Please use caution renting here, ive rented numerous lifts with minimal issues but today was a different experience . rented the 55' man lift. Was giving a communication code on and off all day. Ended up quitting working and stuck 15-18' in the air. Called the store they sent 2 mechanics that didnt know how to use the emergency hydraulic release, finally it got communication again and i got it to the ground and loaded. Returned it and asked if there was any kind of discount since i didnt complete the job and was stuck for an hour and Cleve said well its hard to give a refund be you got some of the work done. From now on ill rent elsewhere. Such a shame because i spent $1000 dollars in there today with materials, a new 32' ladder and a rental. Good luck to all read more

Ambridge Do it Best is our favorite place to shop. Not only do they have everything we need for home improvement updates but they also have great niche products. The store's remodel has given more space for a better quality shopping experience. All of the employees at the store have always been great at answering our questions and not just pointing us in the right direction but walking us to the product. This store goes above and beyond to carry a great selection of products. The staff is very helpful and they actually walk you to the product you are looking for instead of pointing to where it is. They have something for everyone and a great selection of Christmas items. And one more thing. Useless employees. My wife went here to buy a couple of porch chairs, which were advertised online and in stock. They wouldn't sell it to her because they said they were in storage in the back and they would have to move too many items to get to it. At least make up a better excuse than basically admitting that you're too lazy to get it for her. read more

Fair Warning: Absolutely do not, in any circumstance, sign up for their rewards program. Any employee with access to a Point of Sale device will have access to your personal information. There are zero safeguards. Normally? Probably not super red flag worthy, but an employee reached out to us on their personal phone several times via text and voicemail, without us providing our number to them directly. Came to find from management (Thanks AJ!), that Do-It-Best was unapologetic, admitting that anyone in their employ who can do POS transactions has access to all information you provided to them for the rewards program. I didn't sign up for that. I think there should be a reasonable expectation that customer information would not be readily available to any store worker that is given the ability to cash you out. Manager laughed it off as, "Well YOU PROVIDED IT. It is MOSTLY PUBLIC INFO. EVERYONE DOES IT. It's our system and it is what it is; we can't do anything about it. Any employee with access to a POS device can see every shred of info you willingly gave"--name, phone number, address, whatever. "Sorry, not sorry. But, we can delete your info now that you know that it's freely accessibly by nearly everyone in our employ!" Thanks, but no thanks. This is an abhorrent breach of trust. The ONLY thing folks accessing a POS device needs to see is unique customerID number and name--full stop. read more

The associates as the absolute worst. They are rude and demeaning. The managers that I've interacted with are absolutely clueless. The store is dirty and they have become less of a hardware store and more of an over priced and cheap tchotchkes than anything else. I will never spend another dime here. A wonderful store that has much more than hardware. I picked up some Steelers book bags for young friends of mine that were most reasonable. And Christmas presents for my family. And wild squirrels friends including ears of dried corn: and tiny pumpkins. It has a great variety and selection that you would expect to find in a hardware store, and so much more. My clerk is very friendly, and bagged all my purchases carefully! And I even found chocolate milk to enjoy at home- wasn't expecting that at all! read more

Ambridge Do it Best is an amazing place! I ordered a sample pint of the paint I liked, got it home and loved it. I went back to the store and bought 2 gallons. When i applied the paint, the color was a bit off. I took it back to the store and Patty, the awesome paint expert, was able to analyze both paint samples and adjust the color exactly. She took the time to explain to me why the sample was a little off. The service there is the best, the prices are good. I could spend hours just browsing in there! read more

rental equip is old and they will not refund you if the equipment breaks. your crew will sit while they try to fix it. mike the manager will lie right to your face and say he credited your account. I had to file a summons with the magistrate to get my money back read more

Rented a two man earth drill to do some post hole digging and I found out that the machine was given to me with bad gas in it. I had to shut down my work crew and take care of the problem by emptying and filling the gas up. I returned the machine the next morning and they were reluctant to to offer me any money back for setting me up with a bad piece of equipment. I won't be back here. read more

Extortion or Denial......those are your options. Do not go there to have any automotive keys cut, period. They will not cut even a door key if you have a chip in your key, rather they try to make you buy their generic chip keys for several hundred dollars when a plain metal key that fits your needs is only several dollars. Go to ANY other place that cuts keys to avoid falling victim to their predatory practices. Having been in the auto industry for 22 years, the excuses they use are outright lies aimed at fear, nothing more. Do not fall for it and waste your money. read more

As I was shopping for outdoor equipment, I noticed this business offered lawn mower repair. One staffer was very enthusiastic in his encouragement to use the service. I brought my mower back the following day, only to be glanced at from two different staffers without acknowledging my presence, let alone stating they would help in a few minutes. The two staffers continued to have a casual chat with another customer for over 10 minutes while leaving me stand at the counter just a few feet away. The female clerk actually walked passed me twice without offering help. Finally, after 15 minutes watching their conversation, I started to walk out of the area when, lo and behold, she asked if she could help me. I politely stated she could have helped anytime in the previous 15 minutes! I've found another lawn mower repair AND another hardware store. read more

Friendly and helpful staff always willing to assist. While most hardware stores disappoint when variety is desired or "odd-ball" items are needed, this store shines. Prices might be a few percentage points higher than some other places (my only reason for giving 4 and not 5 stars), but it's well worth it in the time and energy (not to mention fuel) it saves to not have look elsewhere. read more
