Over a decade after I first set foot in AMC Aviation the theater is still one of my go-to theaters in the area. It only takes me about 20 minutes to get there from Elizabeth and there's always ample parking (though on days with a big movie opening you may have to walk a bit across the lot). This place may be over ten years old, but the owners have kept it clean and the structure is not deteriorating. Even the exterior looks like they clean it every now and then! The theater has made some changes over time. They now sell merchandise including plushes, keychains, t-shirts and of course the very popular "buckets" that various movies are putting out. This location also tends to give out merch with certain premieres (ex: for "Transformers One" they gave out a free comic book). They also have Freestyle Coke machines which allow you to create drink mixtures (which I really enjoy doing). AMC has also changed one of its theaters into a Dolby Theater with plush, reclining leather seats and a large screen with a wonderful sound system that is fantastic! The staff at this location rotates quite a bit so it's hard to make a general statement that the staff is great, but what I will say is that whatever training they're doing it's being done well because the staff is always helpful and they deserve kudos for that. I'm really glad this theater's quality has not dropped. If you're in the area and want to see a flick, this is a great place to do it. read more

Went to see nightmare on elm street. Movie time was 7:00. Ordered my food at 6:48. Finally got someone's attention at 7:00 about not getting my food. And I see three people scramble behind the counter. I get my food 5 min later after I watched them make it. They said they through in an half order more for the inconvenience. Definitely not up to AMC standards. We went on a Saturday night, 11PM show. Sure, late Saturday night, the end of a long, busy day so maybe I should cut them some slack? Um, every Saturday night is busy and they rake in the dough, so no slack. --Bathroom was disgusting. --IMAX is supposed to be a giant screen. This screen was at least 30% smaller than the IMAX down Route 1 in New Brunswick. --Hey, IMAX $25 a ticket and there's not even recliners? --And, unforgivable, I got a large popcorn and 1) it wasn't filled, and 2) it was like the bottom of the barrel. Very disappointing. --The employees. Seemed like they couldn't care less. Again, maybe the end of a long tiring day but when going out for entertainment smiling, engaging employees are what I'm looking for. Please note that I've come here a total of 3 times due to the fact that they have an AMC XL screen but I think I'm going to have to find me a regal theater because this place is DIRTY! Every time I go I'm peeling my feet off the floors. If there was an award for the world's stickiest floor they would win. I enter the theater I go to sit down my seat is filled with popcorn. This is our favorite AMC. We only watch here exclusively because of their Dolby theater. The best time to watch is before 12noon to get the best deals. Dolby normally offers 20-30% during morning to noon showtimes. Another trick that we do is we do the A-list subscription around the summer time when all great movie line ups come out. We do it for 3-4 months and we maximize the usage by watching up-to 5 movies a month. Overall AMC in Linden is clean and employees are nice. Nothing special but the location is really close to us and you can easily go some grocery run after the movies too! read more

Came here to watch a movie. It's been a minute. The chairs were uncomfortable and the refreshments didn't look very refreshing. The 3 people working didn't seem in a hurry to make any popcorn or clean up. Bathrooms could use some attention too. Won't be returning to this location to watch any movies any time soon. read more

I don't really recommend this part articular movie theater due to the fact that the seats are fabric and yucky. The Slurpee that I got had a taste of mold that I had to return and change for it actual soft drink however, based on movie selections, they have a great selection of movies at all times you are able to find movies that are not going to be found in other larger movie theaters for instance the Godzilla movie that wasn't shown everywhere was shown there. For this reason alone I think it's an OK place unless you can find a better one cleaner one, but if you just want to see a movie that you won't find elsewhere this is the place that you can do that. read more

I love watching movies there especially Dolby. Those are the best. I always go to the one in Linden on Edgar Avenue.

I like this theater. Plenty of ticket machines. Food counter have decent amount of snacks. I'm trying the salted pretzels this time. Theater is clean and people are considerate. I know that everyone wants to get back to normal but come on. Went this weekend to see Spiderman and was so uncomfortable with how packed the theatre was. The concession areas were dirty and nasty. This is one of my local faves to go see a movie. I like it because it's not crazy and ghetto like Jersey Gardens . It's not that busy the times I've gone and it more clean than most AMCs. Occasionally there will be times when it's crazy and messy and that that's usually when it's packed - like weekends etc Movies past 4 are like $14 bucks for a regular movie . Super surprised. I only come to movies if there is something I really want to see and can't wait till it comes out on cable etc Plenty of parking . The only thing I dont get about some theatres in other states (Im From Boston), all the places up near me you pick your seats when you purchase your tickets so there isnt that moment of people with no class or tact that like knock you down to get a seat... When we got into the theater, it was a complete mess. It was just a mass of people and the lobby echoes the sounds even louder in there. There was a long line for concessions that wasn't actually within the ropes. I didn't know where it even ended so I walked right by it. When I got to the employee looking at tickets, he didn't even scan my virtual one. He seemed a bit frazzled and definitely may have needed more help there. The IMAX theater here is a good size. However, the chairs are quite outdated now. The leather is falling off. And it's very easy for the row behind you to just kick your chair throughout the film. People also rudely had their feet up on chairs constantly. Disgusting. This isn't your living room. Also, I go to movies a lot and the volume was just way louder than usual. On top of that, for the first few trailers, every thing had a yellow tint to it! I'm not sure if I'd be returning honestly. I much prefer Menlo Park! read more

DO NOT GO TO THIS MOVIE THEATER! don't waste your money in this place! Its the most disgusting place i have ever been to. I paid $63 for imax tickets for me and my parents and the seat cushions were open, the filling inside the cushion was out, all of the seats in the theater looked exactly like that, garbage and soda all over the place, kids running and crying all over the place. I lost my wallet at a showing and I called them. It took me more than 30 calls to finally get in touch (and I don't care about that, I understand that maybe they were short staffed and busy) but when I asked if they would look behind the specific seat I sat at (I was watching IMAX so we all had assigned seats) they returned back with "no we couldn't find it" even though I gave them FULL DETAILS as to what the wallet looked like and all. It was only that I persisted and insisted to go there personally to see that it was sitting plainly on the floor behind the seat I was sitting at the night prior. They never looked. It was so obvious. And to add, the IMAX seats were torn, the one I sat in had holes. Don't waste your money on IMAX. The seats are literally so much better when you just buy plain tickets. read more

I don't know why I keep coming to this crowded theater... With Menlo park not too far I recommend paying a few extra bucks to enjoy your movie. This theater is inside the aviation plaza with restaurants, target and a shoprite right next door. Many young crowds come here and won't let you watch s movie without them being loud. The employees are everything but friendly! I don't re comedy coming here but if you do, come during the week it is much emptier and quiet. You will find parking right in the front lot. read more

Came here from Staten Island on a Sunday night because it was the only theatre playing Rogue One after 11:00 PM around the area. With that said, the theatre was near empty around this time. The cashier selling the tickets was very friendly and gave a solid review of the movie that I was going to watch. The actual theatre is pretty mediocre. The theatre was very large. I wasn't a fan of the ledge with the cupholders between the seats. Even when you lift the separator up, it protrudes from the top and makes it uncomfortable to sit closer to the person next to you. The theatre was also SO COLD the entire time. I'm not sure if this day was just particularly cold or if they lower the heat closer to closing time, but I definitely wasn't able to enjoy my movie as much due to how cold it was!!! I had to use my jacket as a blanket and was still freezing. The ground was also sticky. When I dropped my 3D glasses, I picked them up and definitely touched some other odd things on the ground. Overall this theatre, for 2 3D tickets, was ~30 bucks. Not sure if I would consider that expensive or cheap, but I think that there are definitely better theaters out there with similar pricing. I frequent this theatre quite often, mainly because it's close to home, but what is there really to say about it? It's a typical AMC Theatre , it has great moments and it has horrible moments, the last 2 occasions were great. It's usually very clean the food prices are high as in all movie theaters, but on a positive note.... I just signed up for the Stubs A-List plan where you get to see 3 movies a week for $19.95 a month. Trust me I will get my moneys worth plus some. Even if I go to the movies once a week , that's still a savings even at matinee prices. I know I sound like I work for AMC, but I don't, I just feel like I should share the savings, there are some stipulations, but I read every line of the contract and feel it's worth it for me. You will see quite a few movie checkin from me going forward, but over all this theatre is pretty good, not good enough for a 5 or even a 4 star rating, at least not until I see consistency in the experience. read more

I've only been to this theater once, on a Wednesday, and everything was very nice. The sound quality was good, the seating comfortable, the theater and bathrooms clean. I have two complaints: the pretzel bites were cold and stale and they did not taste good. Even the lukewarm cheese it comes with did not help to mask the dried texture and the theater was freezing! I don't mean the heat was turned down, it was more like they didn't turn it on at all. I had to wear gloves, scarf and hat and finally used my husband's jacket as a "blanket". I get that the were only a handful of patrons seeing a movie on Wednesday, but the heat situation is just unacceptable. Management, please turn on the heat next time! read more

I can't really say anything bad about this AMC. Almost all AMCs are the same...what it comes down to is environment and usual clientele. The last 20 times I have been here was matinee time...so, I haven't experienced it during 'ordinary moviegoer time' hours in a while. But I don't think it was bad. One time they played the wrong movie in our theater and gave us all vouchers...AND they got us the right movie. So management does know the meaning of customer service.
