or nay spot. read more

I live in South Riding, so rather than trek out to Fairfax like I normally do to get my nails done, I decided to try somewhere close by. I went in for a fill and will never go back again. Not only did it take over an hour, but the work was mediocre. I have never experienced nail polish chipping off on uv gel, but there is a first for everything! Less than a week later my nails looks horrible. The pedicure was below average , the lady that did it was not paying attention to detail or maybe was bored, she would put a lotion on one foot then forget or do something different on the other.
