4.5 stars Ordered the fried whiting, jerk chicken, Mac and cheese, collard greens, rice, candied yams and fried wingettes. Really wanted the oxtails but they were sold out. We were pleasantly surprised at how delicious everything was. The -0.5 star was for the Mac and cheese which was too salty and too mushy. The fish was fantastic as well as the collard greens. I could not believe how much I loved the candied yams. Sweets are normally not my thing but the yams were cinnamony and so good. Great portions too! We will definitely be back.

Soul food snob here who cooks soul food. Wanted a good meal while visiting from Los Angeles, the restaurant was Clean, great counter service and the food was hot, fresh and seasoned. The greens, fish, wings and yams deserve a featured mention. Three generations of soul food cooks were very happy.

The staff was nice, highly attentive and polite. I ordered the BBQ chicken platter with candied yams. The yams were pretty good, the chicken was just baked chicken with warmed up bbq sauce spread over it. The potato salad was among the worst I've ever had, something I couldn't even finish. Happy to support a local family owned business. But I didn't love this meal.

Absolutely the best soul food/carribean food in New Jersey. This place is a hidden gem. The sign is small so you might miss it. Jerk empananda is extremely tasty, a must try. Jerk shrimp seasoned perfect. Honey Jerk wings delicious. Candy yams very good. Patrick is very courteous and makes you feel welcomed.

Been to the Bound Brook one several times but decided to hit up this one because it was on my way. The place is nothing fancy but could use a little TLC. The dining area was neat and clean but from there to my journey to the bathroom was a off-putting. I almost had to question everything. BUT the food is ALWAYS delicious and seasoned to perfection so I stuck with it. The staff was at the ready and pleasant. I was going to comment on how efficient they were until I got home and realized there was a mistake on my order. I wanted a 3 pc Whiting with Yams & Collard Greens. I must have repeated the order 3 times from beginning to end to two of the different workers and STILL they got it wrong. I even commented how heavy the bag was after he packed up my order. No wonder. That Mac & Cheese weighed a ton. I really wanted the greens.

Delicious spicy moist and tender jerk chicken, peppery and tender greens, decadent Mac and cheese, and the most comforting candied yams I've ever had. Friendly people, good cookin. Love it! Will definitely be back.

My 5 star rating is for the food and customer service ONLY! The location and condition of the restaurant is not the greatest but the food totally makes up for it! Ok so let me testify real quick... THE FOOD HERE IS BLESSED! I was born and raised on southern cooking so trust me on this one ok??! You will not find any soul food better than this! I'm a huge critic when it comes to southern cooking because I naturally compare it to what I was raised on. I've been struggling to find a soul food place that I love but my search is officially over. I stumbled across Amazing Taste while out shopping for furniture and I am so happy I did. I was a little hesitant to go inside because the outside was not appealing to me. But as soon as I walked in, I knew I was at the right place. 1. The girl at the desk was warm and inviting and made me feel like I was at home! 2. I saw the pots that they were cooking in and my heart skipped a beat! If you know, YOU KNOW.... I decided on the catfish, string beans, Mac and cheese and yams! Everything was absolutely delicious! The crispy fried catfish and string beans were seasoned well, the baked macaroni and cheese was cooked perfectly and full of cheese, the candied yams?? DELECTABLE!! The cornbread was good but not hot at all. I honestly did not care about that! The sweet tea wasn't favorite but I didn't care about that either!! The portions here are HUGE! My daughter and I shared one meal and we were stuffed for the entire day! Did I mention that we ate the food in the car?? We opened the containers to take a peek as I was backing out, then I pulled right back into the parking spot and ate right there! Judge yourself, not me! For now the restaurant is take out only. It's somewhat of a greasy spoon so I don't think I would eat inside anyway. They offer catering which is definitely a good thing because the food is out of this world good! Amazing Taste is a little on the pricey side but it's worth every single penny that they ask for! This is a perfect example of not judging a book by its cover! EAT HERE... I've done a review on this establishment before, but today's experience warrants an update. While I love the food at Amazing taste and have previously referenced it as my new go-to Soul Food Spot, that has changed, I am currently in need of a new Soul-food spot. While I don't proclaim to be the healthiest eater, I do love my food to be well seasoned, yet not over seasoned. Today I ordered a Fish Sandwich and Fried Shrimp. Although I felt that both were too salty, it literally felt as though I laid my head back and allowed someone to pour the Diamond Crystal Salt directly in my mouth; this was how it felt eating my shrimp. My love for shrimp is endless and I always devour any shrimp dish that is placed in front of me, however, today I just couldn't do it. There was literally so much salt that I had to toss the shrimp, in addition they were missing the crunch factor. Now you may be saying, Maybe they were just having a bad day, And I can understand if that was the case, but the last time I placed and ordered the fish, it was too salty as well. So in conclusion I have decided to find a new spot for take-out fried Shrimp & Fish or just stop being so lazy and cook it myself; after all, at the price of food nowadays I can't afford to be paying for something and then throwing it away because it's inedible, I would have gone back & complained but I didn't try it until I got to work. Such a disappointment! Addendum: I felt bad for a minute after reading the owners reply, but then thought to myself, "Is it really bad to give an unfavorable review?" & Should I as an Elite Yelper, should have reach out to the establishment? Then I began reading the reviews of others and the owners comments as well, that's when I concluded, I don't work for the establishment, my reviews are honest and this wasn't my first experience with the food being too salty as I stated earlier in my review. The purpose of reviews is to give feedback when things are good as well as bad. This allows business to get a pulse of what the customers are saying and how they can better improve their businesses. I've read other reviews where there were complaints of the food being too salty. So with that, I stand by my review and wish Amazing Taste nothing but growth & success. While I continuously strive to support Black Businesses, I will be nothing but honest when I review them, good, bad or indifferent.

Wow. Amazing Taste. What can I say about this place. I like to try new things. New places to support businesses in my area. Well I don't know if I can support this one. There are a lot of things I wish could change about this place. 1. Most important- The Food. I order the Jerk Chicken because I was carving Jamaican food. And all the Jamaican food places were closed. So I try this place. Well the jerk chicken didn't looked like jerk chicken. As you can see the picture. The mac & cheese had no flavor. It was just greasy. It taste like it was in the fridge for some time and they just reheated it and sold it. Smh. The yams were decent and the cornbread was ok. Nothing to run home about. 2. Their containers are HORRIBLE! All the juice from the food spilled out in the bag. So now the utensils are sticky and the container is sticky. As you can see in the picture. So over all I didn't have a good experience. So I personally would not recommend this place.

We dined in but there were a lot of to go orders. The phone was ringing non stop, and to me that's a pretty good indicator that the food here is good. staff was friendly as well. They knew my friend and her order even though she wasn't quite a regular at the restaurant. Additionally, the guy up front was also nice and made small talk.. very good quality to have for customer service! If you had to choose one side, Mac and cheese is the way to go. As for the entree I went with the jerk chicken and it came with 3 legs (small) and two slices of corn bread along with the two sides you chose. It's all very flavorful and tender. Had a nice kick to it but it wasn't the hot kind of spicy. Wrapped it up with banana pudding for dessert. Yum! There were also mirror decorations on the walls. Hint hint for all you out there that want to see your reflection before/after a meal.

Okay so the Mac and cheese and collard greens was my favorite part but they score would be a 5/10 . The fish taste like it was still underneath the sea . It was like 19.19 for the meal and it was not worth the price ! Really worth $12. Mac and cheese taste like all they put in it was salt and pepper . Maybe the collard greens was my favorite but it was not tasting how I thought. And all you people that's giving this place 5 stars should be ashamed, I tried to read the comments before I came but majority said it was good ! And that was a damn lie but i don't know how the other meals taste but the catfish platter I don't recommend anybody to get it !
