    Tropicality

The place is decorated so intriguing. You want to stop and try the fruits. I had the tropicality, I think that is what it's called. It was a bit tart and sweet. It was good but the price was a bit high for the drink.

Very very yummy! Only complaint was they added gratuity onto my bill, told me it automatically charged me a tip, then proceeded to ask if it was okay or if I wanted it removed? Confusing. Unique dessert though, would definitely go back!

Located on the Macys side of the mall Amazónica has a wide variety of smoothie and shaved ice creations very fun! The staff was very helpful and attentive. Being that this location was in the mall the view consisted of other shops but the bowl itself was very refreshing and sweetly satisfying. I got an açaí bowl with mango, kiwi, and LYCHEE I've never had that before and loved it! Thank you

a cup of ice cream and strawberries

Had an oblea. The brownlea one. They warmed up dry brownies & stuck it in between the wafers. It stated peanut butter with it in the menu but it was more like caramel. Wasn't very good, my daughter wouldn't even eat it & she loves sweets. Ordered the raspberrynella. The best thing about it was the blue bunny vanilla ice cream scoop. The combination didn't really go well together & it didn't blend well. Also the ice part was very chunky. The Rice Krispies were very random. Beware the enter an optional service fee on top & no way to remove it. So not worth the money at all. Looks pretty and that's about it.

Watered down "juice" and 2 small bland chicken empanadas

First time at Amazonica, the staff is friendly, the prices are not so friendly. I asked for a strawberry, mango, pineapple juice, the lady didn't say they don't make juice, they made me a smoothie that had some much crushed ice in it. I also ordered potato empanadas and chicken empanadas, she only charged me for the potato. It was $16 with my mall discount! Got the potato and it had less than a teaspoon of potato in it, felt like I was paying for the air inside the empanada. After waiting 10 minutes for the chicken I go ask and find out she didn't charge me. So I ask to exchange the potato for the chicken since I took one bit and didn't enjoy it at all. She charged me $2.67 extra and the chicken empanada was the most bland empanada I've ever had, and I'm Caucasian 2 small empanadas with water down smoothie for $18 with mall discount! Not good quality.

Stopped here for a quick snack at the Aventura mall location. It's located right in the center of the mall, where they have the fresh market every weekend, in front of Macy's. Enjoyed the concept and the waffle sandwich was DELICIOUS. However, because of the price, I wound exactly come back. I started with the mini empanadas (3/5) and then tried the waffle sandwich (5/5) however, for both of these items and a cup of coffee (3/5) paid $30. Everything was on the small side and the coffee lacked flavor.

Last weekend, we found this great little restaurant booth at Aventura Mall near Macy's that has delicious baked goods, desserts, coffee and snacks.

We ended up here on NYE for a quickie bite before heading to Fairchild's Night Garden. The vibe is kitschy and fun and the menu hits the sweet spot for Japonophiles with a curated assortment of faves from takoyaki to tonkotsu and even onigiri. On this night we wanted to keep it light so we started with the Japanese pickles which were a vibrant and crisp mix of veggies. Then a miso soup with fried rolled tofu sheets and lots of fresh green onions. We can never pass up his and hers unagi nigiri, and these were perfection: warm, sweet, and buttery on the tongue. Then it was time for makimono. Sushi in Japan tends to be simpler with a focus on expertly cut fresh fish, but at Umaimon they depart from the classics to play to the American palate with ingredients like cream cheese and mango. Now these are not the most creative offerings you'll find in the 305, but they do offer solid choices done well. He had the Twin Dragon and I couldn't pass on the Sugar Daddy. Now, is this the best Japanese/sushi place you're going to find in Miami? Probably not. But is it the most kawaii? Quite possibly. If you too have fallen in love with Japan but can't afford another plane ticket, Umaimon comes in clutch delivering faves in an unassuming spot.
