I can't provide much information about seating because -- lucky me! -- I snagged second row center seats which are likely different than upstairs and further back in the orchestra. (I love that legend Andre De Shields smiled and made eye contact with me.) Yet another Shubert property, Broadhurst -- named after playwright George Broadhurst -- was built in 1917. The little I saw of the facility wasn't as impressive as other theaters. There's a steep stairway into the basement where the restrooms are. Not adequate for all the theater-goers, though I believe there's a small bathroom on the main floor for those with mobility issues. Staff distributed fans to everyone waiting to enter, which was very cool when used for applause. The "Jellicle Ball" is lively and fun, with spectacular dancing, singing, costumes and makeup. Though I had no interest in the original production of "Cats," my interest in this was piqued when featured on CBS's "Sunday Morning." BTW, if you're eligible to join TDF you might want to look into it to reap deep discounts. If you're visiting from out-of-town, Sardi's, a Broadway institution is directly across the street. Musical: 5 Theater: 4 Happen to score lottery tix for an early afternoon permanence of BOOP! on Sunday 6/8/2025. Unfortunately, that was the same day of NYC's Puerto Rican Day parade. Needless to say we did not make it for curtain call. However, through Telecharge, we were able to get our tickets reissued via the "no scan" policy. Thankfully on Wednesday, 6/11/25 we made it. The "parking Gods" were on our side because we lucked up on parking and had ample time to stop for a bite to eat. The Broadhurst Theatre is a Broadway theater one of many in the Theater District of Midtown Manhattan. Opened in 1917, the theater has 1,218 seats across two levels and both the facade and the auditorium interior are New York City landmarks. I have seen multiple musicals/plays at this theatre the last in Sept 2023 - The Neil Diamond Musical: A Beautiful Noise (courtesy of Yelp). View from seats (orchestra and front row balcony) was great. With the typical tight seats and minimum leg room, I always find the tight seating perplexing, yes people are generally larger in size now than in the 1800's and even early 1900's. However, at that time the arts were exclusively for the elite and wealthy. Historically speaking the women wore dresses with an abundance of layers and excess fabric. Not to mention huge petticoats under their skirts. How did they sit??? Nonetheless, I digress. Now for the show... Betty Boop is a cartoon character, whom originally appeared in the Talkartoon and Betty Boop film series, which were produced by Fleischer Studios and released by Paramount Pictures between 1930 and 1939. Betty Boop based on and inspired by a Black jazz singer named Esther Jones, also known as Baby Esther. Jones's unique "boop-oop-a-doop" style and stage presence at Harlem's Cotton Club were the primary influences for the character's signature vocalizations and overall persona. While Helen Kane, a white singer, who also claimed inspiration from Jones and even sued the studio stating that Betty Boop was modeled after her. The musical goes between the fictional cartoon world of the 1930's and present day. Addressing topics of acceptance, belief in one's self & creative abilities and love. An enjoyable show with great musical numbers that are very kid/family friendly. Just A Note: -Final performance was 7/13/2025 -"No Scan"policy - if you have tickets to a show that you miss. I visited Broadhurst Theatre to see Boop! The Musical on Broadway. This is my second time at Broadhurst; I was there a couple of years ago to see Anastasia. The rep at the service booth was attentive and offered prompt service however, a request of mine couldn't be fulfilled. I've paid the most for tickets of any Broadway theater at this booth and I'm not sure why. After chatting with two people sitting next to me, I learned they got their tickets for $40 less. I was seated in the same exact section I was in years ago (orchestra row G). The views in this sections were top tier so I'm not really complaining. Just one or two rows ahead and the prices begin at $296. If you want great views without paying the next tier, I would recommend this section. Seating at the theater is super tight so be prepared. If you are over 6 ft tall you might have some problems with leg room. The seats are pretty comfortable though so no issues there. The interior, decor and lighting are classically beautiful. Seeing Betty Boop live was so surreal. My icon!! I never thought it would be made into a show and I'm glad they did. I'll admit at times I was lost with the storyline of the show but the choreography and costumes were fantastic. Jasmine Amy was phenomenal in the starring role. Visiting Broadway is always a good idea when visiting New York, and my moms birthday trip was no exception. She loves Betty Boop so I was happy to see the musical showing during our stay. The Broadhurst Theater was a very intimate venue and I absolutely loved my experience. Its location of course it's close to everything including really great restaurants. Bro. The show was great!! However the theater itself lacked any space at all to maneuver. Like, you walk in and the seats are right there. There is no lobby to take a breath, or for people to make a line to get drinks. At intermission, it was sort of frightening at how much we got pushed by people going in literally 4 directions: up to the bar, back to their seat, over to the men's room, over to the woman's room. Would not go back to this theater unless forced. read more

Saw Hills of California and Boop here, which are now both closed. You didn't miss anything special. However, the staff is very friendly and helpful. Was able to get a rush ticket after 10AM and sat in about the sixth row of the orchestra on house right for HOC. Had an unobstructed view of the stage the entire time and a decent amount of legroom. The mezzanine overhang is kinda rough if you sit in the back of the orchestra though, which I did for Boop. Would recommend seeing a show here if you get the chance. read more

I saw BOOP! at the Broadhurst Theatre. The venue itself is beautifully maintained and stands out amongst the many historic theatres lining the street, but visitors should be aware that entering the theatre can be challenging. Due to the proximity of other theatres, the lines and crowds often converge, making navigating to the entrance difficult, especially during peak times. read more

I got a good deal on a ticket via Actor's Equity to see Boop! The Musical last Sunday. Seat was great (Row F in Mezz - see photo for view) and there was room for my legs (I'm tall). Overall a great experience and I like this theater. Note that the bathroom line for women was really long and the first floor was overcrowded during intermission, so I can't speak to the bathrooms as there was no way I could have made it there and back with the overcrowding prior to Act II. read more

This theater like many other BROADWAY theaters has the standard tight seating. My orchestra view was decent and my show (BOOP) was excellent. The thing that marred my experience was during intermission. I had some very aggressive and deplorable concession workers not serve me and almost attacked me. The most belligerent one stated he was a manager, but thank goodness for the house manager. What was initially a small misunderstanding turned into a hate filled yelling and demeaning display. If there was a more formal process, I would have definitely reported those staff members as I have never had a negative Broadway experience; especially getting treats or cocktails. 3.5 stars A few days ago, I watched Boop the musical in this theater. I appreciate the legroom in this theater as well as the calm and cozy vibe. My friend and I sat in fourth row mezzanine, and the view of the stage was impeccable. The show itself was very lively and showcases each of the character's talents. It incorporates movements from the 1900s with more modern cultural acts. All the songs are so catchy, especially the closing score. Costume design was A+ and stage choreography were on point. The storyline was lacking, as I could not fully appreciate the nonsensical plot. However, it was all tied together rather well towards the end of the 2nd act. January 2024 Thursday 7:30pm Show: A Beautiful Noise-Neil Diamond's life story Bought two tickets at the red TKTS booth at 1:00pm for $100 each after standing in line for 30 minutes. Orchestra Row 5 middle seats. We came to the Broadhurst Ticket Window earlier in the day and Orchestra seats were $130 dollars. So waiting in line was worth it. We saw Mama Mia in this theater and already knew it was a smaller theater with bathrooms upstairs. Arrived at 7:05pm and walked right in and down to our seats. There was a guy walking around selling drinks and snacks but we didn't need any. Fantastic cast! So happy that we waited the year to come see the musical. This cast was amazing. Every song, dance, segment was just so entertaining. Loved Deandre singing Shiloh! We had such an amazing time and didn't want the night to end. We had such a great time at the Broadhurst Theater this week seeing A Beautiful Noise! I ordered the tickets a few months ago and my wife and I were really looking forward to the show. Spending the day in NYC prior to the show, during Christmas season, was a fantastic way to spend the day. We've seen other plays at the Broadhurst and it's always been a great theater to go to. The cast for A Beautiful Noise was excellent! Nick Fradiani played Neil Diamond and was amazing! His voice was Neil Diamond's! Spot on! Once you step in the doorway, a few steps forward and you are in. Sound quality is great and it is a cozy feel. We saw a Beautiful Noise (Story of Neil Diamond) at the Broadhurst. Prices for broadway shows have gone up quite a bit since the last time we saw one (obviously), but got the Thursday night tickets for slight discount (paid $120 per ticket). The show itself was OK...loved the music as I knew I would, but the story itself seemed incomplete and not really sure if Mr. Diamond shared everything that he could. It did give a good sense of what his show in the 80's and 90's might have been like, and I was glad for that. The theater was about 3/4 full, and definitely skewed towards his original target audience. I will say that there was a lot of extraneous conversations and not-allowed picture taking throughout the show. It made for good conversation (i.e. "did you see what THEY did during the show?") after the show, but was distracting during it. The theater itself is a fine place to see a show. They let us in (out of the heat), 35 minutes before showtime (8pm). Even though we sat in the corner on the first floor, we could see the entire stage. We found our seats easily, and the sound quality was very good. read more

Came here to see A Beautiful Noise and absolutely loved it! The first time I came, it was through Yelp. I had another friend that one lottery tickets, so how could I say no? The play was amazing and the staff was so sweet. The only thing I don't like about this theater is that it was so hard for me to actually watch the play. I'm pretty short and the person in front of me was clearly over six feet. Unfortunately, this person's head blocked the entire view for me. The other thing I do want to make sure I say is that this place has a bunch of bathrooms that make it easy to be able to take a break during intermission. I would just avoid the orchestra seats. We were thrilled with our last minute seats at Broadhurst Theatre for A BEAUTIFUL NOISE. We were in row J, seats 3 & 5, stage right. We could see everything, and what we saw was fabulous. We had two concerns in this theatre, but they were minor compared to the fantastic production we enjoyed today, Wednesday's matinee on 5/10/23: the bathrooms are downstairs, and the seats are small. I don't know if there is an elevator to the bathrooms, but the stairs were a challenge for me. What about those older or handicapped? The seats were small, and I don't know how someone of large girth will feel sitting in them, but my seat was snug and I am not large. read more

We just saw "A Beautiful Noise", a musical based on the life and music of Neil Diamond. (Right now you're humming Sweet Caroline right now aren't you?) The play was amazing! I have to give it to the Broadhurst Theatre, they really had the best acoustics to give the performance some punch. The stage was large and they had a platform where the star was elevated and brought down. That was pretty cool visually. These old playhouses could be a seating nightmare. I swear, I think everyone was 5'2 back in the day! The Broadhurst Theatre was built in 1917, I'm sure they changed the seats a few times. They didn't consider larger people. My wife said the guy next to her looked so uncomfortable. He had his arms crossed the entire performance. Sorry brah. The bar? You know in advance the cocktails are going to be at a premium price. There is something about seeing a performance and sippin' on some righteous libations. I was impressed with the actual cup design, very creative. What would be nice? My car has cupholders, the next time the theatre gets a retro fit add some built in cupholders. Get on that Mr. Broadhurst ok. Coats? Yeah.. good luck with that. If you're bringing a bulky coat inside, pretty much any broadway theatre isn't roomy enough so you'll have your coat folded on your lap for two hours. My issue with the Broadhurst Theatre? My seat was pretty comfy except there was, it wasn't a step but a small ledge? I got up during the performance and when I came back to my seat, I tripped and fell on the ladies in front of us. I apologized when the lights came on. There are some people with short fuses and might have been pissy. I'm glad they were good sports. Overall, we loved the performance! The cocktails were on point and my seat was comfortable for two hours. All these entertainers from Brooklyn have life stories on Broadway like Carol King and now Neil Diamond. Went here to see the Neil Diamond show - A Beautiful Noise. We did love the show (even though I'm not a huge Neil Diamond Show). You could sing along and even dance in your seat. It was very moving-and I found myself crying at the end of the show. Why? It is about Neil Diamond's life and legacy and how he struggles today with his Parkinson's. It is a true reality -fame and then the decline of the human body. We were sitting in the orchestra and we had a birds eye view of the stage. I know it is an older theatre. This one opened in 1917 and has 1218 seats. It is located on 44th street just west of Broadway. The theatre is named for George H. Broadhust, English playwright. If you do need a restroom, the lines are lengthy. You need to go to the basement to use these facilities unless you need wheelchair accessible and that is on the main floor. If you want wine or water, they do walk around selling "double pours" (which will cost you a pretty penny) - but you figure - hey, it's a night out!! Saw The Neil Diamond Musical-A Beautiful Noise here! Wonderful musical! Small theater. Sound was great! Everyone was hearing the music and singing along! I was sitting on the side and still had good visual of the stage. My criticism of this theater is that the rows and seats are very close and narrow. I am a pretty small 5'2" person. My knees were pretty close to touching the seat in front of me. The people in the row behind me knocked me in the back of the head several times when getting back into their seats after intermission. Saw Boop at the 6/4/25 matinee. Clever, fun and visually entertaining show. However, the theatre continued to let people in even 20 minutes into the show. Through out the show, the staff kept coming into the audience and shining flashlights on people taking pictures of the performance. I go to many shows. I never saw staff so aggressive and disruptive. 20 minutes before the end of the show a very large male staff member brought a wheelchair to the front as the show was going on. He came down 2 times. He was a big man and you could not see beyond him. He was not transporting anyone. It was so distruptive and rude to the actors. People with disabilities should be accommodating but somehow other theatres seem to be able to assist without disrupting the show. read more

A Beautiful Noise was a Wonderful Experience! A captivating look into the life of one of the greatest singer/songwriters this planet has produced! And to enjoy it in the city where he first began was an added bonus. The lead was spot-on as Neil Diamond in voice and mannerisms as I remembered him. And to learn that I share not only being a singer/songwriter myself, but the Parkinson's that's taking it away; it really hit home! Wheelchair accessible located on the Orchestra level). This theatre has a capacity of 1,218. My seat on the aisle in the Mezzanine was comfortable with good sightlines. Came here right before Valentine's Day to watch Anastasia and it was amazing! I really can't complain much about the theater. The lines moved quickly, everyone is very efficient. Ticket check, bag check, ushers, everyone was great. The seats from pretty much every angle are great. We were in the back and moved on over once the show started because no one else was in our row. Though if we had to stay in our original seats it wouldn't have been bad at all. The only downside I can think of is that the bathroom is downstairs in the theater we were in. If you have trouble walking up and down stairs it might be an issue but other than that the bathrooms were clean and stocked. I also highly recommend seeing Anastasia before it's gone! Saw Frankie and Johnny in the clair de lune on Friday night. Half empty theater, definitely surprising. We sat on mezzanine right and the view was pretty great even from the side. The theater is very small and old compared to others on Broadway. Very, very tight seating--your knees will be very uncomfortable the whole night. Men will find it even more difficult to endure in the same small spot for the duration of the show. Two actor show--the namesakes of the play title do an amazing job of acting for two hours. A sentimental show that touches on a variety of life & relationship themes like trust, hope, intimacy, relationships, love, betrayal, hurt, and bravery. Surprising nudity scenes in dimmed lighting, so definitely not a show for kids/teens. read more

Went to see a Beautiful Noise. The show was sold out and the theatre was crowded. They started letting you in 30 before the show, which helped to get everyone seated before the show. They were very efficient doing that. The theater is like most of the older ones, long bathroom lines and having to climb stairs to get to them. I think that they do not have enough slope in the floor, so the person in front of me blocked my view, most of the time. Like all theaters in the area, seats were tight. read more
