Jolly good show! I just saw Chicago and it was such an awesome production. The theater itself is pretty intimate which I really appreciate. Any seat is a good seat here. The one thing is that it's pretty tight quarters. The actual seats are pretty small and there's really not much leg room going on. Of course it's a theater so I'm not expecting to lay out hahaha but you basically couldn't even cross your legs if you wanted to. There was 1 bathroom on the second floor with a line worming outside but the line moved decently quick. :) Would be helpful if there were another bathroom but all is well! Such an amazing show.

The play was good. Chicago has been around for decades and is a fixture in theaterdlm This theatre house needs some work starting with the bathrooms.

The Ambadassor is the long time home of Chigaco, one of the longest running shows on Broadway! We were able to snag some last minute tickets at a good price. Looking at the seating chart online, our seats didn't look very good, but we were quite surprised to arrive at what is a rather small theater, so our back of the top section seats were not all that far from the stage, and had great views! The theater is small - no waiting room inside, so you're going to come in, sit down, and stay sat. The restrooms are pretty small for the size of the venue, so you may or may not have time for a break. There's a roaming candy and wine vendor with snacks, wine, and water, and the ushers are quite adamant about the no cell phones rule. However, they really have no issues with late seating, which is much more disruptive to the audience. All in all, a fun night out in an interesting venue!

We saw Chicago - which of course, was fantastic! Theatre is quite small for fitting 1000+ guests! As many have said, the seats are very cramped and very little leg room. the mezzanine pitch is high, so your knees will be in the head of the person in front of you - I have short legs and still couldn't adjust my legs so halfway thru the show, became rather uncomfortable. Seats are only slightly wider than budget airport seats, but because of the way they are stacked, There is nowhere for your feet except 90 degree below knees That said, the Mezzanine is not far back, and stacked directly above the orchestra (much closer than they appear in the ticket diagrams), so the seats are close and the views were decent For the ladies, only a couple bathroom stalls on the second floor - so plan ahead and accordingly! Best don't try to go during intermission! We did not purchase refreshments, but a double pour of red wine in a (leaky, as the staff said) plastic cup, to be drank with a straw, was $33.

Summer of 2025, our family is here in New York to see the play Chicago. It's ironic but it's a blast! Great musical with so much fanfare and razzle dazzle. All that jazz. It's a must-see for those who love Broadway plays. The Chicago play itself is a tad vulgar in their dialogue so don't bring your young kids.

We enjoyed Chicago in this theater. The theater itself was clean but it has very tight seating. We were in the second row and were honestly nearly on the stage. The seat map is misleading. But we enjoyed the show and had a good time!

Saw Chicago at the Ambassador Theatre, and it was fantastic! The theater is cozy with great views from every seat. It's definitely older, but you could argue full of history! The show itself was jazzy, bold, and so much fun. Alyssa Milano as Roxie Hart was the standout for me. Growing up loving her on Charmed, it was amazing to see her light up the stage. She brought so much sass, humor, and charm to the role.

This is one of the smaller theaters theaters that I have visited. However, I will say that it was definitely an intimate setting and pretty cool to be so close to the stage. I only wish the Broadway musical that we had went to see had use the stage much more than they did. It was a little distracting that the orchestra took up more than 2/3 of the stage. However, this theater was generally clean and it was really cool how there was someone walking around to sell various concessions. All in all to see a different musical I would definitely go back!!

When you visit NY, there are a few things you need to do, one of them being see a Broadway show! We had planned on trying to see Phantom, but the price was way too high for us. I have seen Chicago before and really enjoyed it so I knew this would be a good alternative. We got our tickets at the Cheap Tix in Times Square. Tickets can be purchased online or at the theatre, but we went day of and purchased them at a discount. When you use Cheap Tix, you do not get choice of seats, but we had the 6th row on the side. If you have never been to a theatre in NY, they are small. Being on the side, no big deal, you can clearly see the stage. Now when I say small, I mean small. I have hips, not terribly huge hips but hips, I sat down and stayed down, the seats are TINY!!! I am also tall; my knees were jammed to the row in front of me. WHY!!! There is no need for them to be this small. There is a restroom on the second floor and the line is usually all the way down to the first floor. I would recommend holding it or go as soon as you get in so you dont miss the show. Currently, this theatre is showing Chicago. The show, fantastic. Singing, dancing, great music and awesome story. Chicago is a 1975 American musical with music by John Kander, lyrics by Fred Ebb, and book by Ebb and Bob Fosse. Set in Chicago in the jazz age, the musical is about female criminals and the crimes that they are accused of. This show has been around for 25 years, and it still makes you do a little shimmy in your seat when they sing "All that Jazz"! The singers and dancers currently on Broadway right now are amazing! There was literally not 1 bad part. I was absolutely into every minute and did not want it to end. I love how they incorporate the live band into the story since the theatre is small. I also love how they sit on the side when they are not on the stage since the majority of the show takes place in "jail". It keeps you remembering that the story takes place in jail and the actors don't just disappear. I honestly cannot say enough about this show. The dancing, Bob Fosse, everyone knows him, and the dancing is fantastic! The music is fantastic, this is really a must see in your lifetime. My compliant and only complaint is the price of drinks. My husband and I ordered two wines and a water. $96 dollars. Yes, almost 100 dollars for TWO glasses of wine and a water bottle. WHY WHY WHY!!!! There are no prices listed and my husband being who is felt bad and obligated when they had already poured the wine and was told the price. This is ridiculous and they honestly should be ashamed charging that much. At the end of the show, outside the main character appeared and was signing autographs. This was totally unexpected and so exciting to get her autograph. The theatre could use some updates, but it is a nice theatre, there really is not a bad seat in the house, just small seats.

Great show with top talent! The theater itself was smaller than expected with cramped seating. The bathroom was probably the biggest issue with the line wrapping all the way down the stairs and wrapped back up around.

The current show Chicago is amazing but the theater did not handle my expectations well. First, going to the balcony floor is quite a struggle. Ushers were my not clear which side our seats were located. There was no much leg room in our row, mezzanine center , glad that we were short people and we found our seats alright. Lastly, the line to the restroom was a nightmare!!! For those who came late probably did not make it thru the intermission break. One good thing I have noticed was they were selling drinks on the theater seats. No need to get up to the bar. I would appreciate more though if there were snacks that go with it. Anyway, you can't get it all. Fun show.

The show was amazing. The theater is full of history since it was built in the 20s. There are great accessibility options. I saw an old review stating the drinks were expensive, about $20 a drink. Since I'm from a big city for me $20 is about standard so that is what I was expecting to pay. The prices were not listed anywhere at the bar. I got two glasses of champagne. CHEAP champagne. The cupcake brand which is about $13 a bottle. I PAID $62!! When I asked about the price the bartender was rude and snippy. I will be back to the theater but I will not be purchasing anything from the bar.

I wrote this letter to the theater and the Shubert Organization about an extremely disappointing time at the theater to see Chicago with Ariana Madix as Roxie Hart - the whole point of my trip to NY from MD. My letter is first and their response is second. Their response is just as disappointing as the experience. But, to be clear, this rating is about the theater and not the show. Ariana Madix and everyone were wonderful (at least for the parts I could hear). My letter: "I am writing to express my profound disappointment with the experience I had at the Ambassador Theater during the matinee show of Chicago on Saturday, March 9. I specifically traveled from Maryland to New York to witness this acclaimed production for the first time, particularly to see Ariana Madix's portrayal of Roxie Hart. However, my excitement was shattered by the appalling conduct of fellow patrons, which severely compromised the enjoyment of the performance. Upon arriving at the theater and being seated, there were three empty seats to my left, which were soon occupied by three intoxicated women. Throughout the entirety of the first act, these individuals engaged in disruptive behavior, including loud conversation, texting with illuminated screens, filming and photographing the performance, singing along audibly, and even attempting to mimic the choreography from their seats. Their actions not only detracted from my own experience but also disrupted the enjoyment of those around us. Despite my attempts to address the issue with the disruptive patrons and seeking assistance from theater staff during intermission, the situation remained unresolved. While I was assured that measures would be taken to address the disturbance, such as making an announcement regarding theater etiquette and monitoring the offenders, these actions were ineffective. The disruptive behavior persisted throughout the entirety of the performance, culminating in unacceptable disruptions during the entire performance. I am deeply dismayed that the disruptive individuals were not removed from the theater, as their actions significantly detracted from the enjoyment of the performance for myself and other audience members. As a result, I not only missed the opportunity to fully appreciate Chicago on Broadway but also missed the chance to see Ariana Madix in the starring role, which was the highlight of my visit. My disappointment is further compounded by the fact that this outing was intended to be a special occasion for myself, my daughter, her boyfriend, and his mother. Regrettably, the experience was marred by the disruptive behavior of fellow patrons, resulting in a ruined outing. In light of these circumstances, I would respectfully request reimbursement for the four tickets purchased for the performance, or in the alternative, a raincheck to attend either Chicago or another production at a future date when I can return to New York. I urge you to take this matter seriously and implement measures to ensure that disruptive behavior is promptly addressed to preserve the integrity of the theater experience for all patrons. Thank you for your attention to this matter and I look forward to your prompt response. The theater's response: "Thank you for reaching out to let us know about your experience while attending the March 9th matinee performance of Chicago at the Ambassador Theatre. Your email has been escalated to us by our colleagues at Telecharge. We were sorry to learn of the distractions you experienced while attending the performance. While most theatregoers understand what it is to attend a live performance, there are those who have never been to a Broadway show and may not be accustomed to theatre etiquette. Ejection from the theatre only occurs as a drastic last resort, such as situations where patrons are deemed dangerous to the people around them. In other situations, our Front of House staff will speak to the area and remind folks of courtesy and theatre etiquette, much like how you described our staff did on the day of. All appropriate measures were taken regarding the group. We are sorry to learn you felt you weren't able to enjoy the show, but we're unable to offer you a refund, particularly as you stayed for the entire performance. We realize that this isn't the outcome you'd hoped for, but we hope this information is helpful and we look forward to seeing you again soon in a Shubert theatre. Very Truly Yours, Kayla R.
