I used to go to this store all the time. I went in today to grab something for lunch. I stood at the deli counter for quite awhile. The people working behind the counter never did come to help me. Then when I went to check out in the front, the guy working the register said something so fast I couldn't understand what he said. I said I am sorry, I didn't understand you. Opening day we checked it out. Appears we will be returning. I remembered walking into Whole Foods once it wasn't for me never returned. Sprouts only for fruits cause lead cashier was a total b. This store gives you a good vibe and it does look like a traditional grocery store but smaller in some ways. Day 2, walked in to try coffee and pastry. The phone can't be used automatic entry is down so I asked her if I can still pay showed her my phone. She said "Yes". After brewing the Americano a.k.a "Coffee" it was not for my taste. I had employee throw it away. I grab my croissant and headed to cashier. Well, nope I can't pay with phone app. So I simply left my 1 croissant with them the cashier's (2) didn't know what to do. I was never impressed with their prices or selection of items at the Amazon store. The thing that I did like was the salad bar and their soups. Approximately a month ago I had gotten a medium sized container from the salad bar. At checkout, you would weigh the container and pay according to its weight. It would range in the 7 to 8 dollar range. Now there are only 2 sizes, small or large. The large is what medium used to be. I was shocked when it range up at 15 dollars! It is no longer based on its weight, just a flat rate. I can get a very good salad in the same shopping center at Chick-fil-a for just over 10 dollars. Arguing from the door guy when asking to help remove the trash from the cart.. my hands are full, first cart available, acting like there's something wrong with me for not doing his job. It's the guy that looks like Johnny Depp. Then the cashier got me walking all over just to find out the wrong information. How does the guy filling to go order not know if there's breaded eggplant in the freezer or try to look it up? Still can't get a favorite list online. Wouldn't they want to know what people plan on getting at payday? Moving items in and out of the cart online is not fast and easy... Extremely extremely extremely frustrating shopping experience but it's the only one giving free delivery so I have no choice. So freaking bad. read more

Came here during their grand opening week and it was busy! I got the rotisserie chicken for $4.97 which is a good price but the chicken itself was smaller the Costco's. However, the chicken was seasoned well and was very tender! I also got the French baguettes for 89¢ and it was good too! The store is organized but the pricing is on the expensive side. read more

Loved the fresh delicold cuts by Deitz n Watson andvery low prices. Deitz and Waton is upthere with Boar Head provisions. Roast beef rare and excellent, Roasted Turkey awesome. HOWEVER, when a customer orders Proscuitto its supposed to be slice paper thin, not the thickness of a dime! Other stuff in store looked like normal prices nothing special. Meat like hamburger pattie, chicken in cases, jut didnt look fresh. Employees were very friendly. I will only come back for cold cuts, you should do the same. To store manager, suggest to your merchandisers Nathans hot dogs with skin like they are sold in NY and NJ. Every upermarket out here has skinless, its not the real deal. Also suggest Sabrett with skin as they pop Real push cart dogs. read more

I am done with Amazon Fresh. I enjoyed it in the beginning, but too many negative things continue to happen. The final straw was Monday with Denise at the register. She was unbelievably rude when I asked some questions. It felt like I was bothering her and irritating her, by asking what I thought, were some pretty standard questions. At one point, she dismissively and abruptly said to me "oh honey I dont know!" Its 2024, you shouldn't be "oh honey'ing" anyone. She also scolded me for not letting her know a head of time, I had a gift card. When my gift card didn't go through, she yelled "that declined "..... she didn't offer assistance in using it at all. I ended up putting it away because it seems like it was too difficult for her to deal with. When I let her know I was put off by her attitude and lack of help, with everything, she decided to handle the situation by polling the other customers line and asked them if they thought she was being unhelpful. Is this how you want your employees to handle an upset customer? Polling other people in line? At no point did she try and save the interaction or offer help or try to explain herself. This employee should not be upfront representing your business. Overall though, this is the second interaction we've had with an employee that was uncomfortable and rude. Many times I cant find what I'm looking for, product availability is not consistent. Most of the time the Amazon shoppers are blocking the aisle. They do not move for you and I find myself just skipping aisles because they are blocked by the shoppers. The food in the deli department gets put away super early, so don't count on soup for dinner. What's up with that? When I left here on Monday I went over to Sprouts, got the missing items I needed and had the best customer service! I also used my gift card, no problem with a very nice helpful cashier. It was nice while it lasted but I'm over this Amazon Fresh store. Too many sad sad things happening read more

I wanted to wait a few months before I posted a review of this establishment. Now that it's been open for a while I can give a fair review, as I've shopped here 5 or 6 times. First thing... you do NOT need the app to enter or buy anything. This was a BIG point of confusion and contention; as there are 4 small gates (of which u need to enter thru one of them) to get into the store. Three of the four (the larger and more visible ones) are for app holders and the fourth (small one which is alwAys hidden behind some flag is for cash/credit card shoppers like myself. I have to call that out. It's B.S. They reeeeally want people to use the app but screw that! I embrace most technology, but not when I'm buying my captain crunch. Once past that obstacle, A-FRESH is not so bad. It's very clean, easy to navigate/find stuff and they have as much selection as anyone else. I found the staff reasonably helpful and pleasant. The produce, deli and bakery are all above average but the deli choices are limited. Surprisingly they have really excellent fresh sushi which was better than expected. I've purchased that on two occasions now and will probably continue to do so. As far as pricing,,,, I'm thoroughly befuddled. Certain items (maybe 25% of the store) are priced "right on the money". And there are some items (about 10% of the store) that are decent deals, but that leaves the other 65% which is freaking jacked. There are some items which are almost double the cost here, as compared to stores like Target, Stater Bros, Vons, etc... which themselves are high priced. I agree with some of the other reviews, and would suggest using Amazon Fresh as a second or third alternative to one's "regular" or "go to" market. read more

There are many reasons that I will not shop at the Amazon Fresh store ever again. I should have listened to others but I had to go check it out for myself. Plus, I had a coupon. The store was fairly busy when I went. There were a lot of store associates roaming the aisles with large rolling carts (presumably filling orders). The carts take up a lot of space and it was annoying to try and maneuver around them in the narrow aisles and reach over and around them to get to items on the shelves. The selection of goods was less than my grocery store and the prices didn't seem to be any lower. I didn't do an exact price compare but my feeling was that I wasn't getting any bargains. In fact, I went on Prime Day thinking that I would get some deals and I only saved 80 cents! They didn't have everything that was on my list and many of the shelves were half bare. Their produce looked ok. I got some strawberries that were very good. Their meat department was sparse. I was looking for a plain, unseasoned pork roast but they didn't have any. I thought their selection of beer left something to be desired and prices were definitely the same as my grocery store. Now for the part that really made me give it one star. I checked in and out using the Amazon app on my phone. I asked numerous times how to use my coupon and I was told just to scan it upon exiting. When I got to the exit, I again asked the store associate what to do with my coupon. He took the coupon, scanned it and then asked my to scan my app. He said I would be getting my receipt in an email later on. It took over 24 hours to get my receipt, which I think is ridiculous! When I finally did get my receipt, I found that they had charged me for something I didn't buy. That was quickly rectified online. I also noticed that they did not apply my coupon!!! I talked to customer service and the person (who was actually rude) said that I would get an email regarding "my case" within 24 hours. Of course 24 hours came and went and I received no email. I talked to customer service again and was told that the first person never filed the report. This person seemed helpful and even tried to get me an instant credit to my Amazon account but for some reason she was unable to do that. So she told me that I would be getting an email within 24 hours. It's now past 24 hours and still no email. I'm so annoyed that I will have to waste my time yet again dealing with customer service. Save yourself a lot of grief and don't shop here, even if you have a coupon. read more

It's just like a normal supermarket. Nothing special. Arguably less than a normal because supermarkets these days will carry some off brand stuff. This Amazon Fresh does not. I tried a slice of their pizza and it's mediocre at best. Only cool thing was they'll throw it back in the oven and give it to you really hot. Also tried their hot servings-the Indian food. It's honestly a steal as it's a flat rate based off the box size you grab so you can cram a ton of food in a box. The food's ok. read more

I'm reviewing the prime deliveries. Honestly I don't know why anyone in their right mind would *go* there to shop. The prices are not competitive for in store, I used my gas and time to get everything, shopping. That said, every delivery from there has gone well. When Amazon delivered from Irvine each box of eggs had a cracked egg, vegetables were starting to rot, the wrong items were sent, etc.. Sure refunds were made, but you could never plan. So far everything delivered from HB has been ok. Not cheap, but at least it is correct and not on the verge of spoiling. Why 3 stars? Because of the prices. With "free" delivery, they're ok prices. For me to go get it? Nope. I'll go over to Costco and get some imported products for those prices or equivalent brands for 25-50% less. read more

The store is poorly stocked. There are open spaces on all the shelves. It is more expensive than the stater Brothers right across the street. The staff can't be bothered to help. I waited for 10 minutes for someone to come and get a bottle of distilled water off the top shelf after asking a cashier for help and no one showed up. I walked over to stater Brothers picked one up off the right shelf and paid less for it. read more

Amazon Fresh weekly circulars are often ignored because we are daunted by the new technology. We are Technology challenged. But our curiosity was strong and it's time to explore and learn. Plenty of parking and a couple of EV charge stations. We picked up a green shopping cart and as we enter we were greeted by a very informative greeter. He put us at ease and showed that my phone already has the Amazon Prime app and that I can use it now...a store code popped up and we can scan that as we go in. We also learned that you can either use the green cart or the orange ones. He gave us good advice on how the process works. No need to scan...just place the product in the brown paper shopping bag. The Amazon Fresh system records via high intelligence every move you make....all the plusses and minuses. Last thing he said was.. take it easy cause the handles on the paper bags may fail. First impressions...Clean, Fresh, colorful fruits, wide aisles with directional signage, organized and everything in its place. But where are the shoppers? This big Amazon Fresh store doesn't seem to draw any crowds. We see lots of young generation, kids if you will, going back and forth filling bags and carts. They are the shoppers and friendly too. They helped us find things as they fill online orders. Time to checkout. Should we use the only checker and place everything out of the bags and carts? She comes over and showed us how to go thru by scanning that store code on the phone and that is it. Wow, that is too easy..but where is the receipt? The greeter informs that we will be notified. Ok then and yup one of the brown paper bags failed a handle. But we are now so much more tech savvy. We can do Amazon Fresh again without angst. The receipt was finally posted and what?..I got charged for three paper bags but only came home with two. Lessons learned. read more

Went in on opening day to primarily order a pizza and that is what this review is for. Checked out the store while I was there. Nicely displayed and new but really nothing special. One large end cap had nothing but Heinz Ketchup which struck me as strange. Expensive location for ketchup! Lots of other folks checking it out just like me. Got to the pizza counter and told the lady I wanted a whole pizza and asked how long. 40 minutes she responded. Haha. The pizza area wasn't busy. How on earth can it take 40 minutes to make a pizza? Off to What a Lot of Pizza. 10 minutes later I had a great pizza for under $10.00 Really, opening day they should have had plenty of pizzas in the cue and have been on point with their service. 40 minutes.... I went to this store twice. I used the amazon coupon and my app and didn't know my total as I checked out. I did not receive my receipt until the next day. There starts the trouble. Both my visits were combined to one transaction. Unfortunately it's wrong and I had to contact support. They tried to sort it out and said they will contact me in 48 hours. 1 week goes by and nothing. Contacted them again and had to explain my problem to them all over again and was told to wait another 48 hours. Horrible experience. Issue still unresolved. If you have been to other amazon fresh stores, this one is no better. The one in Irvine has a cart and tells you the amount as you put stuff into the amazon cart or remove stuff. It has a running total and way better at check out process of you use their app. read more

Decided to visit Amazon fresh after receiving a coupon in the mail for $20 off a purchase of $50 or more. My first time here will be my last. I scanned my Amazon app and walked through. The initial awe of this new technology wore off quickly when I ran into numerous issues during my visit. My goal for this visit was to hit the $50 threshold to redeem my coupon. Yes, when you visit a traditional grocery store it's up to you to keep track of how much you're spending so it is no surprise when you reach the register. You'd think that the store watching your every move would have the ability to give you the see the running total either through the app or with a visual display on your cart. I guess I just had high hopes. When I wanted to ask customer service if such a feature exists, I stood in line behind one person. After they were helped and left I stood there as I watched the person behind the counter do tasks for 5 minutes before they asked, "Have you been helped?" No, I hadn't been helped and I don't think I could've been any more obvious that I was in line-standing behind the person being helped in front of me, inching up to the counter when they left, and looking directly at the worker while they were doing other tasks. The workers were a large part of the reason behind my one star review. It seems like all of them hated their life and lacked situational awareness. After the customer service desk experience, I went to get a pizza at the counter and had to wait 10 minutes before the worker appeared. There was a fellow coworker looking to get food in front of me and I have no idea how long they were waiting before I joined the line. The worker that eventually appeared was unapologetic and monotone. When they grabbed my pizza they rubbed it on the inner part of the dirty counter (my picture attached). You'd think that this would be a super efficient grocery store. That was not the case for me and I will not be back. P.S. it's been an hour since my visit and I still haven't received my receipt. read more

What a yawner this place is. I wondered if it was just me so I searched Yelp Amazon Fresh reviews around LA to see if others were in love with this setup. Turns out the reviews aren't too great anywhere. The process was a little confusing checking in with your app but over time I'm sure that becomes old hat. But the "fresh" in Amazon Fresh is a bit oversold. The vegetables and fruits looked like anything you get any time from Vons or Ralph's. The selection was absolutely terrible. Very limited options compared to full service grocery stores. And three hours before you get your grocery receipt? Why can't you show me the bill when I'm leaving? I'm supposed to just trust you? What if I'm overcharged? A new hassle then to deal with long after I've left the store? I think they figure you will just give up and not bother to address problems later. I thought Amazon took pride in being a techy company. But they can't even give you a receipt? Maybe these are just growing pains. I did some price checking as some friends who went to other stores said Amazon Fresh was high priced and you paid for the "convenience". I found mostly very good prices. Lower than I would have paid at Vons or Stater Bros on many items we buy regularly like bread, bagels, pickles, some meats, etc. a couple of items they were higher on (miracle whip, bottled water). But it wasn't gouging level. The introductory coupons they mailed out worked out well. I just wonder, in light of my friends' comments about them being high priced, if once they've been around awhile if they won't raise their prices. Is this the honeymoon phase? Like a large 7 Eleven. Pros- IF you know how to use your app, you can run in to grab an item and run out without having to wait in line. That's IF you know how to use the app, IF you know where the item is you are looking for, and IF they have it in stock. Returns are also processed here if you make a return from an online purchase . Cons - the employees seem to mean well and are nice but do not seem to know where anything is. I've been referred to the Alexa in the store a few times since they were unsure. I also overheard the man at the meat counter tell someone that he knew nothing about meat so couldn't answer questions about the products. There are always large carts in the middle of the aisles and no one seems to notice the customers. One last thing I will add is that they carry food that isn't "fresh" as their name implies and there selection is limited . I'd much rather go to the sprouts across the street unless I need just one item that isn't offered there. read more

I shop at this Amazon Fresh location fairly often and I'm happy they finally have the new smart carts, it makes shopping super easy, fast and convenient! They generally have a good selection of most items and if they don't have what I need, I'll just finish my shopping with online delivery. Most of the time the employee's are friendly and helpful. I'll admit I've had a couple of negative experiences shopping here, but the good wins over the bad. They have some of the most beautiful produce I have ever seen in a grocery store! Also, they honor coupons and Amazon has some really great coupon deals! I also really love their deli and bakery departments. There's always available parking and it's always clean, and inside the store is impeccable! You may want to wear a sweater if you have a tendency to be cold (like I do), they keep it at a very cool temperature to keep everything fresh! After all, they are called Amazon Fresh! I used to drive to the Signal Hill location, but this Huntington Beach location has won me over and is now my favorite! I highly recommend this Amazon Fresh! read more

The concept was pretty cool and very advanced, but I don't know if I'll come back. Before you enter the store, you have to log onto your Amazon account to get your QR code to scan through the entrance with your cart. You also use the same code to scan when you're ready to check out and leave the store. Checking out is pretty cool, you just scan your code and exit the store, you don't need a cashier to scan all your items. I felt like everything was way overpriced. You can get the same stuff across the street or at target for a better price. read more

I decided to check out this Amazon Fresh location because of the coupons that were mailed out. Upon entering the store, it was obvious that they have a staffing shortage. The deli/hot food sections were closed which was disappointing as I wanted to try the brisket sandwich. The only options available were the salad bar, pizza and sushi areas. Had it not been for the coupons, I would not go back as the prices are higher than other grocery stores. The "Just Walk Out" technology is pretty cool but just remember to scan your coupons before walking out. The store can't adjust the price difference without a receipt which from my experience, doesn't show up in your Amazon account until hours later. read more

Visited the new Amazon Fresh yesterday just for a quick visit and to pick up a few items for dinner. The experience was seamless and easy. I scanned my phone to enter and to exit. My receipt came the next day. It's pretty comparable to a Whole Foods but just less warmth. The prices are about the same too. The beer selection could be better, but overall it has most everything. A very strange grocery store, hardly any customers isles usually employees filling online orders. Bakery are fresh they day they bake it good luck. Food court dried out cause sits there since patron traffic is very limited. There are great finds throughout but you really have to walk and look to see what's reasonable price. Overall everything is expensive. Bananas are no longer ¢.15each. they are now ¢.99 each. They do have an occasional prime member discount that's when they get packed. Discount of $40 dollars.
