First, I will say that we purchased our tickets ahead of time to ensure we got the seats we wanted. We got them about 2-3 days beforehand, and it made everything a lot easier. When we arrived, we immediately got into the concession line as we knew we wanted to grab popcorn and some additional snacks. Because we hadn't eaten dinner yet, we also chose to get a pizza to share along with an Icee drink. These two items + a large popcorn cost us about $40 (oof!). So be prepared to spend if you want to snack while you're here. What we wish we would've known before arriving is that you can order your concession snacks via an app! We saw people walking in and going immediately to the "hot food ready" spot where they told the person their number and walked away with their pre-prepared snacks. Had we known this, we could've saved about 20 minutes of standing in line! This is a GREAT tip to remember, y'all! After getting our snacks, we made our way into the theater. Both my husband and I were in awe of the seats!!! All of them had personal "tables" that swiveled, allowing you to get into your seat then pull the little table in front of you so you can comfortably eat your snacks. The cup holders were massive AND, most importantly, ALL seats reclined back to a relaxing position! Not to worry, the row of seats in front of you is so low that when you recline back, you'll still be able to see the entire screen with nothing blocking it. Additionally, the isles of seats were pretty spacious. I got up mid-movie and had very little trouble getting out of my seated row, even with everyone reclined back with their feet up. Also, I wanted to note that they don't have a human that you purchase tickets from - you ca either but them online ahead of time (like we did) or you can purchase them at a kiosk when you first arrive. They do have a customer service desk if you need some help, but just keep this in mind. We live pretty close to this movie theater and look forward to seeing more movies here in the coming months!

I came to watch boosters, a film that thoroughly confused me. I also got some theater snacks( pretzels and plastic cheese). It tasted pretty good, not stale. The seats in the theater were quite comfortable and can recline.

You may have heard about the successful company that helped destroy movie theaters by pivoting to "content" meant to promote purchases of high-end TVs and nice couches. (Related, I went to Best Buy and didn't recognize anything. Is that a thermostat? A stereo? A smart garden hose?) This company was so successful, that after Knives Out was heralded as single-handedly reviving non-Marvel film, its sequel was withheld from the theaters it allegedly saved. (BTW, if you were planning to tell me to watch the amazing 53-part Quibi streaming series about The Golden Age Of Hollywood, don't bother). But after Netflix helped destroy theaters, it did a nice thing. It's one of those ironic moments like the purse-snatcher scene in Jay Kelly. It signed a lease that helped the Paris avoid the fate of the Ziegfeld and a million others, in a world where the AMC theaters that destroyed all the independents have been suffering themselves. So, while it was vile that Netflix thought Roma should be seen on TVs, it was nice of them to show it at the Paris, especially for the unusually vibrant sound. I saw Train Dreams Saturday. I suppose, like the kid in Squid and The Whale, I am a philistine. I wish I could praise its morose existentialism but I'm not quite on board. However, I did appreciate the majesty of the northwestern fires and falling trees in this venue. There was no assigned seating; not sure if this is just temporary, but if they keep that policy I might be obliged to overlook Netflix's evil and upgrade to 5 stars.

I like that manager of Paris theater comes out before the movie to speak to the crowd and telling us to enjoy our experience. Is there a manager here?! So I walk into Theater 1 about 25 minutes prior to the start of my film. It was dark. Seats aren't marked. I fiddled with my phone to figure out my aisle. Five minutes later more people arrived. Still limited visibility. They too, couldn't find their seats. One eagle-eyed patron noticed the carpet where -- aha! -- the aisles are marked. The screen finally illuminated with the usual ads and coming attractions. No sound. Grr.... I give the place three stars because the screen was large and once there was sound, it was relatively comfortable. Plus -- no reflection of the venue -- the movie was good!

The cashier was incredibly sweet, patient, and accommodating. She even took pictures of us and asked someone else to take additional photos so we could all be in them together. She truly deserves recognition for her kindness and customer service. We were there for the May 1st The Devil Wears Prada event and had our special themed T-shirts on, which made it even more fun. The staff member also went out of her way to separate the popcorn for all three of us, which we really appreciated. We ended up with great seats and an unforgettable experience. On the schematic it appears the last row is the row to pick .... but once inside theater 3, I realized it's far back in relation to the size of the screen. (I so prefer the old-fashioned method of sit-where-you-want.) Recliner seats are comfortable, although shabby. And the place seemed clean enough. If your schedule is flexible, save money by going to a morning show, applicable even on weekends. A little aside, which has nothing to do with my review: in the mid-eighties, a date and I were in this theater watching a Melanie Griffith film. Great visit to the Museum of Moving Image…read more Finally made it over to Queens to visit the Museum on a Thursday during their Free Thursdays (2pm - 6pm). General admission prices are $20 for adults, $12 for seniors and students and $10 for children. Tickets are NOT required for their Free Thursdays, but are required for all other days. The museum is conveniently located just a few blocks away from the Steinway M/R subway stations. There is also street parking in the surroudning area. The first floor has a large tabled cafeteria area which sells lots of cafe-style items. There is also a courtyard there. So many interesting movie and TV-based exhibits throughout the museum's second floor. Great explanations of and insight to the film-making process. The make-up/prosthetic area was particularly interesting which currently features "The Exorcist". There is also a great current exhibit on the Sopranos, diving into the making of the hit television series, taking you through some of its iconic locations. The Jim Henson exhibit was also great and takes you through his decorated career and his contributions to various shows like Sesame Street and the Muppets and movies like The Dark Crystal and Labyrinth. The third floor contains the technical "making of..." exhibits. It takes you through the cameras, lighting and sound capturing throughout the years. There are some great interactive exhibits on this floor. I was only there for about an hour and a half and found myself running out of time on the third floor. I would easily plan for a 3-hour or so trip to read and experience everything...including maybe a bite at the cafe and some relaxation in the courtyard.

I loved seeing things like the movie cameras that have been used over the years. Very fascinating. The one downside is that it can be really crowded sometimes. This is especially an issue with the interactive stuff. There were huge lines to see some of the interactive things. Made it a bit of a chore getting through the museum at times. Overall though, definitely recommend checking it out.

I like that the center is laid back and they have some really fun ways to engage the community. They offer a ton of activities and show a bunch of different movies throughout the year. I wish I had found the center years ago. They really do cater to all types of interest in the Irish culture.

I love the activation of public space for communal peaceful gathering and introduction of foreign and lesser known films for public audiences. Also, how can you resist free cultural films on beautiful NYC summer nights?! Many of the venues are on cement or concrete- so bring something padded to sit on (folded yoga mat?) or a low seating chair and just be courteous of the height of your chair relative to the people around you (in other words- put those higher chairs toward the back please!) Some venues offer grass that make a blanket more appealing or easier to work with. Bring your own picnic basket boo boo, or grab some take out on your way to the park!
