One of the reasons we accepted their services was because they told us they had Spanish-speaking staff, but not a single person spoke Spanish. During one of the most difficult moments of our lives, communication was extremely hard and stressful because no one could properly communicate with our family in our language. We were never properly instructed on how to administer my husband's medications, leaving me confused and unsupported during an extremely emotional and painful time. The nursing care was poor. Many times, if we did not specifically ask for vital signs to be checked, they would not do it. The hospital bed they brought looked old, worn out, and dirty. There was very little communication and absolutely no compassion. The most painful part was after my husband passed away. Paul died at 7:51 PM, and hospice staff did not arrive until 10:44 PM. They then documented his death as 10:44 PM, which was simply the time they finally arrived. They appeared rushed and eager to leave instead of supporting the family during such a devastating moment. To make things worse, after my husband died on Sunday, a nurse still showed up on Tuesday as if she was coming to bathe him. That alone shows the lack of communication and professionalism within this company. This experience added unnecessary pain and stress to my family during one of the hardest moments of our lives. I would not recommend this hospice service.

My Mom had Alzheimer's for the last 5 years of her life. We're at the point now that my Husband & I are considered the sandwich generation. We have older children that are not quite on their own yet & aging parents that need assistance sometimes. My Mom was diagnosed with Alzheimer's when she was 75 years old. Each day was different & had different challenges. Some days she was great & others she needed help eating. The care she required was more than my Dad was physically able to administer. We found an adult apartment in Sugar Land for my parents. They both moved in with the belief my Dad would just need to hit a button when he needed help with my Mom. Unfortunately they were only in Landon Ridge for 6 days. My Dad was frustrated with the response time & left the facility after only 4 days. We decided my house was the best option. We brought in several home healthcare providers to evaluate my Mom. They all agreed that Pallative Care was required. I had zero experience with pallative care prior to my Mom. And when the bath aids left us some adult diapers & wet wipes I was ecstatic. Less things for us to buy later. My Dad was never thrilled with the Chaplins that came over and although we were not in denial discussing EOL was not our favorite topic. Discussing funeral arrangements and our faith with strangers was very uncomfortable and I quickly eliminated that part of Mom's treatment. I was getting frustrated because my Mom has a pressure ulcer on her heal & we needed wound care twice a week. I finally called the offices of the provider & asked that a care coordinator come by to discuss our situation. We went through 4 different palliative care providers before finding Fremont. The turnover in the industry is horrible. Just when you get a great nurse or care team, they leave or change companies. When Fremont was recommended I am sorry to say that I literally grilled them. I wanted details about the wound care, the care team, & what would & would not be provided. The Director at Fremont was so thorough & caring. She seemed to really care not just about my Mom but about my Dad & I being happy clients too. They even hired a bath aid we were previously using so we could continue with some kind faces that we were building relationships with. I can honestly say that Fremont took a lot of stress off of a very stressful situation and we highly recommend them. I pray others don't have to go through the bumps we did and just start off with Fremont.

The Nurses take forever to come and assist the patients in the rooms when the Red Alert Button has been pushed. The patients with dementia are not able to advocate for themselves unfortunately. Therefore, the patients do not get taken to use the restroom often, so they wet themselves. The wheelchair bound patients end up getting sores on their behinds because they are not moved often/ ignored. Many elderly patients fall down while staying here due to poor negligence. Case Managers do not respond back to phone calls in a timely fashion. You have to keep calling and hunting them down. Medications are not given properly to patients. Encompass will try to push patients out of their facility promptly even if patients are not capable (still have 10/10 pain, cannot walk/ move at all or without assistance, etc). Our family has been very dissatisfied and disgusted with the lack of care and service from this facility.

Our patient was rushed to the hospital with severe rectal ulcers that burst from lack of hygiene and care. Often allowed to lay in soiled linens for hours. Food was terrible, cold, and requests ignored. Only got PT a few days a week (in place of daily) and refusal to get patient out of bed. AWFUL. A few of the staff are OK. It's evil to claim this place is faith based.

I visited this hospital twice while my friend was recovering from surgery. It happened to be during…read morethe World Cup, so there were some fun football-themed decorations throughout the facility. The check in process was straightforward. Visitors sign in at the front desk, receive a visitor sticker, and then take the elevator to the appropriate floor. The facility appeared clean and well maintained. Like most hospitals, there was a constant beeping of medical equipment, which is to be expected. My friend's room was comfortable, with a private bathroom, and her assigned nurse checked on her regularly. I also appreciated the whiteboard in the room listing the nurse, doctor, and other important information. One thing I wish they had was a water fountain or water bottle filling station on each floor for visitors. It would also be helpful if patient rooms had a small refrigerator for storing leftovers or cold drinks. The biggest disappointment was how my friend's food allergy was handled. She has a documented allergy to green beans, and it was clearly noted in her medical chart and communicated to the nursing staff. Despite this, the kitchen repeatedly served her green beans during her week-long stay. That was both concerning and frustrating. Since she was recovering from surgery and had limited mobility, I had to notify the nurse each time so the meal could be replaced. While the staff corrected the mistake, it should not have happened repeatedly. Food allergies should be taken seriously in a hospital setting, and I hope they improve communication between the kitchen and the medical staff to prevent this from happening to future patients. Overall, the facility and staff were good, but better attention to dietary restrictions would make a significant difference.

Best place for my Mom We moved my mom in more than 2 years…read moreago right after the place opened. She came from another assisted living that was part of a big chain and was horrible. This place brand new and is really bright and beautiful, the food is way better than others. It was about the same price as others. Everyone seemed friendly and the best thing was the owners were there every day . Originally she had a really nice little one bed apartment on the AL side. But then dementia started to take hold so she was moved to the memory care. They keep more of an eye on them in memory care I slept better at night knowing she was in this place, it was really nice, extremely secure,clean and above all she was happy there. Which really made me happy because she absolutely hated the one she was in before. My mom passed away last week and I couldn't believe how many people from this place called or texted me to give condolences. They really care. i thank them all for taking care of my mom
