Perfect place for a quick pickup or simple sit down. There's just a few tables inside but more outside in the terrace. In the morning my favorite is a cafe con leche and a couple croquetas. Their egg platters are fantastic and come with toast that is just perfect. Oh, and they have amazing fresh squeezed orange juice. For lunch we love their Pan con Lechón which is tasty. The Cuban bread is fresh and perfectly toasted. The Pan con Bistec is yummy with all the trimmings. We especially love the potato sticks in it. You take a number and they quickly go through them. It's easy to know where you are in line by checking the digital display with the current number being served. We noticed they now have full platters. This is a nice bakery with mostly Cuban sandwiches, pastries, and sandwiches. The ambience is nice but made mostly for eating outside or takeout. Their empanadas are a little on the small size and not much filling, most of the "croquetas" appear to be from a box. The service it is basically take a ticket and wait to be called. We have been passing by the CAO Bakery on 163rd Street for years and finally ordered from CAO over Uber Eats for dinner one night. We ordered around 8 pm and our food was ready for pickup in 10 minutes and was ready at the outdoor pickup window. We ordered two grilled chicken sandwiches for around $13 and fries for around $3 and a few croquettes as sides for a few bucks. We took our food and ate it on the patio with ample tables and seating. The food was all really good, very flavorful and food quality was great for the value. About 8:30 or so one of the employees came out to the table and let us know they were closing in 30 minutes and also gave us a free tray of pastries they were about to discard at the end of the night. It was a really nice gesture and we appreciated it. Food, service, and the overall atmosphere were amazing and we look forward to returning! read more

I love coming here. But again, if you don't really speak Spanish, you feel a bit intimidated. With my little Spanish and English, I communicated my order. Love this spot! They have restrooms towards the back. Spacious inside and some tables too. There's a plethora of different things you can get. But my eyes set in three things. Guava bread, cheese bread, and the ham or meat rolls. Reminiscent of the bakery down in LA Porto's, this was the very spot I got put in guava bread and was ecstatic when I found a similar version in LA. Now it needs a branch in San Francisco! I'd be extra esssited and happy to have em here in the city. Love the goods and how there's a Yelp check in for a free tasting if a pastry of your choice! Clean, bright, lovely and well maintained Cuban bakery, many pastries everything look delicious. They have breads available as well as empanadas and sandwiches and a breakfast menu. I noticed they also cater for events and parties. The coffee was great and I enjoyed the flavor and the texture of the guava pastries. Luckily, my order had always gotten right. I usually ordered the tostada with cream cheese and Swiss cheese and it's so good and filling. The tostada is pretty big, two big pieces of bread with a lot of filling. Also, we get breakfast with scrambled eggs, ham, and French fries and it also comes with a tostada with butter and coffee. It's a great price for everything within that breakfast platter. The coffee here is really good and they have an almond milk option if you need a dairy-free option. The other day I ordered a pan con bistek and they overcooked the steak even after I told them medium. Also the steak had no flavor. The coffee was good and the service was fine. CAO is a large, clean bakery with a wide selection of cakes, pastries, and other food items. My favorite item to get here is their guava paste logo, which is slightly over a dollar. However, a Yelp check-in gets you a free one! I've had a variety of their cakes as well; the flan cheesecake and dulce de leche flavors are so rich and creamy. My only negative experience was with their tiramisu -- it was drenched with an overly sweet coffee syrup that leaked through the box. The cake was extremely dry and barely had enough cream like a real tiramisu. When you walk in, make sure to grab a paper number ticket to be helped. They have a register and can also take payments via their mobile device, which makes the line move super fast! read more

I found that I had a taste for a Cuban sandwich. While staying a week in Miami, there's no way to get around the culture that the food brings. I went for lunch but was surprised to see they serve breakfast all day. Their breakfast was reasonably priced for a nice meal. I went with a chicken Cuban. I enjoyed the fact that the chicken was nicely marinated . I ordered a side of fries however, realise that there were already fries on the sandwich. My daughter order a chimichurri sandwich. I was surprised at the size of the sandwich and the amount of meat that they had. The sandwich was perfect and I was able to save half of it for later. They also made a variety of pastries cakes and cookies. The smell of fresh pastries is an intoxicating aroma.
