It's an older theater that has been remodeled (two floors). The seats aren't elevated by the row so if someone tall sits in front of you there might be an obscured view. We came on a sunday and there weren't many people so it was great. Reclining seats are bueno and comfortable. Honestly a pretty decent theater - quiet location. read more

I have come here many times for movie screenings. The best thing I love about this location is their large screening rooms with comfortable chairs that lean all the way back. It gives you the feeling as if you are lying down in bed watching a movie. Most of the screenings are usually not filled up so you have your pick of seating even at the last minute. There are several floors available for you to explore. You are located right in the upper west side which gives you great access to restaurants and stores all in walking distance. I was able to pick up food nearby before and after the movie. There even is a bookstore down the street if you have some extra time to spend. I love this AMC and would gladly come back here again for the next movie. read more

This is a 6 screen theater built in the 1980's. They upgraded the seating very nicely with cushy reclining sofa chairs and plenty of leg room. However, the ceiling are low so the screens don't have the height of more modern cinemas. I was constantly disrupted during the movie every time someone opened the doors because light from the hallway would shine into the auditorium. It's very annoying and modern cinemas are designed to prevent this from happening. read more

First of all just finished watching Toy Story 5 in a theater that didn't have AC, chairs on the G line specifically G15 and G16 didn't recline, was uncomfortable the whole time, I am pretty sure there is something dead under the chairs in that area as well because it smells like something is rotting. Never going back to AMC ON 84th street. The experience watching this movie was terrible and ruined everything read more

I'm one of those people who will eventually simmer down that I have to pay $20+ for a really comfortable reclining seat to watch a movie. Given that movies are almost three hours these days - if you do the math it's all good. But im also one of those people who thinks that $20+ a ticket that there should be some care in what the theatre looks like. Went last night and there were stacked boxes everywhere, surfaces were sticky, the bathroom was trashed...maybe we start paying a living wage to employees to motivate them to come work or work while there with such expensive ticket charges...just a thought. This location of the AMC theater has been around for a while now. I do not come to ths location much as it sort of reminds me of the location on 86th and 3rd. Sort of outdated/ theaters seem to need to be updated and hallways too. The people who work here are nice and helpful. There is one concession stand on the ground floor here. If I remember correctly not sure if all the theaters within this theater have reclining seats, but, I know one of them does. The seat in the theater I was in was recliner but it looked a bit worn out/ ripped. There are other nicer AMC theaters in the city that I would much rather see a movie at though. read more

I haven't been to the movies in a while. I was excited to go and see Mission impossible and decided to go to AMC. First I was able to walk on without a ticket as others I saw were as well. I did have a ticket but just walked right in no questions asked. The bathrooms are filthy and the doors for the actual movie theater are so sticky it's disgusting. I will not be returning as they seem to have little upkeep and security. read more

This AMC location had a renovation last decade and it made a huge difference. While the Lincoln Center location is lager and has more screens I try to go to this location when possible. All the theaters have reclining chairs. read more

Place is dirty. My seat was tilted. The soda machines have several flavors watwred down and running out. Orange soda was clear with a hint of Orange. Root beer gave me the shits because they do not clean their machines. read more

My wife and I love going to this theater because on Tuesdays they have 50% off deals for tickets. We love having a scheduled date night to watch newly released movies. There are only 6 theaters however they always have the latest releases. The theaters have about 10 to 12 rows and each seat is a recliner, which is amazing! read more

Somewhat disappointed by my experience here. This was my first time watching a movie in a theater, and it was quite expensive. After purchasing 22 dollar movie tickets and reclining seats, which was a lot for a movie ticket, I was surprised by the state of the theater. For one, the theater room was extremely flat? The view of the screen is very dependent on how tall the people are who are sitting in front of you, which did not play in my favor. Not only was a good quarter of the screen un-viewable, I also purchased reclining tickets. And my reclining seat was not working. I was sitting straight up uncomfortably for a solid 2 hour movie with half the screen being hard to watch. Was not a very pleasant movie experience. The staff was quite nice with my party and I and let us through with no issues. The theater was not very clean (there was popcorn and plastic across the floor), and was quite small in size. Finally, the line for concessions was very slow moving. It seemed like they may have been understaffed, as it should not take me 6 minutes to get a water cup. read more

I bought tickets and came here to see the Bob's Burgers movie, and I loved it! The reclining seats are really comfortable and as a Stubs member/A List member you get access to a lot of good prices and you get to go on the shorter line which makes the movie-going experience a lot easier. Even if you're coming in without those perks, you still get an easy and comfortable experience. I decided to come to this movie theater this week because I have recently seen reviews that the Lincoln Square AMC may have vermin! Apparently there have been mouse/rat traps there in the bathrooms! But this week at the AMC 84th Street 6 theater I saw a mouse or it may have been a smallish rat about 5 inches, crawling in my row in front of me and then slipping into the row of seats ahead!! Yicks, this seems to be a real problem in NYC movie theaters now. I'm sure it's a nightmare to get rid of them because every screening room, full of seats, would require removing, treating, finding and patching up entry ways and then replacing all the seats. First time here since the theater re-opened and remodeled with reclining red seats...Get tickets in advance through the AMC app for quick check in to the theater. Staff is friendly and helpful Restrooms on the main floor along with concession stand. Recommend getting there early to avoid the line for concessions. Popcorn was good to share. Easy to get to as the train station is only a couple of blocks away... would definitely come here to see a movie if in the area more often. read more

I went to go see Air, the movie was a 6.5 but the theater was nice. I went at 6:25pm on a Thursday and only a few people where in there so no lines. And I parked right in front. The theater was clean and tbh I think this is my favorite theater. The seats were nice and cushiony and were also recliners. I like how much space there is between the rows too. Its very cozy. I got a slushiee and pretzel bites salted w/ cheese both were 10/10! The pretzels were fresh and super good. read more

This theater is really starting to slip. The last two times I've gone the movie didn't start until 30 minutes after showtime. No previews no ads, nothing. Just sitting in the theater They didn't turn the house lights off when the film started and the air conditioning wasn't on. They no longer have matinees as well. We're paying more for far less. It's clean and the seats are still good so it gets a generous three stars for that. read more

I ordered online for a food and drink combo to be delivered to my seat. when I paid online it said there was an issue with my order and to try again. I tried again and it charged my card. I then checked my amc account and saw that my order wasn't there. So I then went downstairs to tell the employees what had happened. They said they would give me the pretzel and drink. The girl handed me the drink and started to prepare my pretzel. Then they called over the manager and asked if I had a conformation of the order and I said it charged my card. She said it's probably just a pending order and it would most likely go back to my account and that they would have to charge me for the pretzel and drink.... this was just a really unpleasant experience and wasn't a happy experience. read more

We went to the theater and they automatically hated us. They said that they saw us earlier and they didn't see us at all, we were never there. They automatically profiled us. They kicked us out of the theater and the workers pinned us against the wall when we were stating our case. We tried to leave and a lady came running out and screamed racial slurs and slapped us. We were leaving in an orderly manner and the cops showed up and they fully twisted the story. I would never recommend this theater. read more

Finally lowered my guard and decided to do a movie date. I love how comfy the seats were and that the slushie machine was working lol. I didn't get any bed bugs like others have at other theatre locations. I just hope they pay someone to wipe down the seats. read more

I like this movie theater. It's one of the AMC I choose to bring my children too. Although I had no guidance when first attending this theater. Almost got into a confrontation with someone because I was in the wrong seats. I always remain calm when I'm around my children. It was dark and I had no idea where the letters or numbers were when trying to find my seats After that crazy situation happened and my girls were being a little irritated, they were able to finally enjoy their movie. That's what I was most happy with. I give four stars because the movie theater was kept clean, and the seats were comfortable reclining chairs, and now that I know what to expect I'm sure my girls will have a better experience next time, or we will just have to go further downtown, maybe even the one in the Bronx. read more

I have not been to an AMC in a very long time but really wanted to watch a new release that wouldn't have been shown in my usually movie spots. Seats were very comfortable and I loved the various snack option selection. The seats do recline and they are comfortable. $20 for a movie seems outrageous given the state of the theaters. The bathrooms have overflowing trash bins, the hand dryers are broken, and the floors were sticky. I got carded when I bought a beer. I showed my Medicare card for proof of age. Ridiculous. The butter, topping, on the popcorn smelled suspicious. We went upstairs and there was no signage for what feature was showing in what theater. The signage was programed with commercials touting what could be purchased though. The hand rails on the stirs were alternately greasy or tacky. The movie image was fine. I really like this theater. This should be a 5-star review. BUT I don't know what is going on with their popcorn, but the past two times I've been there it's tastes like it has lighter fluid in it. I'm surprised I didn't leave with food poisoning. I've mentioned it to the concession workers, but they just offered me a new bucket of lighter fluid popcorn. I hope someone fixes whatever is going on, but in the meantime I'll be bringing my own popcorn. read more

This movie theater is standard. There are reclining seats that are comfortable, but the layout of it isn't so great. The seats are all on the same level, so whenever someone in front of you stands up or even leaves the handle up, it would block your view. We ordered half/half caramel and cheddar popcorn; cheddar was very good but the caramel was very stale. TIP: In purchasing food/drinks, they only accept cards or cash. No Apply Pay! If you forgot your wallet, just go on the AMC website and order from their "Express Pickup!" (Apple Pay/Venmo payment works on their site). Went to see The Killing of the Flower Moon. And for the movie's 3hr running time had to hear thru walls the very loud soundtrack to Taylor Swift's concert movie. I bet if Marty Scorsese would be furious if he found out. Afterwards I did ask the manager for a refund and he gave me and a few other disgruntled and disappointed movie goers, comp tickets. So I guess they could earn another star for that. read more

This theater used to be my go-to theater in NYC. For a long time, this was the nicest movie theater in town with leather reclining seats. It was a true hidden gem in the Upper West Side. It's been a few years since I saw a movie here. Typically, I go to the theaters further downtown (AMC East Village). Man, has a lot changed. The seats are dirty, worn, and just look like they have not been cleaned or maintained. The armrest between the two seats was broken and there were so much popcorn stuck all over the place - in between the crevices of the reclining leg area, under the armrest, on the floor, etc. Perhaps I've just been spoiled by the large and clean reclining leather chair theaters in Michigan...But for the price I paid, I definitely do not think this theater is worth it anymore. SKIP IT and go to AMC Lincoln Center instead. read more

This theater has become my go-to over the last few years. A matinee at this theater with lunch afterword is my ideal morning. I specifically find matinees pleasing here, the pricing is more reasonable in the morning, the theater tends to be a bit emptier, and the ads feel a bit less gregarious. The theaters are more difficult to find, with just numbers without little LED signs that have become more common. I love the displays they have downstairs of upcoming movies, they're so fun! The staff at this location have always been so, so kind. At the booth, taking tickets, everything. Just all so nice and kind and willing to joke around a bit and laugh. Food is classic movie theater food, nothing special nothing bad. Of course, the seats are what bring people to this theater. Reclining, red leather, beautiful! I will say, I'm hyper-afraid of getting bed bugs from movie theaters (movie theaters are one of the secret bed bug hotspots, stay safe!) and I've always felt more secure at this theater. It's so clean, well kempt. Some people call this theater complex small, but I think that's one of it's charms, and makes it so they can really thoroughly upkeep the whole space. read more

Never again will I come to this theater. We made the grave mistake of coming here on a Tuesday, when admission and lots of concessions have discounted prices. There was so many loud unruly children and aloof adults accompanying them. The setup of the building is obviously a remodel to fit an older space. Every time a late person came in, the whole back of the theater was flooded with light. So strange. It wasn't just the atmosphere of complete chaos, it was the lack of quality and selection for the purchased concessions. My chicken tenders were served dry, old and hard, so I took them back. I returned them and waited about 10 minutes for fresh tenders and it seems they have a different quality altogether than the other AMCs in the city. The appearance and taste are totally different. Maybe they have different suppliers? The popcorn was a little bit burnt and all of the condiment stations were a wreck. None of the ICEE machines worked and the soda machines were out of 50% of the flavors. Don't get me wrong, I understand places get busy, but this was definitely a situation where overwhelmed is a theme. Tuesday comes every week, and these discount days are old. AMC has become my favorite movie theatre chain this summer! They have amazing ticket deals. You can even find reclinable seats that can heat up! This theatre in particular was small. It wasn't decorated as well as the others I've been to, it felt as if they just threw the cardboard advertisements in random places. The people who scanned our tickets were very nice! That is why I'm giving them two stars instead of just one. My main problem with this theatre is that the popcorn we got gave us a stomachache for the rest of night! They need to make sure to make her batches throughout the day in order to avoid this. read more

The staff here was by far the best experience I have ever had! We had a horror story where everything went wrong for my God sons birthday! We came in panicking and AMC came through to save the day! We didn't have a place to hold his bday party and they were overwhelmingly helpful!
