This review is definitely way overdue.... I have been a customer since 2015 (i think) but def 5+ yrs. I was going to the dealer in Arcadia prior to bringing my Benz to AMB. My benz started having some issues and I was always bringing it back for something small and being charged so much, it was really ridiculous. I decided to try AMB after calling them and speaking to Rick the 1st time, I felt comfortable coming in. Let me tell you.... They are so nice and down to earth. BEWARE!!! USE AT YOUR OWN RISK! doesn't stand by his work!! My Girlfriend got WORKED OVER by this guy. He charged her $2800 for a new engine that was never rebuilt. Once I cracked it open, any fool could see that it wasnt rebuilt or new. A used engine costs around $500, so he scored $2,300 by just resetting some codes. NICE PAYDAY MAN!!!! SCORE!!!! A business associate had recommended using this guy to fix her car. When he recommended that she replace the engine, I just knew something was up. it seemed like she was about to get taken of course she took it there anyway against my objections. Rick told her that she needed a new engine, replacing an engine is usually the last thing that you EVER do. Rick didn't even give her error codes. He just told her that she needs a new engine. I told her not to do it, but she is too strong willed and did it anyway. Immediately after she replaced the engine, a couple months after having the engine "Supposedly" replaced the same problems (stop and go, limp mode driving rough idle, dies at stop signs) everything that it was doing before. In addition, She is also losing massive amounts of oil. She has to carry an oil container because her oil light keeps coming on. So she stopped driving the car for several months. (We have several cars) We truly have no Idea if he even replaced the engine we are just taking him at his word, he showed no proof that the engine was ever changed. Except a Bill. We got tired of the car sitting in the driveway, so I decide that I'm going to take it back and he starts to complain that it's been too long. We are like NO its only been several months and the mileage is really low you have to look at it. He says that the guy who replaced the engine, he fired him and he charges us to make some changes. He said that he corrected some things, (what, I dont know). Again I dont know if he actually did anything, we're just taking him at his word. He is supposed to give us the old parts but of course he didn't. We shouldn't have to ask for the old parts; it should be a courtesy. So 3 more months go by and the car starts doing the same thing, we take the car back to him, and he starts making noise about how he can't really do anything because it's been 9 months. Then he accuses me of being aggressive. So I got out my code reader and read him the codes and he got angry with me for doing his job for him. We pressure him to take the car back (because he said that he didn't have any space). Again, he eventually took it back after some arguing, and again he gave us a bill for replacing the spark plugs. He was supposed to give us the old parts, but again he didn't. So AGAIN several months later the car starts doing the same thing. She says that she needs to take it back to him. I told her that she "would be a FOOL to take it back to him because obviously he doesn't know what he is doing. So The Pandemic hits and I suddenly have a ton of time on my hands, So I start to take the car apart and really start researching and diagnosing the issues. I dont know much about cars, but i'm not a fool. Working in the Real Estate business ive learned to follow directions very well and fix things. So I proceed to read the codes and google them, go to YouTube and TikTok and I learn how to fix em. EASY AS PIE. I replaced the Oil Cap, Spark Plugs, Camshaft Sensor, Camshaft Magnet, Crankshaft Sensor, spark plug gaskets, engine gasket, Map Sensor, Collapsed Water hose, i cleaned the MAF sensor etc... Tons of stuff, these are items that just should have been replaced, when the engine was supposedly rebuilt. How do you rebuild and engine and not change the spark plugs??? How do you rebuild an engine and you dont change the Seals??? How do you see that the water hose is Collapsed and you dont replace it??? I feel that this engine was not replaced. I feel that he bamboozled her. These issues that I encountered, I personally feel that they could have been easily diagnosed by a competent mechanic, but instead I had to go to YouTube to figure out these issues and fix stuff that he should have fixed. I'm a little obsessive compulsive and I literally pulled most of that engine apart and tested all of the sensors & fuses, I even replaced the Fuel pump and the Fuel Filter in an effort to get the car to run like a car with a engine should run. I even pulled the turbocharger and air intake valves off to get to the Crankshaft Position Sensor and replace it. I also bought compression testing equipment to test the cylinder heads and head gasket leakage. A new head gasket should be getting compression in the 5% to 10% range. I guarantee that the head gasket was not changed we are getting double that loss. The amount of knowledge that I have gained off tearing this car apart was absolutely amazing. I actually want to buy another one and test myself again so that I never have to use a lying mechanic again. Small Claims & BAR paperwork is in process. read more

Ricky is the most honest mechanic I have ever had the pleasure of working with. I have an older BMW model which has with age become mildly problematic. I try to stay up to date with all maintenance however being it's a BMW it becomes quite expensive, however working with Ricky at AMB service center has been such a pleasant experience, not only has it been a pleasant experience but he and his company have Integrity, something most people have forgotten to honor. " Loyalty and Integrity is everything " I would like to start out by saying , that AMB does excellent quality work , my grip is not the workmanship , it's about loyalty and customer service and integrity that has recently diminished over the years . I have been going to AMB Auto Center for over 5 years , I was under the impression , that I had a good relationship with shop owner Rick, base off the fact that I have referred him over 20 customers and have spent several thousand dollars on repairs for all of my cars. In the beginning Rick appeared to be genuine and was a humble person. As the years progressed , he started become dark and distant , pricing started to increase rapidly, the biggest notable change when he move to new location Duarte. I guess the cost for the huge shop is putting him under pressure. He has turned rouge and dark and very arrogant and dishonest . Be really careful always check your prices of your parts if possible, get a second opinion. At the end of the day it's your money. I hope things change with this guy, he needs to come back down to reality. "God Giveth and God Taketh away" it does not pay to be greedy and arrogant. For those who have experience the negative changes and are tired of spending you're hard earned money without getting respect that you deserve , I have a gift for you. I new local shop called Cisco Benz and Beemer, they are located in Rancho Cucamonga Address 9851 8th St Unit B CA 91730 (951) 368-3457. I was referred to Rick when the shop I brought my Bimmer to did not fix European cars. I was suspicious at first but Rick put me at ease by hosting the car immediately to check on the faults the dealership claimed that I needed to be get 'em done. He then proceeded to give me a very fair quote for the work needed to be done - and believe me I checked with others who quoted differently with prices going way North. He said he would use original parts which other may not, and that sealed the deal with his fair labor for the tasks. Delivered the Bimmer completed at the end of the day as promised plus a few extra minor adjustments done to it (and yes, it's my car and I noticed the difference). Highly appreciated! read more

I really don't like posting bad reviews ever... So I feel really bad posting this.. The first time I took my BMW here for work, they did an awesome professional job! Second time, I discovered the lighter in my car was used (I don't smoke) and the cover was missing, found it thrown under the seat. But nonetheless the job was good. I took my car back here to get NEW brakes...and had to take it back because of how loud they were...they told me something else was wrong and charged me even more money. Which is fine..i just wanted it fixed. I took it home and it seemed fine...on my way to school the next day it was making the exact same loud screeching.. They are always busy which shows they are doing a something right.. but yet they are always available to take me in and service my car. I didn't experience the problems that JT had below, which I was surprised to hear. Had a leak with our AC on our S, Rusnak in Arcadia quoted us $9,000 to fix it!!! (I think they were either trying to get us to just buy a new car or weren't confident they could fix the problem). Rick quoted us a price that 80% less than what the rip-off artists at Rusnak quoted! It did take him more time to fix the car vs. what he originally quoted, but it was around the holidays and he was a bit shorthanded and very busy at the same time, which was understandable, and he did call me to give me updates. So I would recommend giving him a shot if you have a MB problem to resolve, especially if the dealer wants your arm and leg to do something. read more
