I'm 100 percent happy with this salon. I've been here 3 times this summer for pedicures and have walked out with beautiful toes each time. All the techs are amazing (I tried to make appointments with the same person who saw me first, but they seem ok to pass me around lol! So I've had 3 different techs). They always used to do my nails really well before the pandemic, so it only made sense to go back here again but nope, this time was straight up horrible. I came in for a full set of acrylics. Nail tech did a good job with the nails, but six of my fingers were bleeding because she cut and drilled my cuticles the wrong way. Nail tech didn't bother to apologize, just looked the other way while she pressed on a cotton pad to my cuts to stop the bleeding. I was trying to find a nail place close by and came here as a walk-in. I had stopped by another place across the street but they were charging more than the norm so I stopped in here. Located in a center in Centreville, next to Giant. Plenty of parking The place had a few other customers but were able to take me right away. The man at the counter asked me to choose my color and a lady sat me at the station. I wanted gel manicure. The lady was gentle and I liked the result of my gel manicure. I had gel manicure previously that needed to come off first. Usually they soak it before attempting to take it off but she started working on one hand before it was soaked. But it wasn't rough so I was fine with it. The gel manicure along with the take off was $30. I went to the nail salon with moderate expectations. I needed an acrylic nail replaced. The shape was short, skinny square. The color was white and it was gel. It was very inexpensive which was good. Only five dollars, and if I had done a twenty percent tip, I would've only had to tip a quarter. Instead I tipped two dollars which is a little less than half my total. I know it seems okay but, it gets bad. Everything was okay until I paid her and looked down realizing that my nail was detached from the acrylic nail, only meeting at the bottom of my finger nail. There is a huge gap in between the two nails. It's so uncomfortable and weird looking. I think it's because the acrylic nail is too small but, it's so disgusting. I went in yesterday for the first time. I moved to Centreville from Arlington a few months ago and have tried three places in this area which have all been bad experiences, ranging from not knowing how to do acrylic/gel nails to bad customer service. I made an appointment with Trish the day before based on the many great things said about her on yelp. I had an appointment at 2:30pm but arrived 15 minutes early as I always do, and I don't mind waiting. She was still with her previous client when 2:30pm hit so her co-worker kindly guided me back to the pedi station to enjoy the massage chairs which were fantastic, and she hung up my jacket. She finally got to me around 2:55pm, but I understand because I work as a hair stylist and you may run behind a bit in the business but it shouldn't be every time. Therefore I don't give myself a time limit at the nail salon. I got a spa pedicure that was amazing from beginning to end, she knew me being a hair stylist I stand on my feet all day so I like a firm massage. She painted my nails all the way to my cuticle and managed to not get any polish on my skin, which I liked of course. Then, we went up front to her station so that she could begin my nails. I was so tense because I'm very picky when it comes to my nails, I had been seeing the same lady for three years, so i was not use to trish's hands and movements. If I would have seen the review I would have never gone, I went for a refill (acrylic nails) and went they were doing it they cut my finger and I had to ask the guy to give me some cotton because I was bleeding and he continued doing my nail, I didn't let him finish it I just pay and left without polish. I didn't want to give this place any stars!!! This place was horrible from the moment I walked in the door. They never greeted me when I walked in, even though I made an appt. Finally someone asked me what I wanted and I told them I was there for a manicure and pedicure. The girl that did my pedicure was mad I think that she had to do my pedicure because it was 12:40 & she had an appt coming in at 1. She was rough and she cut me several times. When I would jump from the pain, she would jerk my toes and give me a hard, evil glare. I asked her to be easy but I don't think she understood me, because she never stopped being rough. Then she told me to go to her station she was doing my nails, I didn't think it would be as bad as the pedicure. I asked her to file them because they were crooked. She loudly said,"Later", so when she said she was almost done I asked her to file my nails a certain way and refused to file them the way I wanted (squared, with rounded edges) because she said it would look ugly. She tosses the nail file at me and says "you do it". I was in shock, then she proceeded to go off in Korean. I said," but I'm paying you to do my nails the way, I like them and you're refusing". She said, "you know more than me so you do it yourself". WHAT?? So I started doing my own nails!!! Needless to say I won't me back. The main reason I wrote this review is because she really hurt my feet. I think they maybe infected. I intend to contact the Better Business Bureau. Please don't go here. read more

I have been here several times because it is close to my house and they allow walk-ins, and this place is pretty bad. I have never had a really good experience here, but my most recent experience caused me to write this review. I went in for a walk-in manicure and pedicure. The owner was asleep at the front desk when I came in around 1pm and I had to wake her up to ask for assistance. Once I sat down in the pedicure chair, my technician spent about 15 minutes telling me I need to try their new organic pedicure. It is $45 as opposed to the regular $25, and right off the bat I said I was not interested this time, and she tried to convince me by telling me how horrible a standard pedicure is because of all the chemicals. She insisted the regular pedicure would irritate my skin and cause me to itch and break-out. Is that not the same pedicure I have always been getting though? I went with the standard pedicure still, and she told me I was making a mistake throughout the majority of my pedicure. I always felt their cleanliness was not up to par, and that was confirmed as the whole time I sat there I noticed NONE of the nail technicians cleaned their pedicure stations between clients. The most I saw from anyone was taking a rag and wiping it dry. NO SANITATION. The tools were very grimy as well. My gel manicure was a more enjoyable experience, with the exception that it started chipping the very next day. I get gel manicures all the time and I have never had my nails chip like this. Very disappointing. Lastly, I decided to get my legs waxed because it was so cheap (normally I go somewhere higher-end like Red Door Spa), and thought I would try it out. Well, I got what I paid for because once I got home there were tons of patches that were missed. It is not worth coming here at all, even if it is right around the corner from me. I would rather drive further and pay more to know the place is CLEAN and cares to do a top-notch job, rather than focusing on up-selling me. read more

For $25 half leg wax - and without an appointment, I thought this was a pretty good deal. It's close to my house, so it's more convenient - especially when one suddenly decides they need to get their legs waxed prior to boarding a flight to Nashville! (Actually, I'm sitting in Dulles airport right now). On the downside, my legs are a little bit patchy still (make sure you look at them thoroughly before leaving - unless you're happy to tweeze later). The other downer is the salon rooms are rather ugly and old looking. The bed kept moving around and squeaking as the lady waxed my legs. Hrm. Salon Mint in Fairfax is still my favorite, but for $10 less, I guess I can't complain too much. Accepts most credit cards (not Amex), and you must tip in cash. read more

The lady was very nice and the establishment was very clean. I went in as walk in and got a manicure with French gel nail polish. My nails were not even and were filed at an angle. I politely had to tell her many times that they were slanted. I ended up having to ask for the nail file to fix a couple nails that would have looked really funny once painted. She did the right hand French tip slowly and showed me and it looked great, then the other hand she did quickly and put my hand under the UV light. I didn't get to see the left-hand until it was fully dry and it was sloppy. I would say it was a B- manicure. Today I decided to try this establishment and see if I would be as happy as my family member who comes here once a month. I had gel nail polish on my nails when I arrived and requested a regular manicure to give my nails a break. The initial technician (I think he was a tech b/c he told me he was going to get me started until his sister came) used a power file to remove the polish - not consistent with nail health. Then the person who actually was on deck to do my nails arrived. I requested a French manicure. After the previous guy stripped away parts of my nail, Vee proceeded to apply the white nail color w/o even trying to apply at least a base coat. Plus, there are little remnants of the previous color on my nail that she painted over in clear. My nails now feel bumpy and uneven, have all kinds of striations, and looks pretty sloppy. Given how late she was in arriving, I did not have time to have these basic items fixed. I am not pleased at all and am extremely disappointed. read more

The lady was rude because she had to restart because she thought I asked for a regular mani but I asked for acrylic. She kept giving me mean looks and aggressively grabbing my hand.
