A decent movie theatre by the seems to be in a dead or slow mall. It's hard to tell from Rt 18 where the theatre is, since it's behind the mall. The theatre is nice, with small screens and not too many chairs, so it did not feel cramped. The sound can be improved. We got popcorn, which was okay. The chairs reclined, so it was comfortable. Overall, you can tell the theatre has aged. I think they might need to revamp this place or put more light on. I'm not sure I would come back here. I would rather go to the larger AMC on Rt1 instead, if I were living around here. read more

This is a nice theater and well worth the visit. It's not new, but clean nice and the seats are cozy. It's also never too crowded.

It's a nice theater dated. The mall was attached to is closed when we walked in and noticed there was trash everywhere I said to the kid taking our tickets about all the garbage that was thrown all around the front. He said it was because the mall took the garbage cans away. There was plenty of garbage cans inside where they could've put one outside and if I was told that as an employee, I would've had someone go outside and clean the front of our establishment to make it look more inviting for guests, but I guess children today when you give them jobs they don't either know how to react or Care the young ladies behind the counter giving out the concessions were sweet felt bad. The one girl was sick. I asked her why didn't she go home? She said it was a blackout date and that no one could call out. I think that's absolutely ridiculous if you don't feel good, you shouldn't be handling food or beverages to start. You could get other sick and I always thought it would be better to spend a couple days home and feel better then feel miserable for a week or better. The seats in their reclined, but weren't the most comfortable overall, I would give it three stars just for convenience to our home and it's not being too crowded. read more

While AMC Brunswick Square was once my go-to theatre growing up, it has unfortunately become pretty run down. First off, walking in, you can tell the fixtures and furniture around the place are pretty beaten up. Their little arcade barely has anything to offer. The snacks here are what you can expect for the average movie theatre, and employees are pretty nice and quick with service. However, this theatre lacks where it matters the most. The picture quality is mediocre compared to other updated theaters. I have also attended a movie in the past here where the audio quality was completely off. Additionally, their smaller theaters feel pretty cramped. The main draw I have to AMC Brunswick Square is their reclining seats -- but it unfortunately does not make up for all of the other issues. read more

Clean theater with ample seating (not very comfortable) and decent picture and sound quality. The ticketing process was self service but smooth (a bit of a wait) Concessions were a bit pricey (as expected), and a slow moving line. Overall a good spot to catch a movie, just wish the lines moved a bit more quicker! read more

This place is in dire need of a renovation. Three times in a row we got broken seats that did not recline. The staff was called but wasn't able to fix because they can't disturb the rest of the audience. The first time there were no other seats available other than the very front row which the person decided to go to. Second and third times, we didn't want to break up our group so we just suffered on the non reclining seat. Some of the top of seats looked tilted to one side. Came to see Wicked part I here and it was not what I expected. The theater looks run down and it is definitely in need of a renovation. I didn't like that the seats were not reclinable and were stacked up one against another. With an energetic 4 year old it was impossible for her not to kick the chair in front of her as it was literally right on top of us (no exaggeration). The film was super long , 2 hours 40 minutes and with no reclining seats it was rough. The movie was great and the sound was good. I liked that they had a popcorn and drink sale where you got a small popcorn and drink for $7 . Overall , there was a lot of parking and they seem to have a lot of auditoriums but I don't think I'd come back unless I couldn't find a showing elsewhere. It's too crammed in there and I don't like not having the reclining seats. Please consider updating the seats for a more comfortable and enjoyable experience. read more

We went to the theater after an absence of about 2 years. The chairs were new and the theater spotless. Our experience was very positive.

Note to AMC management: Close down or renovate this location. I only chose this theatre location because my family wanted to see Marvel's Wakanda Forever on its opening weekend, I wanted to use my AMC Stubz account rewards, and all other AMC theaters in my area were already sold out. But now, I totally understand why other theatre goers prefer other AMC locations as their first choice to see a blockbuster movie. You don't smell it when you first walk in, but I noticed there was a slight stench in the air as we traversed the narrow corridors toward our theatre #13. The hallway is a mini maze that smells like "Old de toilette" similar to an old billiards hall or bowling alley. Theatre 13 is very tiny, but we were already aware that this was the situation going into the theatre because we had to reserve our seating when we purchase our tickets on the AMC app. (Note: Theatre 13 seats approx. 20-25 people at most). What we hadn't counted on was the meager conditions of theatre 13. The headrests on the reclining seats were rubbed off either because of friction from peoples heads or due to AMC's rigorous cleaning protocols; the wishful thinker in me is hoping that the latter is true. The seat reclining angle is just short of adequate. After the first 60 minutes of the 3+ hour movie, I realized that my seat was uncomfortable, as I found that it was difficult for me to settle into a good neck position. Also, at some point the room's climate control became an issue. All of a sudden, the room became warm and stuffy which made it difficult for me to stay awake. I was fanning myself with a hair bonnet that I wore into theater. By the way, if you're thinking this, NO, I did not have the meat sweats and, NO, I am not pre-menopausal. I have a thing for bathrooms and this theatre was a pure dee let down in that area. The bathroom nearby, closest to theatre 13 was like a coat closet. It has two tiny stalls and the tile-work is cracked and dated. But at least it was stocked with TP, toilet liners, and soap, so I shan't complain. Back in theatre 13, the audio and picture quality were excellent but not enough to overcome the other deficiencies I noted. I'll keep this theatre in mind as a distant last resort for my movie ventures going forward. read more

We watched a group fill a row and two of the seats were beyond broken. A worker came in to look at it and the back of the seat was completely detached from the rest of it. (We were in theater 6-I see other reviews mentioning it is small, lesson learned on that) you mean to tell me whoever cleans the place couldn't see the blatantly obvious broken seats? Went to see Mean Girls with my daughter. The tickets were cheaper than the food. She had popcorn and soda, I ordered pretzels and water. Pretzels are usually a staple when we go to this theater but I don't know what the deal was today, but they tasted like plastic. Oh boy, where to begin. I grew up coming to this movie theater. Was in town today so I figured I would stop by to see a movie. Upon walking in there was a bunch of staff standing there no one greeted me. I figured out how to do the kiosk on my own. I visit at the women's room which was a complete mess, there was toilet paper and trash all over the floor, stores were out of toilet paper. The theater itself was clean but my seat did not recline, it was broken. I saw a man sitting at the other end of my row try to recline his chair which also did not work and he got up and switched his seat too. Clearly they had not checked to see if all the seats were working properly. Then half an hour into the film a man walked in to the theater while talking on the phone and sat down and continued his phone conversation WHILE THE MOVIE WAS PLAYING. I left the theater to go report him to someone. Clearly no one stands outside seeing someone enter the theater so late. It was a good 10 minutes until any type of staff came in to inquire and they just stood by the side watching. Nothing was said to the man and by this time he then finally hung up his disruptive personal call. I just feel like this place really has gone downhill. Very disappointed.. We looked online to check the allergen menu and saw that the cinnamon sugar pretzels were vegan, we tried ordering and the guy said only the impossible nuggets were vegan. Why have a non inclusive menu with false information? We went to our movie and other people were sitting in the seats we bought, when we asked them to move they rolled their eyes- i know thats not the movie theaters fault but there could have still been preventable measures. First time coming here and I love it! I thought amc dining theatre was awesome but this place is better. No, it's not a dining theatre but their reclining seats are so much better. You can literally lay down watching the moving! The best part of it all is purchasing assigned seats so no need to rush to the movies to grab seats. The seats are also wide with ample space for everyone and even their personal things like jacket or handbag. The place is small and located inside the mall. It is clean. As we were leaving, two staff members came inside to wipe down the seats and clean the carpets. Out the theatre, there's a small arcade area to pass time and keep the kids busy. Nathan hot dog fast food and a couple of tables and seating are also available. Staff here is nice and friendly. I'd definitely come back to catch another show! read more

Worst movie theater, avoid at all cost. Just went to see Retribution in theater 6. 2 of the 4 reserved seats were broken and couldn't recline (one of them was missing the buttons all together). My entire row was full and the only other available seats were neck breakers in the front. We endured the broken seats because we drove a long distance just to see the movie. After the movie ended I told a staff member by the name of Jezeal the issue and her response was there is nothing they can do because the movie had already ended, if I would have said something sooner they would have moved us. I told her I looked at what seats were available and the only other ones available were in the front as pictured in my screenshot. I told her to let me speak to a manager and James was called. He told me the same thing. No credit, no courtesy pass and no apology offered. Personally I feel if my complexion was lighter I would have been treated differently. The poor workers are young and really try but there's only so much they can do. I was in theatre 1 and every other chair is broken, visible crooked, feet rests won't go up, wobbling back and forth when you sit or get up. I went to tell the worker and noticed many people surrounding this poor kid angry about their theatre as well as if it was the kids fault. Apparently the worker explained that they already know but corporate will not fix the seats. Why not block them off? I have a feeling this theatre will be gone in a few months. Previously operated independently, this theater is now under AMC management, so customers can now book tickets online through AMC Stubs or Fandango or purchase tickets in-person using one of the two touch-screen kiosks in the lobby. Seating at this theater is assigned at time of purchase, so buy tickets early if you're picky about seating options or if you're with a group. During my visit, one of the kiosks was out of order, and only a single cashier was on staff to service the long line of grandparents (and great-grandparents, dare I say) hoping to buy last-minute tickets in cash. If you decide to buy tickets in-person in order to forego online convenience fees, be sure to use the touch-screen kiosks so you can see for yourself which seats are available instead of having an attendant explain to you where they are or pick them for you. (And obviously, have a debit or credit card.) Because most of the seats recline (including the ones in the last row), there really isn't a bad seat in the house. I was able to comfortably watch Captain America: Civil War sitting in the second row because my seat reclined down far enough that I didn't have to crane me neck to see the screen. The AC is also on full blast all the time, so dress in layers, or be prepared to shiver your timbers. The leather armchairs with motor-operated leg rests here rival those at the dine-in theaters at Menlo Park and Bridgewater, and the pricing (especially during matinee showings) consistently undercuts that of the AMC Loews on Rt. 18. (That being said, it doesn't make much sense to redeem AMC Red or Green tickets here since the pricing here is already so low. This theater also does not appear to offer any student discounts.) The biggest area for improvement continues to be cleanliness. Kernels of stray popcorn will often linger for days in the seat cushions before anyone bothers to remove them, and although the seats are black leather you can still pick out traces of smudged grease on the armrests. If you happen to step through an evaporated puddle of spilled soda, you can rinse off your sticky sneaker soles by walking through the overflowing pond of urine/toilet water on the floor of the men's restroom. read more

I love this movie theatre! I've been going to this movie theatre since I was young and it has definitely came a long way. The new and improved as what I still call "mega movies" is amazing! The place is so clean and the seats are incredibly comfortable. The movies are not that expensive and the staff there is great! I had a problem with purchasing a ticket and the manager there named Jillian was amazing. She was extremely polite and handled everything perfectly. I liked this theater better before AMC bought it. Ticket prices were really cheap which made up for the older, darker feel to this theater. I do like the reclining seats but they aren't the typical AMC seats. Now that AMC took over prices have risen but the concession stand is slowly improving. If you're seeing a late movie make sure to park by the theater or you'll have to walk around the entire mall. read more

3.5 stars! I've gone to this cinema for many years and recently watched Hidden Figures here last Saturday. The movie theater is located inside East Brunswick Mall, which has become a haven for Tweens and teens. Fortunately I watched the movie Saturday morning, so no teens were really around. It's a small theater, which works for the EB Mall as it's on the smaller side. There are arcade games and some claw games (?) to play while you're waiting for your movie. They have a concession stand, including a Nathan's though that doesn't open until 12PM or so. Staff was pretty friendly and service was quick. It is an AMC theater so you can use your AMC Stubs benefits and all that jazz when you're here. The theater definitely needs an upgrade and a good cleaning. The theaters seem a bit cramped, but they are kind of intimate which makes for a good party or if you want to have a large group showing of a movie. The seats full recline, which is awesome! But they do make some noise. They have reserved seating, which is convenient. Sound quality is good; I liked the small size of the theater. The seats are really close together though. There was a woman who spent 45 minutes on her phone!!! I thought it was a young girl, but was sad that a mom was being a bad role model for her kids. Sigh. She eventually put it away, but damn! We were watching Hidden Figures! Show some respect. Anyway, not my favorite theater, especially after all the times I've gone to the Dine-in, but I wouldn't mind returning if I had to. read more

Prices are ridiculous just like other cinemas with recliners.. popcorn isn't always fresh...and my main issue is they need to improve the cleanliness of the theaters inside.. a lot of trash and popcorn on the floors and the seats once you open them there's junk inside. I used to absolutely love this theater but I can't defend it anymore. I went here yesterday to see the new guardians of the galaxy 3 movie. We heard it was amazing and I have been SO excited to see it for so long, but trying to watch it here was absolutely terrible and ruined the movie completely for all of us. We were in theater 6, I recommend cancelling your ticket now if you get put in that theater. We could immediately tell something was off when our movie time had started and there was nothing but a black screen for a solid 15 minutes. We should have known something wasn't right then, but we rolled with it and let it go that they had no previews or intros during that time. The movie started and we were all enjoying the movie, and then maybe a third of the way into the movie the movie paused??? And seemed like it was buffering???? So it was playing in choppy fragmented seconds and constantly freezing. If you're at all familiar with videos buffering, you naturally go back a minute or two to rewatch the scene that buffered because you completely miss whatever is happening when that's going on. It instantly took us out of the experience, and no one was sure what to do because none of us wanted to miss anything if the movie came back on. This first buffer managed to resolve itself within ~2-3 minutes and we tried to get back into the movie. Then about halfway through, during a climactic part of the story, it happened AGAIN and this time the buffering/pausing was catastrophic. They brought in staff, they shut the whole movie off, someone skipped ahead in the movie ruining a future scene for us?? And the whole ordeal lasted 10-15 minutes. At this point people were COMPLAINING, and the "resolution" they were given was that we could "wait it out" or leave now and get a refund, but that we wouldn't be eligible for a refund if we stayed. Are you KIDDING me? I've never seen anything like this happen at the movies it was out of control and they were still trying to be stingy about refunds??? You RUINED THE MOVIE FOR US???!? Eventually the movie started again, and when the movie paused and buffered for the THIRD TIME people really complained. The whole movie was shot by that point but we were all so excited to watch this movie that most of us stayed until the bitter end. At the end of the movie, a staff member came in and gave all of us free ticket vouchers because it was obvious they weren't going to be able to get out of giving us a refund. We were all grateful for this but we unfortunately still will not be able to experience this movie we were all really excited for for the first time again. (I don't blame the staff at all for this, and it sucks they had to deal with angry customers, I definitely blame the manager/s). When they handed the vouchers out, they apologized told us "Sorry about this, we've been having issues with this projector." WHY would you keep using that theater if you guys KNOW it's broken??? Now it made sense why there were no previews, THEY ALREADY KNEW SOMETHING WAS WRONG WITH THE THEATER. We were in one or the smallest theaters in the building too, even if it was one of the biggest you can't subject your customers to this absolute bullshit. Knowingly putting any customers in a theater that was broken was the final straw for me, and why I will not be back to this location unfortunately for a very very long time. I tried to defend this place as it's gone downhill in recent years but this is unsalvageable. AMC corporate/management, get your shit together. Camcorder recordings had better streaming than this theater. read more

I was very pleasantly surprised with this movie theatre. We came on a sunday to watch a 130 showing and we only paid $7. Thats a great deal. You also get to pick your seats on a screen so you dont have to worry about going in early to have a good seat. You can buy your ticket, go shopping in the mall, and then come back just in time to see the movie. The best part about this whole experience- the seats. They are EXTREMELY comfortable. They were motorized leather recliner chairs, nice and roomy. So comfortable in fact that i actually dozed off for parts of the movie... I would definitely come back here again without a question! read more

The seats are great. The prices seemed to be cheaper than most of the other theaters around here. While they do have a few machines to pick up or purchase tickets, those lines seemed to move slowly. If they have a purchase and print at home option, I would go for that providing there is no extra charge for the service. Prices of tickets are best around even for 3D. One thing I have noticed is now here and also few other theathers when you buy your tickets it's selection seating. You pick your seats. So always plan early so you can fit your groups or parties together. The seats in this treated are heaven. Leather full recline two cup holder and very comfortable. One of best movie theaters in this area right in the brunswick square mall complex. Wonderful comfy seats with so much of space to spread and stretch your legs. It's a nice experience. But the food area service is not that great, often too slow. If you plan having sm KS and pop corns don't go late. Be there early to give enough time to pick your food ! I still can't understand why people have to eat at a movie theater just because they show you ads that you should do so! There is something the movie industry has impregnated in peoples mind that you need to popcorn and down some chemical infused unhealthy soda in 1-1.5 hrs time you spend there! Oh! Lost my thoughts!
