This dystopian nightmare is the sorriest excuse for a grocery store that I've ever personally witnessed. The adolescent staff is overtly rude, disinterested and downright stupid. The items they sell are very limited in variety and they change pricing sometimes within the same day because they can! The digital price tags are controlled centrally and so they will manipulate them on a whim. Hence my description of dystopian nightmare. Awful. read more

Where do I even start with this store? First thing you notice is there are no customers here. You go across the street and Sprouts is full of customers. Parking lot is always empty like a sad dystopia. Store is kept clean and everything looks sparkling new, so what's wrong with this store? Then you shop here all alone in this giant creepy store while about 5 employees seem to stare at you. They look busy stocking stuff endlessly for no customers. You are forced to scan your credit card to enter and the terminal you pick is always the one that doesn't work. Broken already? You just opened months ago. Then you listen as you hear the employees talking bad about the customers. Then you think what customers. No wonder no one wants to shop here. It's creepy shopping here. You decide to go to the cashier to finally see some human interaction. Big mistake! The cashier turns out to be the rudest person in the store. She's blond and she acts like she hates her job and why am I forcing her to do work. She's rude and you just want to get the hell out of this creepy store and go across the street to shop at a real store with real people who don't don't make you feel bad for shopping for groceries. I'd rather shop at Ralph's or Sprouts for my groceries. This was the most impersonal weird take on shopping I've ever experienced. The people who work the cashiers should learn to smile and not be so rude. God forbid you have to have a human interaction once in a while. Happy Yelping and don't shop here it's creepy. Store is clean and never crowded. Prices can be hit and miss. Their sushi and sourdough bread are the best! Almond croissant for 1.99!

There are so many bad reviews that are completely unjustified, I can only assume they're posted by competitors. Ignore those bad reviews and go and see for yourself. There is no puke in the car park, the staff are very competent and helpful and the produce is top notch. You can also "ask Alexa" at any of the many stations positioned in the store so saying nobody can help you find things is not true. The other criticism about so many associates in the store - well they're doing your online shopping for you and fulfilling your online orders. And the other criticism about "if you know how to use the app" is also unhelpful and not accurate - all you need to do is scan the in store code when you enter and scan it again when you leave. Not difficult at all. You get the receipt sent to you and if there are any issues you just have to respond (electronically) and ask for it to be adjusted. Excellent experience. read more

These pieces of shit messed up my order and refused to deliver twice! I just retired and have several new diagnosed diseases that make me not able to physically function well. So it is why I ordered grocery delivery from them. One time the driver didn't want to do his job so he dropped it off at a random apartment that wasn't even in my complex. I DO tip, but I noticed when the tip isn't enough for them in their heads they do spiteful shit like this. If you hate your job and aren't earning enough from a CORPORATION time to move it along and not take it out on customers who can't tip 50 dollars. Which I know is what you ******* expect. Another time, they refused to even deliver to me, can you believe that? But as soon as i put an insanely high tip to test them, it was done and delivered immediately. This isn't fair, I already tip but you're entitled and take it on the wrong people. Never again, no respect. read more

Where to start... 1) Employees at the Meat section aren't available (last time when I was there, they were in a back room, then came out with food in their mouths and kept on chatting even people were standing at a counter) and not willing to help 2) Even the app shows its available, when you get there, it's out of stock. Have you heard a term, bait and switch? 3) Almost all the prime sales that you see on an advertising paper are out of stock or they don't bother restocking. It appears that they show very limited items on a paper anyways so people will need to buy something else with higher price. 4) Associates don't even know what they carry. I asked them if they carry a ginger, she just pointed and said "it must be somewhere there". Not to be found and they don't even carry at the first place. Just super Rude. 5) Over crowding isles with larger carts for delivery or pick up, as those employees are the priority and no one else. They do not even move because you don't exist. 6) If you are doing self check out by scanning your QR code, make sure to check the final receipt because I got overcharged for an extra item. 7) To use coupon, say over $40 get $20 disc, you need to use your calculator while you are shopping because there's nothing helping you to know the total of what you have in a cart. It fees that this place is a holding store for an amazon fresh delivery, not to actually go shopping. Shoppers who goes in are just additional money for the store, not the main income. That's why they aren't trained well for customer services and employees don't care about the actual shoppers who goes in to the shop. It was super disappointing for all those above reasons and was waste of my time. read more

AVOID at all cost. I been to quite a few Amazon Fresh and this one by far is the worst one. The store is beautiful just like the other ones but people here is the reason why I say is the worst one of all, and if possible, I would have rated them 0 or no stars. Customer service is the key to success in retail and no wonder so many people now resort to online shopping. I think the employees here lost touch with that concept. To be fair I stopped by during their grand opening of sorts and it was a mess. From pizza counter to the cashiers. To give some context, I waited for pizza for 40 minutes cause they burnt it every time, 20 minutes for rotisserie chicken, and 15 minutes at checkout. And now is where the drama started. So after spending close to 2 hrs in the store, the cashier overcharged me at the register. He couldn't fix it there so a nice lady escorted us to the customer service area. From there we met a young lady, which I won't include her name, and all I can say, she was the pod lead or some type supervisor. She was nice at first but then she tried to understand and replicate what the cashier did. Basically the cashier charged me 3 orange juices. I told her even the cashier admitted it but he couldn't change it at the register which is why he told us to come here. Upfront the lead told us that she will just void the whole transaction and ring everything back up. Of course we weren't as delighted but comply since we are just tired of waiting and now our kids were getting antsy. After ringing everything up, she told us that we couldn't pack our groceries. We asked why and that's when the stupidity started. She wanted to duplicate what the cashier did. Now we are going on to 3 hrs in the store with kids in tow and she now wants to conduct research. Like really. I told her you can keep the receipt and do it on your own time. Also she was the typical one sitting behind the counter giggling and laughing with another coworker while the store was in chaos. I told her this is ridiculous. Then right away she stop everything she was doing and dropped her iPhone cause she was using the calculator on the phone. She right away said I can't help you. I said why? She said I was a angry customer. I was like what? This continue on and to my disbelief this is happening. She had to page a manager. She just all of a sudden had this attitude. She could care less at this point in time of how long we been here and so forth. Once the manager came she asked us what's wrong. The thin skin lead, told her what's going on but I had to jump in and tell her apparently you were summon because I am a angry customer because I asked if we can put away our groceries. After doodling for another 15 minutes, the mgr came back and told me the thin skin lead was trying to replicate the transaction and provide the partial refund. From there I was scratching my head. She told me she was going to void the whole transaction, which is why we unpacked and brought all our groceries back on the counter. The mgr fiddle for a few more minutes and finally asked if she can do a partial refund. The lead told her no. I was like so what was this whole exercise for? To waste another 45 minutes of my time? The mgr apologized but not a single moment did the thin skin lead ever said anything. She just went about her day laughing and giggling with another coworker while the whole store was a mess. Was very excited for my first Amazon fresh experience which was not a great one .First off you have to use their Amazon app to enter or if you choose not to you will then be forced to shop the traditional way which requires you to wait in line with extremely slow cashier's .As far as product for sale their was nothing spectacular select or price wise .Some stuff seemed odd to me like the top ramen bags sold separately for .33 cents a piece when normally ramen is sold in bulk at a grocery store .Needless to say we won't be back .There are several grocery stores that have much better selection and pricing not to mention less restrictions on your payment method/check out processes. read more

This place is a complete waste of space. "skip the checkout" is broken. Like all lanes are blocked off. This was even during a time in which "the big wigs" were in the store. I picked up 5 items and waited 45 @#%$ing minutes to checkout at quite possibly the slowest cashiers I've ever seen. Nothing was cheaper than any other local grocery store. A good 20% of the shelves were e-m-p-t-y. (think back to the start of the pandemic). As far as I'm concerned the ONLY reason to go here is "skip the checkout" which isn't functional. How amazon? you've had stores like this is in WA forever? why is it broken here? Twice I was caught between 4-5 employees arguing with each other who crowded around my cart while I was waiting to check out. When I said something I got a very childish/snarky comment back. I was super excited to shop at this Amazon store. However very disappointed. It's a nice looking store, but nothing special. Over priced on 90% of items. Except for Amazon brand foods, which taste terrible! Bought Amazon turkey breast & cheese. Tastes literally like cardboard. I checked out on the app & it's been 7 hours & I still haven't received the receipt via email. I don't know if I was charged correctly because I put some items back after putting them in my cart. Very creepy experience not checking out with a cashier. Their geo-tracking must be spot on because we were packed in that store, shoulder to shoulder. Underwhelming. Not great as I thought it would be. Amazon is this big giant company but their Amazon Fresh HB store seems not up to standard and has problems. Made a bad first impression. I'll visit again later. Hope it improves. To me, it feels like a mix of Whole Foods & Walmart Neighborhood Market cheap vibes because they use a lot of black color in their shelving and look of the store. Does not feel upscale & premium compared to a Whole Foods (also owned by Amazon). A little bit but not all the way. A big part of the store looks like Walmart Neighborhood Market (like the one on Beach blvd & Atlanta). It has a similar cheap look and feel. The online videos I see of other Amazon Fresh store locations look sooo much better than this HB store. Where they have it fullly stocked. But this HB location has lots of empty spaces & missing products on their drink & pre-packaged foods wall and around the store. Manager needs to step it up! Cons - Hot Bar closed! employee said reason is because it's understaffed. It's one of the main reasons I came here for. So disappointed - Cold Bar barely any food, little options - .89 cent French Bread rack. Empty, none available - Big wet mess with material on it, in front of the drinks / food wall. Is the mess there all day? not cleaned until after store closes or what? makes it difficult for customers to reach for products on the wall - Pre packaged foods on the wall had little selection. Lots of empty spaces and missing products...... thought there would be lots more from the videos I seen online from other locations. Not sure what the reason is. Maybe customers bought them earlier. Visit the store today 11/2/22. First time visit Amazon Fresh. The store is clean and well organized. There seem more associates than customers. Most associates working the isles are helpful. The male cashier is another story. He is cold and very unfriendly (I'm Asian don't know if that has anything to do with his attitude). He overcharged me on two items, one I caught at the store and one at home. I walked back to let the cashier know. He didn't say anything, not even sorry, just grabbing the receipt from my hand and did something then handed the receipt back to me, again without saying anything. Of the two overcharged items, one was adjusted, and I have to swallow the one I didn't notice at the store. Bottom line is making sure you double check the receipt before walking out of the store. Look, I'm coming from Walmart. So I figured the bar was already pretty much on the floor. Plus I thought its amazon so they have to have some standard right? Wrong. So so wrong. If my bar was on the floor this place was the basement. Half the employees were nice half were not. The shelves were almost barren. and what was there was almost 2 to 3 dollars more than I would get at Walmart or even target. And there was an ID check for the liquor isle. WHICH WAS ALSO MOSTLY EMPTY. There is 0 point in coming here. Its just over an overpriced tec version of walmart. And if I wanted overpriced walmart, Id go to target. Placed an order in app at 1030, checked in with counter at 1050 and it "wasn't showing', said he'll take my order, gave me a receipt stub. Said it was a 20 minutes. Waited. Checked in with him at 1115. Said it was almost done. They're on it. 1125 a lady that placed her order after me got hers. Said I was next. 1130 comes and ask if I can substitute a topping. I have been an Amazon member since they were little more than a book seller. To say I am disappointed with my one and only experience at Amazon Fresh is a huge understatement. If you like a poor selection of groceries, super crowded isles (resembling the 405 fwy at rush hour) and enjoy high prices then this store is for you. This is the 2nd Amazon Fresh I've been to and the experience has been very disappointing. The majority of the congestion in the aisles is from Amazon workers fulfilling online orders and 90% of the advertised sale items are not in stock. Ralphs grocery store on the other hand is a pleasure to shop both instore and online. 10x the selection of groceries, competitive pricing and no congestion in the aisles. The store is so clean, the parking lot is huge. The store offers a lot of variety, but I just wished they had the self scanning carts like the Irvine location. The store is large, and the staff is nice. The food looked really fresh and I loved the large selections that they offered. read more

It is very much different than most Grocery Stores. But don't like that scare you. You can purchase with cash, card or Amazon account. When you enter, there are these little "gates" that allow entry. Find the Yellow Gate that says Welcome and your shopping begins. There is a Bakery and Deli with Hot Pizza and Salad Bar and a Hot Meal Bar too. I tried the pizza there. It's ok for my taste. It's $2 a slice and $10 a pie. So it's ok. There is an area indoors near the checkout area where you can sit down and eat your meal. I don't have any complaints. I was Satisfied. Restrooms are in the back down aisle 10. I'm definitely coming back here even if it's for the food that is ready to eat. read more

So we received a coupon for 20$ off 50$ spent. Alright, awesome, so we go through the market and pick out about 50 bucks worth and when it's time to check out, an employee showed us how to scan in our coupon, I believe he actually did for us. Once we checked out, no receipt via email, later that day no receipt via email, the next morning, we got the receipt via email and our coupon was never applied. My wife contacted Amazon and they were literally no help. Long story short, won't be shopping here again, our local markets seem way better now. read more

Fresh food, clean shopping environment, easy to navigate and get in and out of the parking lots!

Not sure where to start. I've never had a good experience going here. Again the product in the weekly advertisement was out of stock. The customer service there doesn't exist. When I asked someone to check in the back for the product, they looked at me like I was from a different planet. They went to look in the back and were gone all of 3 seconds and said they couldn't find it. There were maybe 2 to 3 customers in the store and about 20 people walking around like zombies. I assumed they work there because they all had black on. I don't see how Jeff Bezos stays in business with a company like this or at least a store like this I just had to vent my frustration with this place. It gets better when several hours later you try to contact Amazon customer service and they can just say, "sorry" but still cannot tell you how much you paid or what they think you purchased.
