I visited AMC Freehold recently to see a couple movies in one night. First off, the employees here were pretty relaxed and made it easy to order and scan in our tickets. The line moved pretty quickly for concessions and we were able to get our popcorn and refill with ease. They had a great selection of collectible popcorn buckets and cups. The seats were comfortable and had the reclining feature. I also thought the screen and audio quality for the films were decent. Cleanliness at this theater is not the best. The main concessions area had a bunch of spills, and my cup holder in one of the theaters was pretty gross. I will say, the bathroom was pretty clean and I didn't have any issues finding a stall. I would consider coming back to this theater with my A-List subscription, but it's definitely not my favorite AMC. While the seating was comfortable, cleanliness wasn't great, and they didn't have as many food options as dine-in AMCs. read more

I've been to a few AMC movie theaters and this place has great seats that are wide, comfortable, and not ripped apart. Well maintained considering all the movie patrons. The floors are not sticky and the bathrooms are kept fairly clean compared to other movie theaters. It's also not freezing in the theater so you will be comfortable. read more

This theater really needs some updates. The place gets way too busy, the seating and overall space feel dated, and nothing about the experience matches the prices they're charging. An outing for four with basic snacks came out to nearly $160; if Hollywood wants people to still head to theater, patrons need a better experience. I haven't visited this movie theater in years. During my last visit here, there weren't even reclining seats. It's nice to see that the seats have upgraded. However, this theater still has some old touches. I think it could use a full renovation and possibly upgrade to a dine-in theater. This area by the mall seems so dead, so I think upgrading this theater could bring some new life to it. I recently attended a pre-screening of The Color Purple hosted by a local community organization. Due to this, I purchased my ticket through the organization. My ticket came with a large drink and large popcorn. When I arrived, I checked in with members of the organization and received my cup for my drink. One thing I love about AMC theaters are the Coca-Cola Freestyle machines. Peach Sprite is my favorite combo. After getting my drink, I headed inside the theater where I received my popcorn before finding a seat. I really enjoyed the movie and had a great time. I'd just love to see some upgrades here. read more

I saw Jurassic World Rebirth a thi movie theater a few days ago with one of my old friends from high school. He always liked dinosaurs and was a nerd about it, like did quizzes and shit about naming each dinosaur and it's bones or whatever. I thought the movie was interesting but he hated it. He said it was all too "fake". I tried to explain that it was computer generated and fake anyway but he wouldn't shut up about all the details and whatnot. I am just having a bad week. He made it worse and the movie made it worse. Very nice employees and very dirty bathroom. I came here to see a movie , the movie itself was fine the popcorn was quite stale from being under the heat lamp.. my major concern was the state of the female bathrooms , not even one stall had the toilet seat covers , the hygiene of the bathroom made me wanna puke , and the much needed handicap stall was trashed , I needed the handicap stall but instead had to struggle in a small stall with no hand rail to grab onto , I had to push my arm against the side wall instead and almost fell , as an amc stubs member this is just ridiculous I put my trust in amc for a good experience instead I had a poor quality visit , my older sister got a Bavarian pretzel and it was under cooked and doughy, she paid $17 for it and ate barely half of it before it made her feel sick read more

Had a great time here. Came with two kids ages 9 and 3 to watch the BARBIE movie. After about 20 min my 3 year old became bored & started climbing all the seats. Thank goodness it was a 3:30pm movie so there weren't too many people around. The theater was clean enough -- not the cleanest but it wasn't terrible. I was able to buy tickets quick & took advantage of the 30% off movie tickets. All in all we enjoyed ourselves. Yes, AMC Freehold checks all the boxes necessary to be considered a modern movie going experience. However, one thing nags at me... AMC promises enhanced cleaning protocols in response to the pandemic and yet all I see between showings is the same kid with a broom and a dustpan. No one is expecting laboratory levels of cleanliness and decontamination but let's get real about what's really going on... or not going on. AMC's "Safe and Clean" protocols seem like corporate eyewash. Even at a ballgame, the usher wipes your seat down with a dirty rag expecting a ten spot in return. I'm not a germaphobe by any means but let's stop pretending these crowd caves are any more hygienic than they were in the good old days... say 2019. Two dusty stars. read more

the only reason i came to this AMC and not the one in brick is because it was the closest location playing the movie i wanted to see. immediately i was grossed out by the cup holder (as seen in the image). i can live with holding my drink. but then i am unable to even get comfortable because my feet are hitting the seat ahead of me. in the picture seen i am sitting properly in the seat with is reclined to its max. i am only about 5'5" and my feet aren't even off the end of it. loved the movie but that was the only good part. read more

The 1 star review is solely for having book ahead assigned seating readily available for online purchase. The theatre is pretty filthy especially the bathrooms. It looks like this theatre has not had a deep cleaning ever although claims of cleaning and thorough sanitation practices are posted up. The self serve beverage station is ALWAYS A MESS, this is not an exaggeration I've gone to the theatre when it was near empty and the beverage station was a disaster and staff members just standing around letting it remain filthy. I never see any staff member cleaning aside from the after movie sweep. As mentioned before the bathrooms are filthy, overflowing garbage bins, floors that are wet, sticky and greasy. Bathroom stalls soiled with urine, paper, used feminine products and even fecal matter. I have witness staff members go in to these filthy bathrooms and walk right back out without cleaning. Sinks, counters and disgusting hand dryers. The hand dryers have caked on dirt and grime. Over priced snacks, beverages and food are a given at the theatre which I wouldn't complain about if the quality was equivalent to the pricing. The large popcorn size has been reduced, but being sold at a higher price and majority of the time the popcorn is either burnt or stale. There was a recent change in the nachos cheese sauce and my recent visit the cheese tasted sour and as my husband described it "the cheese tastes sour and rancid" the theatre used to serve Tostitos Cheese sauce or Tostitos salsa which never had this horrible taste. The curly fries are only good if the oil has been changed, half the time it seems to be fried in old oil. The massive pretzel is pretty good, but I will admit once it was still ice cold in several parts. Chicken tenders could be better sometimes it tastes like it is cooked in old oil as well but they're not the worst tenders I've ever had. I would give an extra star for food/drink delivery to your seats but on my last visit I witness a staff member delivery food in brown paper bags to EMPTY SEATS. Normally the staff is supposed to come back at a later time and await the customer's arrival. The picture quality and surround sound is pretty good I'll give them that, but I cannot rate the theatre above a 1 star rating due to the lack of cleanliness. I'll consider changing my rating if they start cleaning. read more

This place never disappoints. As an AMC A-lister, I'm always coming back to see my favorite, Nicole Kidman, presenting each and every movie. This time around I got a small popcorn and an ICEE, where I mixed cherry and blue raspberry to get that blissful blend. Wasn't busy this time around, and probably for the better. Nice staff, clean theater, it's a shame only 4 of us were seeing the ultimate cinema: Magic Mike's Last Dance. Nevertheless, a good time. For whatever reason, always enjoy the ICEEs there the most, despite the typical movie theater prices. read more

This place is absolutely disgusting! What was once a clean and wonderful experience has now become run down. The bathrooms are filthy. I watched a man urinating on floor and no one bothered to clean it up. Most of the soap dispensers were empty. The carpets are totally ignored. Workers stand around doing nothing. We recently went to see " Elvis " . The movie was pretty good! Except we only got to watch two hours of the movie! We had to leave early since it was unbearably hot! And we couldn't sit there anymore! It's a shame that they don't care about their patrons, I guess they're trying to cut their electric bill! I don't see any other explanation! The a/c wasn't broken since it came on maybe twice for less than five minutes! They sure charge you enough between the movie tickets and the food! I recently visited this theater to see the new Alien movie. First off the popcorn was old and burnt and than when we went to get butter there was no butter in the butter machine. The soda machines only 2 worked and 1 only had ice and my soda was watered down because the machine must have ran out of syrup. Than we enter the theater and there is just an odor, next the seats have trash stuffed in the cushions and the cup holders have liquid in them. The seat it's self the arms were falling off like the chair was about to fall apart and on top of that neither seat was able recline the buttons were broken. Go to a different theater i've had this experience all of the last 5 times i went this year and I'm officially never going back. read more

You can't beat giant, reclining comfortable seats to watch a movie. However when this theater first opened up it was a 5-star theater. Now many of the seats are damaged, some are a little dirty, and some don't work right. But that's not going to stop me from going there, it's still the best place to see a movie in the area. And you can reserve your seat so you could walk in at the last minute and have a great spot. I'm not sure why they are letting the theaters deteriorate but I hope they renovate and fix things up soon. It's a beautiful theater inside, well decorated with plenty of food With theater prices of course and usually a clean interior. Highly recommended if you are in the area. My only wish is that the owners don't continue to neglect this beautiful theater. read more

This theater seems to be on a slow decline. It was really super awesome when they first did the renovations. It was always clean and everything worked. Lately I feel like I need to arrive early with some Clorox wipes. Every once in a while we get chairs that don't work too, which is really the only thing that justifies the higher ticket prices. Another issue that seems to be more prevalent at this theater as opposed to the others in the area is people taking seats that they didn't pay for. At this theater you pick your seats in advance which is awesome because you don't have to rush to get to the theater early to find a good seat. Problem at this theater is people really don't grasp the concept. They'll sit in your seat and when you ask them to move they'll argue with you. If you try to get staff to help you they really aren't very helpful. I guess they're trying to avoid a fight. read more

This theater has gone downhill! The bathrooms are a complete mess! The chairs are dilapidated and destroyed. The Diet Coke in the self serve beverage station last night was not working. I asked for help and the attendant said it wasn't displaying it needed to be changed and stated maybe the ice was affecting the taste. This used to be the best place to come watch a movie and now it has completely made me not want to go to the movies at all! The theater served its purpose. Everything was fine with the movie. The building and parking lot have seen better days. It is clear AMC is not investing much in this location. it is a bit depressing and feels like you stepped back in time. when we went into theater 5 it smelled a bit stale and like smoke. the chair we were in was broken and they seemed old. read more

went in to see a movie rated R. He denied us access even though we had parents over the age of 18 with us (that's the rule). Then, the manager was called and we were let in. Even then, he reported us and had us followed. and he taunted us and said you tried and laughed even though we were inside. he then had a horrible attitude. As we walked out after the movie we said have a nice day. He had the sheer audacity to look up from his phone which he shouldn't be on, and roll his eyes and scoff and mutter yea you too. How horrible. Just because you're young doesn't mean you get to treat others with no respect. I'll only come back here because it's my home theatre, but this was a HORRIBLE experience. Most of the time this is where Hubby brings the family for movies- It's true some of the seats don't work but we have just told management and we switch to seats that are not purchased. The seats themselves are okay I like the ones without the middle arm. I suggest you join the Stubs AMC frequent buyer club, it actually can save you a few dollars and that's how we buy our tickets as well. All in all an okay theater, sound is good and picture is good, you really can't get a bad seat during a movie. We usually order the pretzels and fried mozzarella and large popcorn's, but what I don't seem to understand is- there are always employees standing at the "registers under the menu signs" to the right of the candy section, but they don't take orders, then why are they standing there directing people? just put up a bug sign that says, "ORDER FOOD AT CHECK OUT REGISTER" or something like that, its really confusing to customers and it doesn't flow at all-- causes lots of cross traffic. The snacks are basically something to hold us over until after the movie. read more

I do wish there were more registers regularly open so the lines didn't take 10+ minutes for snacks. However I noticed on my last visit people ordering with delivery to their seats. Worst experience ever co workers are so rude and so nasty have so much attitude and kept arguing with me when I was just asking questions. I wanted to see the Barbie movie with my friend and we got there at 5:30 and btw the movie is pg-13 and the lady asks for my id and I'm not 21 I am 17 and she said I can't let u in because your not old enough and starts giving me attitude "I'm tired of this YOU PEOPLE need to stop coming in if your not 21" it is not even 6:00 and it is light outside and I'm 17 and the movie is pg13 so I went to get my money back and the next lady was so rude rolling her eyes yelling pointing finger all of that and I walked out having a terrible rest of my day never going back there again and I will be talking to the manager this is so bad how people treat each other they need to be fired.I am so annoyed and angry you guys should never go there again. read more
