I'm starting to not have a great opinion of ambiance, I've been trying gelx. Which they charge the same as acrylic even though the process is quicker, easier for the tech, and the materials are cheaper. How am I being charged for a file and you literally can't put the nail on without doing it. The nickel and dimeing is getting annoying. I really don't like my nails I got. The tech was doing half a job. She wasn't going to clean up the underside, I asked for a new set and she didn't want to do it, she chose to do a fill. She didn't get all of my last polish off so I have a weird green tint on the underside. I had to ask her three times to please make my nails look clean. Like a new set. I came in with one broken nail which she replaced and it's the only one lifting. She didn't cure it completely. The edges are wonky. And she had an attitude because I had to ask her three times to go back and finish filing/cleaning up my nails. I paid and talked to the manager who stood over her while she filed on them for a 4th time. Just so happens that that time she did a pretty good job while her manager was standing over her shoulder. And rolled her eyes. I'm soooooooo over nail salons they are running me off to just learn nails my self. read more

Super crowded. Didn't use fresh, unopened tools. Sister picked this place for pre-wedding nails or I would have ran away just when I saw how crowded it was. Top it all off, the rough spots on me feet weren't sloughed off. What an effing waste of money. read more

I'm not sure what happened here in the last 6 months to a year. Most of the regular techs have left. They are putting extremely inexperienced techs on the floor. I've been a customer over 10 years and I'm leaving. 3 awful manicures. One misunderstood me when I asked him to glue a small break; he cut my long nails down to the quick. I had to ask another tech to explain to him what I was asking. Next person filed my nails so hard , back and forth that they all split that day. Finally found another tech that was great but he only stayed 3 months. I'm sad to say I won't be back. read more

Nikki at Ambiance is the BEST manicurist that I've found in Cincinnati. There is no design that she is unable to do and if she doesn't have all of the supplies she will work to get them for your next visit. I got acrylics done about two weeks ago. A couple days after, the first nail popped off. From there, I had a nail popping off everyday until I just took them all off with extreme ease. I forgot to mention that the nail guy did gel polish on my fingers without asking and I ended up paying way more than I expected. I need to stop going to ambiance. It's nice in theory, cause they have an expansive staff and a bar, but that's really to make up for the lack of quality you get from the actual service. I've been to the one at Harpers Point twice and wasn't super impressed and this one didn't prove to be much different. Granted, everyone was nice and friendly... but I got a basic pedicure and now that I'm how I'm noticing that the polish isn't even on evenly.... it's never going to last and hardly worth the $35 it cost. I have a hard time justifying an extravagance like a pedicure and having it done so poorly just discourages me from doing it again. I'll stick with Eternity Nails in Mason. At least they can put on polish well enough that my nail doesn't show through. Ugh. read more

I wish I could give it 0 stars to be honest. When I moved here this summer, everyone recommended I come here. But every time I make an appointment, the experience gets worse and worse. Today I had an appointment for 12p, and I STILL had to wait 45 minutes!!! The technician they gave me (who was not wearing a name tag) was rude, barely spoke, and burned me multiple times with the hot stones. My only regret was not walking out, because this experience was truly terrible. And I will NOT be coming back. Whatever you do, pick another nail salon...this is not it!! read more

I go here almost every time I get my nails done since I first went here. It's super nice and the workers are awesome and always make you feel good. There's been a few problems. 1. I got a design and they had someone do it that didn't know how and didn't tell me so then I had to come back and just get it taken off because it looked bad and the one that knew how was out. 2 I got my eyes brows done the other day and they are already growing fast. But overall they are amazing. They always do an awesome job and if there is any problem they are happy to fix it. I would definitely recommend this place to everyone I know. I made an appointment with Andy, same day and got in within the hour and no wait upon arrival. They also give you water while you wait or while you're getting your nails done which is nice. Love this place but this last time was AWFUL! I come here every 3 weeks. This time, I wanted to do something different than my normal french manicure. I called for my appointment and the front desk told me they had colors for SNS that they didn't actually have, making me look like an asshole to the nail tech, searching for colors that weren't there. I also asked for gel polish to be taken off when I called for appointment and the nail tech 1) didn't look at my nails 2) didn't ask me what was on them 3) tried to take off SNS and ended up having to sand off my gel polish. He was annoyed and flustered with me and I was annoyed with the whole situation. Numerous times various techs would walk by and whisper to him in Vietnamese and giggle, making me even more uncomfortable. Once home, I realized one of the two tips I needed isn't the same size as my nails, the color is TOTALLY different nail to nail, and the glitter is splotchy and uneven. A child could have done this. I'll be back tomorrow to talk to the manager, hopefully resolve this, and update my review, but I have no problem taking my $50-$100/month habit elsewhere if that's not the case.. :( I hate that I had such a bad experience. I really used to love this place. :( UPDATE! I went back and was told I could get it fixed for free, so I found the ACTUAL colors I wanted and was well on my way to a beautiful set of nails when the original nail tech came and found me and yelled that he had to charge me half price for a color change. While the spa is very nice & tidy and the staff is unbelievably nice, I have to give them 3 stars. I've gotten a shellac manicure from them twice and each time they barely lasted a week. =( I bartend one night a week and clean my (small) apartment regularly so I don't think I'm to blame. I used to go to a different salon in NKY and their shellac manicure would last at least 2-3 weeks (when I was bartending 2 nights a week). I came to ambiance because the salon was bigger and cleaner and staff at ambiance are much more professional. Sadly, I think I'm going to have to find a new salon to frequent because I'm just not getting my money's worth here. read more

The nail attendant tried to confuse me for payment when I kept asking her how much my nails cost and then when I handed what I had calculated myself + more for change for tip, she charged me almost double giving me back $3 for myself when she should have been giving me $22 in change. When I asked what happened to the other money, she yelled at the front desk attendant to give me my other money. It was completely bizarre and the attendant was confused as well. With all of that, the gel manicure starting chipping off my nails a week in and I've never had one chip before! Only peel... I HAVE to get acrylic nails because my thumbnails always split and peel, so it's nice to find a place that I can get an appointment within hours AND that can consistently provide great results. The gel polish rarely chips and if it does, it's usually because I've been cleaning something excessively at home or using my nails as tools I routinely let my nails grow out about 3-3.5 weeks and the staff never makes me feel bad about it. Other places would scold me for waiting so long for a fill in but no one needs that crap! I also appreciate that the techs don't needlessly tell me I need a full set replaced. Again, I've been places before that tell me I need a new set every other time I'd go. My favorite part about Ambiance is that I can call and get a same day appointment for myself and my 10 year old. I'm very busy and forget to make appointments too far in advance so I appreciate being able to get in so quickly. They are also very good with my daughter-thanks! They also sell gift cards- I just got to use the one I got for Christmas! read more

Hate to make a bad review based off of one very poor experience, but this location consistently is somewhat disappointing - but today was one for the books. Teresa was ridiculously rough and rushed from start to finish, seemed upset with me the entire time, didn't listen to what I wanted, and made me bleed in several spots. I was legitimately almost in tears during my appointment and it's hurting to even type this right now. Then she had the audacity to look disappointed with my $3 tip, you're lucky you even got anything from me, I wanted to get up halfway through and leave. Never been so disappointed in a service in my entire life. I will not go back to this location EVER again. Disappointed doesn't even begin to describe this experience. I have been getting my nails done at Ambiance for several years and have always had great experiences until now. I always book my appointments in advance, so per usual I booked an appointment for a full set of acrylics AN ENTIRE WEEK IN ADVANCE. I did it online through their website, and they typical send a confirmation text/email. So, I show up for my appointment and they ask for my confirmation email, because they don't have my appointment down for whatever reason. I pulled up the email, and they said it'll be a 45 minute wait because they don't have my reservation. So, I decided to wait. THEN, they tell me they don't have anyone available to do an acrylic set. This is the worst customer service I've experienced in a long time, and I'm very disappointed in a place that I've enjoyed going to for several years. Such bad business practice. I've tried Ambiance twice now and both times went to Tuan. He was very friendly and helpful but I didn't like the fact they charge extra for "coffin" nails and they're not coffin. I specifically asked for someone that shapes this type of nail and they recommended that he was great! The first time I went, I had a soak off and new set. He was kind of rough but when I asked him to be gentle he complied. When he was shaping my nail it just seemed that he did square. I asked was this coffin and he said yes (which it was not). So I let him continue and when he was finished I was very disappointed, this shape was very much so square. Although I had a bad experience the first time I thought maybe I'd try one more time and explain this wasn't coffin but square. The 2nd time my nails looked the exact they did the first time. And they still charged me extra for the coffin shape (that I didn't have). I decided I'll just take my business elsewhere.
