I'm obsessed. It's so much fun! Can there be more of these?? We stumbled inside of one (need to download Amazon Go app, link a payment card to your account, and you scan the app to enter) and had such a great experience. Once you get inside you just grab what you want then walk out. It feels like stealing, but it's not! The selection is the best. Grab and go items pre-packaged items from Blazing Bagels (breakfast bagel sandwiches), Molly's (sandwiches, salads), Elleno's yogurts and other local vendors (sushi, noodles and much more). Locally made chocolates and chips. Huge drink (soda, flavored water, juice) selection. All items you would need to build the perfect charcuterie plate including my favorite crackers (Beecher's), cheese (Beecher's) and a large wine selection. There's also frozen items including ice cream! I also saw some household items but didn't pay much attention to those - I was there for the snacks! Service was excellent. Our toddler was running around grabbing stuff then putting it back and the employee explained that once put back it would no longer be charged to our account. And if we were we could just flag it in the account and we would be refunded. We checked our receipt and the technology is so smart that we weren't charged for any of those items. We also accidentally dropped a yogurt and they credited it to our account without us even asking. It was such a thrill to grab stuff off the shelf then simply exit the store, and I loved how they curated a great set of local goods. We actually went back an hour later to get more goodies! I am generally not a fan of Amazon, BUT this is a very fun and impressive experience. I was smiling the whole time I was in the place and ended up returning for a second visit very promptly after I left. It's really an excellent execution, from the technology to the food choice and clean look of the store; the whole team did an excellent job on this product. The technology is very impressive, the staffers were very friendly and answered my questions, and also the food selection is high quality. Highlights: 1. Amazon has an onsite kitchen where they prepare some of the food (good looking entrees, sandwiches, fruit cups, etc). 2. I saw a lot of locally sourced prepared foods (Macarena Bakery, Alki Bakery, Blazing Bagels, Theo Chocolates, Molly's, etc). 3. The 'Middle Eastern Sandwich.' I didn't try it, but it caught my eye because usually this kind of stuff is labeled as 'Mediterranean Sandwich.' A big Thank You to whomever made the decision to call it 'Middle Eastern!' 4. If you're a tourist and is going to check out the Amazon Spheres, you might as well be super touristy and come here too to check out the buzz with this cashier-less grocery store. It's right next to the venue so this location does get busy. So far there's 6 with 3 being in Seattle, pretty cool concept. Does this decrease the price of groceries by cutting off on labor to have cashier? I'm not sure since it probably cost more to hire engineers to create this concept and upkeep on technology, but it is way more convenient for consumers to grab and go without the hassle of waiting in line to check out your items. There's a lot of packaged to-go lunches, a small wine/alcohol selection, and a few choices for other department. It has the basis of what you need, but not as large as if you were to go to a Safeway, but I see this technology being the future of grocery stores. What is not to love? Great tasting, resonably priced food, and super fast! Going here takes a little bit of prep work - downloading the app, but after that you are set. Walk in, browse for your food and walk out! You might giggle as you walk out because you feel like you just stole something but no worries, you will get an alert that tells you how much time you spent in the store, and what they charged you for! The OG Go is bigger than the others so much more comfortable to shop in even though there are more tourists. Download the app first so you don't have to wait outside. The store is very unique - your guests can enter with you, walk out separately, and you'll get all their charges, haha. The prices for most things are marked up but not significantly. Some things like yogurt and specialty drinks are about the same as a Whole Foods or full-priced Safeway item. Come check it out and show people around. Not sure how practical it is to shop here every day. Most of the items are food/meal related (even take-home meal preps). If this was situated closer to apartments, residents would likely want more home-good items. read more

I really love this concept! I've visited the store. Couple of times from when it first came out and was all of the craze to now when it's died down. They have individual packaged drinks, pre made food - individually packaged, snacks, a few produce, frozen foods, alcohol, and a few other assortment of items. This is not a large grocery store so if you're looking for lots of items this is not the place for you. This is design primarily for your quick grab and go item or items. The technology behind the store is amazing and I even tested the concept of grabbing and item and putting it back on the shelf to see if I would be charged. My friend tested this as well. Neither of us had charges for these items upon leaving the store and reviewing our e-receipts. I'd recommend you check it out if you're by the Amazon spheres. read more

Amazon.com/online service has made it difficult to contact a customer service representative. I made a purchase online Amazon and the price was change after purchasing the product. I called and before the representative would help me. I had to allow them to send a text to my email or I get no help. I had to go online to chat with someone and tell them I want a call from a customer service representative before I could get any help. Bad Business!! Amazon made the mistake, but send me through hell just to speak with customer service. This is what customers have to go through when there is an issue. Super convenient. I wish this was omnipresent across all airports/train stations/inside office buildings. It is hands down the most efficient way to shop when you're in a rush or on the move. The Vietnamese chicken and Jamaican salads are particularly great. They also have a good number of Indian dishes that need to be heated up. I only wish the store was bigger and I wish they had more hot food/fresh food options (although I don't know if the technology would be able to support that). read more

Very experiential. I downloaded the app before coming in (thanks for my friends tipping) so no hassle getting in. My friend also used my app to get in. Then we took some water and a bag of chips. When we tried to walk out, I was actually looking for a counter but there's none (well silly me, and not read before how this all works). Later in a couple minutes, I received a msg saying we got the receipt. Amazing! They knew exactly what I had taken. Also considering that we changed stuff in the middle, very impressed! Feeling kinda blessed cause this place is within walking distance from my office. So I usually come here to get their salads for lunch. I'm sure it has been said before but they have the best salads here and the price is reasonably cheap (ranging from $5-7) and they even offer half-salad too for $3. I've tried most of their salads but my favorite is their Roasted Mushroom salad, ooh yummy in my tummy. The salad comes with shimeji, shiitake & button mushrooms, mixed greens, crispy onion, sesame seed and their killer soy-honey vinaigrette. The combination of the crispy onion and the dressing is just awesome, married with the juicy mushrooms. Their Soba Noodle Salad is also delicious but it's on the heavier side due to the cold soba noodle in it but it also comes with the soy vinaigrette dressing, so again... yumm! Btw, Amazon, if you can sell the dressing in a bottle, that would be splendid! The Soba Salad is similar to the roasted mushroom salad but with the additions of cherry tomato, broccoli, carrots, edamame, fresh lemon, and spinach instead of mixed greens. My colleagues' favorite is their Simple Salad (mixed greens, goat cheese, chili-roasted pumpkin seeds, chopped dates and cider-vinaigrette dressing). Also, my guilty pleasure when I get the chocolate croissant is to warm it just a tad in the oven, the warm croissant plus the melting chocolate filling is just heaven. Just make sure to download the Amazon Go app before you come here, then you scan the code on your app when you enter through the turnstile. During our first visit they were handing out free reusable Amazon Go tote bags but you can always grab the brown paper bag or the orange reusable tote inside (limited quantity) but they're located on a table/stand where the salad area is.. And then you just grab whatever you want and after that you just exit through the turnstile (just follow where the green arrow is pointing), and you're done! Note: grab napkins and utensils on your way out by the door. You'll get your receipt and 'trip' summary a few minutes afterwards. I still can't figure out how the system can detect which hand grabs what item since all the shelves are always crowded with people standing, and everyone is motioning for similar item and at the same direction. The store isn't that big which I'm sure that expansion is in the very near future, but right now they do have limited but pretty great selection of items like refrigerated ready-to-eat meals, bakery, refrigerated drink, snacks, refrigerated meal-kit sections and the alcohol section with a staff manning the area ready to check your ID.. FYI- they get pretty busy during lunch hour, will be best to go before or after the lunch rush. Open at 7am to 9pm everyday and close on the weekends! read more

Had to visit here and check it out. It's a cool place with good variety of to-go meals, sandwiches, salads. You can also get beers, chips, cheese , juice, milk. A tiny grocery store. It's cool how the app works intelligently recognizing the final products you picked to buy and you are charged for only those when walking it of store. Loved it!!! Very interesting concept, while visiting Seattle we had to stop in and see what all of the hype was about. You basically walk in scan your Amazon Go App and pick up what you want and leave. When you go to leave the app just knows what you picked up and charges you. There is one person there if you have any questions but other than that you're kinda on your own. Quick in and out trip. What else can you ask for. I went in late so some items were out of stock. It was rush hour when everyone is out.

The concept of this store is amazing but the items inside could be better. I downloaded the Amazon Go app before I arrived which made things go by smoothly. We were greeted by an Amazon employee upon entering and scanned in when I passed through. I knew I wanted the insulated metal water bottle (It's $15). My husband wanted floss but then we saw that it was $6 for two packs! Ended up skipping on that because we could get it somewhere else cheaper. They have a small area to the right as you exit to warm up your food and eat it. There's a couple of tables and seats as well as condiments, utensils and microwaves. I went there to get some lunch. Ordered at the kiosks waited 10 mins for my "fresh hot" sandwich only to have the lady tell me "we don't have that" for a progressive, fast convenient, state of the art store. Why did you allow orders for something you don't have. It's just a 7/11 that you have to mess around with your phone to pay. Plus half the sleeves were empty & selection is very poor. I tried to talk to someone at Amazon but they could careless. No wonder they closing stores. read more

The convenience this store offers, is an addiction. Didn't realize it until I got addicted. Its a grab and go store with no check out lines. You basically just walk in, scan the Amazon go app at the door, take what you need, and walk out. Amazon automatically bills this to your Amazon account and sends you a receipt within minutes. I've tried to make their system fail by picking up stuff and putting it back. They never charge me a penny more :) They have plenty of great lunch options- Sandwiches and salads. They also carry basic necessities and snacks. Prices are the same as any other store. We were in the area and had to check this out to see just how it worked. And now I have to look it up, because I still don't know. Prior to visiting, I downloaded the Amazon Go App and linked it to my Amazon Prime account. My husband and I both went in, but I was the only one with the app, so when we got there, I scanned my phone, let him in, and then scanned it again and went in myself. There were employees there to help if help was needed - though it doesn't seem like they actually offer help unless asked (as there were 5 people confused and blocking our entry into the store and not 1 of the 3 employees standing there chatting offered to help them). So as long as you know what to do when you get there, you are good to shop. We picked up a sandwich and some fruit for lunch and placed it in our (free for now) Amazon reusable shopping bag. We walked out, picked up some napkins, sriracha, and mayo packets and went on our way. A little while later I received an email receipt for our purchases at the store. Easy peasy. read more

I don't think I exaggerate when I say, this is one of the best, modern shopping advancements ever. It's only 6 stores in USA thus far, 3 in Seattle. It's the future of shopping. It's on a smaller scale now, convenience store level. Although they have numerous prepared meals, etc available One day imagine not filling a grocery cart, emptying it to scan it, then bagging it. Grab what u want, scan and go. No more long, annoying grocery store, retail lines. You get a notification with the detailed list of purchases and time spent in the store. This felt like an iPod/iPhone experience, total game changer. Something new and exciting. Only downside it will probably take decade(s) to reach beyond the current big cities (Seattle, has 3 Chicago has one and San Fran has one). Most important part of Seattle trip, this is the future, now please HURRY UP. We need this in Toronto, Tacoma, Flint, maybe even Brampton!? (Worst city in North America) ;) read more

This store is awesome!! Super cool concept that I can definitley see happening in more locations! You basically dl the amazon go app & it links to your amazon prime account. You scan the app to enter the store and grab whatever you want from the shelves & it automatically adds it to your online cart. Each product on the shelf has a sensor which knows if you've grabbed an item. How crazy is that?! No cashiers, no lines... super simple!! Of course there are still workers there to ensure entrance/exit is smooth and a few stocking/answering q's. Food items: It's all grab & go type food/snacks/drinks. They have a lot of local bakeries/products that they carry, which I love seeing! They seem to have a lot of the latest brands & snacks. (I.e. kombucha, cold brew cans etc.) They also have these cool dinner kits that are pretty tasty! (Similar to blue apron kits) Bravo amazon!!! Can't wait for more locations! read more

Amazon Go is such a nice, new experience that I would not skip on your trip to Seattle! Be prepared by downloading and familiarizing yourself with the app before arrival, and then all you do is scan and walk in. Pick up a bag and begin browsing. It was actually as easy as Amazon online shopping to just throw a bunch of stuff in your bag and leave. Bonus: they have nice little 'Amazon Go' mugs and chocolate bars. Still in awe of how cool and efficient this place is! Cashier-less... grab what you want and just go. They were giving one free reusable bag per customer when I was there. All you have to do is scan your guests followed by yourself in, pick what you want, leave to continue about your day, and then get charged a few minutes later. The options are a little limited because it's a smaller convenience store, but they have most basic food and general necessities. Before you're allowed in you must download the app. It's a really small store more like a 7-11 convenient store. I put my drinks in the shopping bag. You won't get a receipt until 5-10 mins later. If the system is perfect I would love this type of shopping from now on. I admit, I really came here just for the novelty factor, I had to see what everyone was talking about and check out what will hopefully be the shopping experience of the future! *Download the "Amazon Go" app ahead of time, its very quick, you register your e-mail and attach a credit card to the account, you will need this in order to enter the store* Entering you scan in with the app and get exploring! Well, there really isn't much to it. I am not sure why, but I imagined this spot being a large grocery store when in reality it is just a small grab and go spot. But, there is a good variety of pre-made food options, beverages, and even booze! I wouldn't say you can actually do you grocery shopping here, but there are some basics like bottled ketchup, boxed pasta, cheese, milk, etc. I guess the real draw would be coming here to grab a quick on the go lunch as I did. I grabbed a kombucha and the "hangry vegan" wrap (because duh, I am always a hangry vegan). Just drop your items into the provided reusable bags, walk out, and thats it. I really felt like I was stealing, but then you get an e-mailed reciept within seconds of leaving reminded you of what you've purchased. I took my snack and sat on the bench right around the corner overlooking the new Amazon dome. The wrap had tofu, cabbage, carrots, red onion, and a peanut sauce all in a white tortilla. I was a bit underwhelmed by the wrap, it was a little dry, and might have been better if the tofu was warm... but hey, it was like $5 and it was quick. Totally worth coming to experience this. I do think that this will be the way that all the grocery stores will be in the future. It was so quick and actually kinda fun. Was pretty excited about this experience - more for the touristy "I have never tried this before" aspect, than the "I need to pick up a few things" experience. You download the special app, scan your personalized code code (you can even scan for a few other people if you're all on one bill) and head into the store. You pick up the things you desire - from grab-and-go lunch options like salads and sandwiches to regular convenience store fare like chips and snacks, to ready-to-cook meal kits and pretty decent bottles of wine. Felt a bit like shoplifting, putting things in my shopping bag and just walking out. 5(ish) minutes later, I had a receipt on my phone (and they do give you options to ask for a refund just in case, since it is technology after all and even cyborgs make mistakes). Don't know if I would stop in for groceries per se, but would definitely take out-of-towners as a tourist experience! read more

The Amazon Go store needs to get out and take over all the stores. I'm sorry/not sorry retail workers. You might actually like retail if you're 'stuck' working in an Amazon Go store. The 'deli' workers never have to deal with people. They just churn out delicious grab and go solutions for everyone en masse. I'm not saying that everyone is going to want to grow up and be an Amazon Go worker, but I'd have taken that over working in Golden Corral and smelling like fried chicken for three years. The selection here is actually better for lunch and quick meals than Whole Foods. I'm sure that is Amazon's master plan at monitoring what purchases we make, but it gets me some extra exercise having to walk up the hill to get to the Go store. Add to the fact that because of the constant construction, I've walked past the same adjacent plot to the Spheres many times and had to circle back to the store. Even in the worst cases, the longest time I've spent in the Amazon Go store may be just under three minutes, and that was the first time when a group from work went having no idea what we were doing. The frustrating part (ok, less now months later)? People stopping at the entrance/exit saying 'wait? I can just go?' Even after going several times, I've caught myself questioning what I was doing, and then remembering I literally just need to go away. Have your app ready when you get to the store. It will save you a lot of time during the rush period. If at all possible, leave babies out of the store. Bring your child to work day at the Amazon Go store was a total disaster, but as disasters go, the ease of getting in and out of there in 45 seconds with my breakfast at 7 AM, dodging a few dozen children under 7 was quite impressive. I'm not sure how I made it out alive, but I'm sure Amazon had something to do with it. Wifi is free and good performance in the area so you have no excuse for you app download or it working. They really put this thing through the paces before unleashing it on the public. Did you try to drive here? Get out of town. There is a bike path going in front of the store, so watch yourself heading out the store in case bikers are in the area. read more

Friendly staff, first timer here and helped me get in with my stroller. It is a bit tight spaced when it's crowded so bring your baby carrier and skip the stroller! I liked the selection of ready to eat snacks, lots of drink choices. They have beer and wine too. The only downside was there was no baby food. And that's really not that much of a downside. They're giving away free reusable totes for a limited time so come now to get yours. You'll need it if you're grabbing more than a couple things. The best thing that stood out to me was the reasonable prices. I filled up an entire tote with snacks and drinks and treats and it only cost me $16! They do not mark up the prices like other grocery places downtown which is awesome. Things were cheaper than back home at my local grocery store. My son thought it was the coolest place so we will be back. read more

Cool store and concept...there seemed to be mostly tourists checking out the store, but it was a late Sunday afternoon when I, a tourist stopped in with my friend who lives in Seattle! I just bought a few of the amazon go/theos chocolate bars, reusable bags & a coffee mug for gifts...the rest were pretty much groceries and stuff that locals would need to buy on their way home from work. I think if I were to go to another Amazon go store, it would be for snacks and stuff while in town...as long as it is in a convenient location. read more
