10/10 recommend this place! What a fab cinema in the Williamsburg neighborhood. It has that vintage look and feel. The seats are super comfortable, and the service we received at our seats was incredible! It's a pretty small theatre so you'll have to book your seats a bit in advance. Their food options looked good as they have a full food and drinks menu. We went with the usual popcorn and Diet Coke, and we added a root beer float to that. It was sooo good! The vanilla ice cream they used in the float was divine!! They also serve popcorn in a steel bowl, so it feels quite homey. Seats are very comfortable. Too comfortable lol, I fell asleep during our late night show. All in all, it's a vibe, and I highly recommend it! read more

First time at Nitehawk. It was a decent experience. We had a private theater for an event. The staff were attentive. Their food menu is pretty extensive. I had the cheese plate which was good, but pricey at $26 for a small plate. I also had caramel popcorn as well as a mocktail. The theater seats and tables are not as comfortable as Alamo and I wish they had arm rests. There's minimal bathrooms upstairs so a line builds up quickly when a movie lets out. I've been here quite a few times but most recently I saw a Q&A for the directorial debut of The Assessment. The food options are really good here. I usually opt for a beer or wine instead of a cocktail. I've tried a couple cocktails, and they were just okay. The burger and the chicken sandwich are great, I recommend them both. I also love that they have themed menu items for new movies. They don't have reclining chairs and the seats are pretty small and close to each other. I like that they screen a mix of new releases, indie fan faves, and some obscure repertory films. Coming to watch a movie here feels a little less soulless than watching them at the multiplexes with sticky floors and overpriced snacks. No couch recliners here but the seats are totally adequate and you're likely mainly at Nitehawk for the in-theater dining with waitstaff and an actual food and cocktail menu. The food and drinks are actually several levels above what you'd expect from a theater, and they sometimes even create themed drinks for major releases, which is fun. I generally prefer dining and watching tv/films to be separate activities because I don't like mindless eating but as a novelty activity maybe once a year I'll come to Nitehawk or Alamo Drafthouse. read more

Rarely are there ever any real concerning issues with this nitehawk but y'all come on. Lately foods not above lukewarm and is overall lacking. If you run out of an ingredient then let the customer know don't just wing it then pretend that's how it's suppose to be. But most of all don't rush to serve barely lukewarm food (and please stop serving bone dry grilled chicken). Huge no. I love this theater for the small rooms, usually delicious food, and drinks (see yummy cocktail pic:). I always write a note and leave them on the items I absolutely loved or can't consume which normally it gets addressed properly. This time around I was made to believe a lettuce wrap, which only had the beef and kimchi, was part of my cold meal (damn it if I didn't get gaslit because I just dropped the issue since its never ok to talk during a movie). However no where was it listed in the menus, online or the physical one, that the flour tortilla would be substituted with a lettuce wrap and items would be omitted. Overall still the best dine in theater in the state, so far, and 100% better than all AMC/Regal. read more

My second home in the winter! I really love this place. It's one of those experiences that reminds you how lucky you are to live in Brooklyn! I LOVE the claymation intros they have before every movie. Such a cute and unique experience. They also have wonderful food, I recommend the nitehawk popcorn (truffle and citrus butter) and the queso! SO good!! The regular food is also outstanding. I've tried the chicken tenders and burger and they are also great choices. Much better food than you'd expect from a movie theater! Last but not least they have great drinks and drink specials at the Lo Res bar downstairs. I always come for wine Wednesday. Half off bottles! This is the only theatre I go to now. I don't normally review movie theatres but I felt I had to review this place. Very easy to find, I got there early enough before my movie to get a decent parking spot about a block away. All the staff was friendly and helpful. What was really cute and fun was that before the movie, (I saw A Complete Unknown) they had old videos and commercials featuring Bob Dylan. The food was pretty good, however, could have used a little more light in there so I could see my food and not make a mess of myself lol. Seats were comfy but not reclining. If I feel like taking a drive, I definitely would consider seeing a movie here again. read more

Visited on Saturday night with reservation. The reservation can be done online. This one is located close to l train, bedford Ave stop ~10 min walking distance. Plenty of street parking is available too. This movie theater is one of the most hipster theater I have been. Very retro-feel interior and exterior design. Loved their atmosphere with mixed modern and retro designs. There wasn't any person for direction, but it's pretty easy to navigate yourself. Make sure to arrive a bit earlier to find the room. The phone signal gets cut off on theater room 2. Be sure to screenshot your ticket. When you sit down, the server will come to check your ticket and take order. Ordering is very simple. There are paper and pencil. You just need to write down what you want. Food quality is very impressive. Semi fine dining experience. It is pricey as compared to other dining movies, but I think it is worth that price. I was very happy with the food. read more

Local cinema similar to Alamo drafthouse with limited screenings. There's a bar and kitchen available for ordering before/during screenings. Also events hosted here often. The seats in theater 2(located in the basement) are upgraded. Reminder this cinema is petite. Despite it being a premium cinema, can be a but sparse for tickets. Worth it since it's more controlled and comfortable. There's multiple restrooms upper and lower levels. You have to choose seats for dining services and present tickets. Yet, theater 2 has glitchy service and no WiFi since its basement level. Best to screen shot email confirmation. I like how my group server took our food order after the movie started. They always mention to write orders on note after reviewing the menu under table. There's vegan options available. I ordered the coconut oil popcorn, which was good, but I think it was real butter or couldn't tell. You must have a card to put on file before ordering. Please don't chat at the theater, it mentions every time before screening. The staff will act accordingly. People attend dine in theaters for elevated controlled experience. Let's keep it that way. Me and my boyfriend enjoy going to Nitehawk for date nights and always have a great time. Both the Williamsburg and Prospect Park locations are fantastic, prospect park has a larger theater and offers more movie selection, whereas the Williamsburg location is smaller and more intimate. They have a large drink/food selection and a very fun and easy way of ordering, you just write down your order on the paper provided for you and prop it up until a server grabs it for you. The previews before the movie are always fun and silly, they have some homemade trailers and a hilarious informative short. I also really enjoy the prospect park location, because it's right near the park and we have the opportunity to walk around and relax if we are early to a movie. read more

Full disclosure: I'm a sucker for arthouse theaters. Nitehawk Cinema was right up my alley. Nitehawk is a neat dine-in theater with two locations: Prospect Park and Williamsburg. I stumbled upon the Williamsburg location and had SUCH a great experience. Nitehawk's menu features fresh, local ingredients inspired by the movies they're showing. I kept it classic with a Root Beer Float, Popcorn with salt and butter, and Queso. Everything we ordered was excellent and the service was quick and efficient. Overall Nitehawk is an incredible spot to see a movie and a great way to kill some time in Williamsburg! read more

Hands down my FAVORITE movie theater in New York City! I have been going here for the last 10 years and I can't recommend it enough. Great food, great cocktails, excellent service... and the BEST selection of movies. I love seeing older movies on the big screen, many in 35mm, with amazing programmers and intros (Desmond and Shay are a couple of my faves). Nitehawk plays such a good selection of old classics (Hitchcock, Kubrick) modern classics (Tarantino, Spike Lee) but also cult classics and forgotten gems (I saw Cool World here, wow!) This place is too cool. Straight upstairs like your buddy's apartment you go esp if you'd been there before and know which theater number. Seats were comfy with a good view. Best part? I've been going to Nitehawk for years and the food's usually good but today I ordered an impossible cheeseburger that was so burnt it was inedible. It looks like whoever made it cooked it with the cheese directly on the grill, making it rock hard. I didn't know what to do. This theater is SO SHITTY. I literally went to the theater and someone was in my seat. Come to find out my ticket was INCORRECTLY CREDITED by a guy that doesn't care about his job named Eduardo. Given that the error was on the theater and they REFUNDED MY TICKET WHEN I DID NOT ASK FOR A REFUND OF THAT TICKET-- they then refused to give me a full refund to the original form of payment. Thanks Eduardo for NOT DOING YOUR JOB PROPERLY AND WITH DETAIL and for wasting my time. I also literally went to the theater in 20 degree weather only for the manager on top of it to simply NOT CARE. He said that he can't issue refunds to the original form of payment EVEN THOUGH IT WAS the cinemas FAULT- shitty place, shitty service, shitty management. I also ended up not even seeing the movie because someone booked the seat after my ticket was incorrectly refunded. Still going strong after all these years, Nitehawk is one of Williamsburg's most precious spots. Every movie theater who can now serve alcohol owes NH a huge thanks. They have first run features, but make sure you catch a brunch screening of an older film, or a midnight movie, it's so well curated, it's always so fun. The pre-show films continue to be artsy and hilarious. Their cocktails (especially the old-fashioned, and the Fire Walk) are great, and the food (and popcorn) are great too. I also think their bar downstairs, Lo-Res, is a nice date spot, or a great place to just meet a friend, inside or out. Follow them on IG, they have a great account, and are very good about keeping their patrons updated on their ever-changing programming with their fun and clever (and seasonal) themes. This cinema has interesting original programming and an interesting way of integrating food at fairly reasonable prices served at your seat. HOWEVER, theater 1 has a row of seats, called row 16 which are in fact at the front of the theater. They are so close to the screen that you have to look straight up for what is at best a distorted nearly anamorphic view. If the only available seats are in row sixteen (a number like 1601, 1602, etc) I wd advise looking for another screening or another venue. I don't think you will be happy unless you are pretty high or enjoy this kind of optical distortion and physical distress. There was clearly some design error in building or designing this theater and rather than eliminate this row the owners chose to create a row of seats which are basically torture devices. It gives one pause about what other errors or measures of economy they made in creating this venue. read more

I think I've found my new top choice for movie theaters in NYC. I'm often afraid of smaller theaters because many of them are old and run down without great theaters, but Nitehawk was quite the opposite. The staff were friendly and great at their job. I love the way that they craft special cocktails and food items for the movies. The verse jump drink I ordered tasted great and really seemed to fit the movie well. Sadly the other drink I wanted wasn't available this evening. Additionally the theater itself had great viewing angles from mostly all the seats. Rob SUPER AMAZING bartender funny charming, and as far as customer services goes he went beyond. Prior to the screening he was made an amazing rum and coke with both light and dark rum.YUM! Then I went to view a Quiet Place 2. Knowing they wanted to limit verbal orders I printed out my VERY specific order for meal and drinks. My server (name unknown) tried to overcharge me when I asked for salad with my burger she brought me fries with my burger $16 and charged me $12 for a nitehawk salad. Yes the burger was ridiculously delicious (perfect medium well compliments to the chef) but I never touched the fries i did not want. When I pointed it out to blond french braid woman she shrugged "oh well' and charged me for both anyway. When I went downstairs to use the bathroom Rob saw my face and could tell I was annoyed. He asked me what was wrong and when I explained he excuse himself and returned to say he had the salad charge taken off. Love you Rob! I'll be back to overtip soon. read more

Nitehawk is one of my favorite movie theaters. They get so creative with the intros to each movie, the special movie nights they host, and the food menu is really good quality (high marks for their veggie burger (4.5/5)!). It's just a fun place to be around! Note that movies tend to sell out during peak times, so buy tickets early. I believe they just started doing assigned seating so that might alleviate the need to get there 30+ min before the showing. read more

One of the best cinema I have ever been!! Their auditoriums are very small but extremely cozy. There is a table assigned to every two seats. Anytime during the movie you can order drinks or food!!
