I stopped by the Amazon Go near the Sphere expecting an early-morning grab-and-go experience, but it was unfortunately closed. It would have been a convenient stop before the city picked up, especially given the nearby coffee and pedestrian traffic. I was impressed by the sleek storefront and high-tech vibe, so I'll definitely try again another time. With its ideal location and promise of seamless shopping, I have high hopes once it opens its doors earlier. JY review

It's an interesting idea to visit the amz go in Seattle. We opened the amz app and scanned in. Took an iced coffee and walked out. There's a washroom and small dining area with cutlery and microwave.

First time experience.. it was WOW ! Took kids and my in laws , and they were amazed . But the shop can be better . Not much stuff inside . Wish they had more items to shop. They have some really basic basic stuff .. they really have to UP the inventory . Coffee was good . Some snacks were good but it was just for the store experience that we went . With so many cameras and systems in store , it is possibly better to hire someone in cashiers counters and pay them :). They also had beer and wine :) Nice try from Amazon but i really wished the store had more items and looked pretty . Overall a good experience

Next Level Fast & Healthy Food. Whether you agree with the technology or not, it's here and is pretty awesome to literally grab what you need and go. No waiting. No checkout. It was perfect for getting drinks, snacks, even dinner one evening while we were on vacation without having to pay for overpriced items at our hotel.

Right in the headquarters of Amazon, the AmazonGo store! Must visit in Seattle and very cool experience indeed! Must have an Amazon account and open up app and scan code and ready to shop in a matter of seconds. You pick up any item/s and you just walk out of the store and Amazon chargers your account automatically when you pick up something (keep that in mind). If your in downtown great place to spot by to grab some food on the go.

Usually, I've been very happy with Amazon Go and their food products. Service is excellent and the store is always clean and neat. I've tried several of their sandwiches - all of which have been VERY good. Then of course there is the amazing prices for their food selections. But today, not so much. I ordered their cold BLT sandwich. The bread was so dried out that it crumbled as I took each bite. The contect not very filling - more lettuce and tomato than bacon. This was the leanest sandwich by far and the bread far from fresh. Not a good showing Amazon Go...not this time. I'd rather have paid the $9.99 for your club that is well filled with quality meat, etc. than ever order this tasteless sandwich ever again.

Woohoo! Welcome to the 21st century corner market. This fully automated Amazon grocery is the best thing since sliced bread IMHO, and further cements my tendency to make Jeff Bezos even richer. On a quick business trip to Seattle, I tried out one of these fully automated Amazon stores (the flight during CV19 was a trip, so to speak). I'd read about this new concept, testing since about 2018 and now opening up all over (Seattle, Chicago, New York, SF, Philly, NJ). Amazon is now the owner of Whole Foods (can integration of this tech be far off there?) They're also experimenting with buying and converting standard grocery stores to this methodology. The basic idea is you load an app on your phone which clocks you into a little gate at the front of the store. Everything is fully automated on your Amazon account and there's no need to check out or even self-scan. A couple of cities have passed ordinances that you must have a cash option, so a few of these stores also have a human checkout for Luddites, but most don't take cash or have any form human attendant. Wow: clean, fast, good prices and never a chance of a surly check-out dude. When will this concept come to Miami?

One of the things I was looking forward to while visiting Seattle was to try Amazon Go. It's an amazing technology and I had to experience this myself. Amazon Go stores is like an upscale version of a 7-Eleven store where you can get drinks and snacks. It's great when you are on the go and want something quick. You start off by downloading the Amazon Go app and scanning it at the turnstyle to get into the store. Once your inside the store, you select the items you want and walk out. It will automatically detect the items you took and charge your Amazon account automatically within a few minutes and it is very accurate. It's a strange concept not to pay as you walk out. It almost feels like you are stealing.

If you are Seattle you have to check in out if you are an Amazon person (even if you aren't they will MAKE YOU ONE - one day). Like everyone says you download the app & have your phone on you. Walk into the store and scan your phone to open the gates. Shop around and pick up stuff and then just walk out. A little later you will get a receipt of what you purchased. This store is quite small and imagine a 7-11 type of place. It also could be because there were so many people in store too. I would like to have one of these near me but there are only 19 stores in Seattle, Chicago, San Francisco, New York. I'm sure if there was a store that opened in SD it would be in downtown.....

There were none in the greeting cards aisle and none near the souvenir t-shirts. I asked the Security Guard and he suggested Aisle 4... Nope. That's the beverage aisle. I thought that I should check Aisle 1 since I looked in every other aisle... Of course the post cards were there! The last place was the winner! I grabbed a bunch and waited in line to pay. The customers ahead of me didn't have their wallets out and one woman had questions about a gift card. I give these store clerks credit... challenging customers test your patience... LOL! Maybe it was the appointment I made with the pharmacist for a vaccine and when I showed up the pharmacy was boarded up and there were 14 people waiting and the pharmacy assistant screamed "there's no pharmacist! Apparently one will eventually show up." Spoiler: they didn't. Or maybe it was today when I tried again to get a vaccine. I made an appointment, showed up early, checked in and there was so much spit on the plexiglass between me and the pharmacist that she was literally blurry. At one point an assistant made eye contact with me, made a gun out of her fingers and pretended to shoot her self in the head. So yeah - this place is a stain on the Walgreens brand and our downtown. I'd rather drive to another pharmacy than walk to this one on my neighborhood.

A few times we've been caught without some of those above-mentioned items and with the recent closure of Whole Foods walking to a grocery store for goods has been even more of a chore. Here comes Plaza Select. It's got pretty much everything you'd expect and want but marked up by a few dollars or so. Primarily my friend and I come here for Ice. $3.xx here as opposed to $2-2.50 elsewhere. Not a huge markup which is fine but on one of my visits I went to debit the purchase, and it was an additional $1 or 2 because anything under $5 carries a fee.
